This is a very interesting place to stay. Christine, the host, is a very warm and engaging person. She stresses her place is supposed to be a home away from home, and treats her guests that way. She is also very knowledgeable about the area's WW1 history. The premise is a converted stable with three bedrooms. We stayed in the...

We stayed 4 nights with Christine playing the perfect hostess. She was very personable, speaking to us each morning over breakfast and was eager to tell us about the areas to visit as well as great recommendations for dinner each night. It is perfectly located to see Amiens, Arras and all of the WWI sites in the Somme area. Highly...

L'Martinierre is a great base if you are exploring The Somme. We had a twin room which was very clean and tidy and great value. We received a very warm welcome from the owner - Christine - who could not be more helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. Would definitely recommend and will almost certainly return in the...

Stayed with the perfect host Christine for 4 nights in August 2016, this first class accommodation is located in the center of the Somme battlefields. It is the most friendly and quiet place to stay, I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone. The beautiful breakfasts by Christine is something to look forward to. Christine is very fluent...

Just spent 4 days here and cannot rate it highly enough. Christine welcomed us warmly to her home and provided a lovely, tasty breakfast every morning with the best yoghurt (home-made) I have every tasted. We shared the Melody room which was spacious and comfortable for the four of us. The bonus of a kitchen enabled us to eat in...

Stayed 5 days at The B&B, great welcome by Christine. The B&B had a lovely feeling about it, almost homely! Beds were comfortable, rooms were cosy and clean! Lovely self catering kitchen attached to the rooms. Court yard is picturesque and lovely to sit and chill with a wine! WiFi is provided - which is a bonus ! The B&B...

Very out-of-the-way place. Our poor GPS struggled to take us through wheat and corn fields and down dirt cattle paths. From the outside, the building is a charming building in the courtyard of a family farm. Inside, the furnishings are sparse at best, wifi is non-existent except for a corner chair in the shared kitchen, and not even a bar...

Dear guests, Thank you for your review. For the prospective guests who don't know the place yet, we must enlighten a few things... To start with, we've never had any sheep in the village nor around... Also, before EACH booking, we send a proposal by email which clearly mention what is included and the link to our own website and...

6 nights here with Christine as our hostess made this a highlight of our stay in the Somme area. A nice room, a complete kitchen, off street parking-all this with Christine who made us her real friends. We were especially pleased to use English so comfortably. Very well placed to drive to most of the Somme battlefields.

An absolutely WONDERFUL B&B experience. Christine spared absolutely no effort in making us comfortable. Even though we arrived well after dark (and at a later-than-usual hour for a typical B&B), Christine was standing out front on a chilly night making sure we didn't pass up the gate. We hadn't talked to her since well before dusk -- but out there...

Christine made us feel so welcome. After a few nights, I felt like I was saying goodbye to a very dear friend. The accommodation was everything you could ask for -clean, spacious, friendly. I could not recommend any better place to stay for exploring The Somme. Our stay was perfect! Thank you so much Christine.

“Neptune and Melody have updated decor and more spacious shower rooms than Orca. Orca and Neptune are upstairs. Orca is away from the road, with a view over the garden, though from a noise point of view this is almost immaterial as the village is so quiet.”
