Where to begin? The setting is absolutely gorgeous. The pools are very well-designed and meticulously maintained. The design of the buildings is marvelous as well. The public bathing area ($4/day for seniors) is wonderful and a great bargain with pools of ascending temperature from tepid to scorching. Staff are always very accommodating. For a splurge, now and then, we book...

A gem in the middle of nowhere! The ride there was amazing and a little nail biting! We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place nestled in the Andes near a Volcano. The food and staff were everything you could ask for. The hot volcano hot spring pools were amazing and something I will always remember. We hired a...

Beautiful location- the view of the mountains from the hot springs was incredible. The food was good too, and the rooms were lovely, with heated floors for the cold. Our room was 10 steps away from some lovely hot springs- very relaxing. The wifi was slow from the rooms, but it worked. The spa massages were fantastic.

Romantic getaway from Quito, comfortable rooms, totally worth the price to be inside the Termas with a semi-private set of pools near your room, rather than dealing with the crowded public pools. Spa services are excellent! My husband and I both got massages, and each masseuse was skilled. Dinner service is a bit frazzled, and the food is decent, though...

¡It is a beautiful and a very relaxing place close to Quito! They have standard international food and also a professional spa. You can go and come back the same day. If you decide to sleep over there, one night is more than enough. Customer service is not so fast during high season.

Beautiful hotel! Spectacular views and private hotel only thermals outside your door! (They empty them and clean them every morning!) These are less packed and more relaxing than the spa or public thermals around the hotel. Make sure you bring jackets for the evening. It gets very cold! And sun screen for the day (you are at 10,800 feet!). The...

Nice place with amazing view- in the morning- of the Antisana volcano. Wi-fi is available just in the reception area- quite of disappointment, no TV in the room, which we didn't miss. For the money you spend per night the breakfast should be included. Quite cold in the wooden cabins but thanks to the heater they provided it was OK.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Termas de Papallacta is a Hot Springs SPA, Resort & Convention Center nestled in a majestic valley of the high Andes only 45 minutes driving distance, 31 miles (50 kilometers) from the new Quito Airport. We are located at Km 65 on the way to Baeza following the Interoceanic road. Our resort is on the "Cinnamon Trail", the same route that the Spanish conquistador Francisco de Orellana took in 1542 when he crossed the Andean mountain range searching for gold and other treasures, and which unexpectedly led him to discover the Amazon River. Papallacta is the doorway to the Ecuadorian Amazon region, despite being in the Ecuadorian Highlands at an altitude of 10.827 feet (3.300 meters) above sea level and of an average daytime temperature of 14°C (57°F). ... more   less
