We stayed in this charming spot for two nights while birding the nearby Guajira Peninsula, about an hour away by car. The only drawback, a relatively minor one as it turns out, is lack of hot water for showers. As the weather was quite warm and humid while we were there, we found the cold shower refreshing. The food was...

Beautiful hotel, great friendly staff and delicious food. A perfect place if you want some peace and quiet! It also suits as a perfect honey moon place with its romantic atmosphere and the sound of the sea. You can book trips from the hotel to travel down the palomino river in tires which is also a lovely experience. You can...

We arrived to Palomino after an adventurous journey through Guajira. After sleeping in hard beds for a couple of days, it was of great comfort arriving to this beautiful hotel with quite special decoration and really kind staff, from the manager to the cleaning lady. They were always so kind and willing to satisfy all our needs. Dining tables are...

The place is simple/rustic, the people helpful, the food good (and they asked if you wanted more) though not haute cuisine and the pace coastal. The peace and quiet and beauty are unparalleled in Colombia. They are very nice: when american airlines delayed us by a day, they didnt charge for the missed night, only the meals we had. You...

Loved Playa la Roca because all the staff was just adorable, because the bungalows were very nice, because it had an amazing beach, actually it's fantastic how we went so many times to Tayrona while we had a perfect beach just a couple steps outside our bungalow. the food was also nice, it could only be more diverse. But overall,...

Our friends booked out this place for their wedding, and I just can not say enough nice things about it. The location is incredible, completely in the middle of nowhere and just so scenic and so beautiful. We stayed in two different rooms while we were there, both of which were decorated to perfection in massive open spaces with funky...

Recommended by Casa Lola in Cartagena.Initially the impression is quite exotic(thatch-roof cabanas on the beach),however the level of service and food fell well below expectation considering the very hefty room rates.Food is taken communely with sparing helpings,eg small spag.bolognese and normally without a choice of main course, despite assurances to the contrary .There is no bar facility and we waited for...

Truly lovely beach side property with a number of thatched roof cabanas. Ours was one of the newer ones and had a particularly lovely tiled bathroom. No hot water but you don't need it at all, it was so warm. Coco palms out front, plenty of windows, crashing surf and a friendly marine toad. Good base for local birding. Excellent...

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Colombia! We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The beach is beautiful but too rough to swim in. The food is delicious and we loved the communal meals. Bring mosquito repellant!

Indeed, lovely ownership and staff. Helpful, interesting, and interested... Unfortunately the price is outrageous and the beach is not as advertised. We came to chill after the lost city trek. The website showed blue waters and first class infrastructure, and the kicker is that I was CHARGED for it. 200.00 US dollars per night, way too much... The ocean was...
