The Sheraton Samui Resort is a haven for guests seeking scenic views and tranquility, with many praising its picturesque setting. While the spacious rooms receive appreciation for their cleanliness and equipment, there are calls for updates to tackle the dated feel. Service at the resort is commendable; the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, along with the efficient golf cart service, stand out.
However, opinions on value are divided, with some guests finding the amenities overpriced despite the comprehensive facilities, including pools, a spa, and activities for children. The resort's cleanliness is consistently lauded, ensuring a pristine stay for visitors.

Detailed Reviews
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Sheraton Samui Resort for 10 nights and had a great time there. Due to the duration of our stay we also got a free 3 course meal, a cocktail and a free Thai massage in the Spa section of the resort.
The Room:
Had a nice big bathroom, big enough bed and a balcony. The room was dry and cosy. Some spots could use repainting but overall it was clean and the sea view was nice. The safe in the room is free to use.
The breakfast:
One of the best we ever had. Great variety of means for every taste for both european and asian guests. The fruit, juices, salat, cold cuts etc. are kept in a separate cooled room. Freshly made eggs (in all common varieties), pancakes, waffles, noodles and smoothies were also available. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was good and friendly, the orders were delivered quickly.
The beach:
We had a few stormy days so going swimming in the ocean was not possible but that's hardly the Sheraton's fault. The staff did a good job of cleaning up the beach (they also can't do anything about the general pollution of our oceans, thats everyones fault). They also took care of our stuff left next to pool and put it away when it started raining while we took a walk on the beach (special thanks for that).
The few issues:
- As same other people already mentioned: it makes absolutely no sense that the fee for the hotel transfer to the airport is 1500 baht while a taxi is only 500 for the same route with the same comfort in the same time.
- When going to sleep you can hear the ocean really well, unfortunately you can also hear the techno party from next door as well. The constant bass can be annoying but I don't think the staff can do anything about it.
We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay there again.

Two couples both celebrating silver weddings stayed here for 14 nights in Feb. We had an amazing time, the hotel was perfect for our needs. It is situated on the beach at the quieter end of Chaweng at Chaweng Noi. It’s easy walking to local bars and restaurants and short taxi rides to Chaweng, Fisherman’s Village and Lamai, ( use NaviGo to get around they are great).
Hotel is clean and spacious with facilities you expect from 4 star Marriot owned hotel, what makes it special is the staff, they were outstanding, the most helpful smiling and friendly staff I’ve ever come across. From Jittima in the breakfast area to the guys on the beach they could not be more helpful, the room cleaning staff were like cleaning fairies whenever we came back to our room it had been tidied!
The included breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had, great choices available for any taste.
The hotel is built on a hill so some walking and steps have to be negotiated but staff are happy to run around on buggies if you need, though after Thai food a walk is a good idea.
We had a perfect anniversary holiday and Sheraton Samui played a huge role in that, Thank You

From the moment we arrived to the last minute of our 4 night 5 day stay was amazing! Greeted with a reverent bow, ushered into a reception area with view of the ocean. While they brought our registration papers to our seating area, and to cool us down a bit, we were served iced pea flower tea and jasmine scented cold towels rolled into a rose. Mac and other lovely ladies at reception desk treated us like royalty. Whenever we wanted to go to the beach bell boys were eager and glad to take us in a golf cart they call the “Bucky”. Beach staff was friendly and welcoming. Dining room staff was flawless and food was exquisite! Breakfast buffet was endless and my favorite spot was the air conditioned room with salads, fruit in abundance, charcuterie boards, etc. Eggs Benedict is their signature dish and it does
not disappoint, especially when drizzled with Harissa oil for a bit of heat. My favorite was the warm bread pudding with bits of chocolate topped with vanilla cream! Every day! Took a cooking class with Head Chef Joop and his sous chef Varapoth. Fun and delicious! Blue Monkey Beach Bar staff always eager to cater to your needs. Housekeeping always supplied us with plenty of toiletries and extra bath towels...you can shower up to three times a day! Spa was beautiful and our three hour treatment went fast! Ask for Mona. She is the best masseuse I’ve ever had! After being there for five days the staff got to know us, and everyone was simply divine! Last breakfast morning, kitchen team and waiters knew it was our day to check out. Head Chef Joop came to our table and handed us a bag with a box of cookies for our flight back home. It was from his kitchen team. We didn’t expect such an expression of appreciation. So sweet! And finally, as we left our table, all wait staff Including head chef, stood in line and thanked us in their traditional bow saying “Pah Koom Pah”. We felt like family! Never have experienced such genuine service! The Sheraton hotel is a lovely property, but the staff is what enhanced our stay. Thai people made our trip to Thailand unforgettable!

I had a 5 night reservation at Vana Belle but arrived in Samui a day earlier than my reservation. I noticed that the Sheraton was next door to VB and thought it would be perfect opportunity to try it out. I was able to get an excellent price. At check in, as Ambassador Elite, I was upgraded to a Premium Deluxe Studio. I thought the room was quite nice (no musty smell) and I liked the quirky colours (bright yellow tile in the bathroom). There was also a large soaker tub on the balcony.
The property itself is built on the side of a steep hill, so there are lots of stairs (or golf carts for those who are unable to do stairs). It was a beautiful property with waterfalls and streams with koi ponds. There were lots of chairs at the beach and around the pool scattered everywhere due to the unusual topography of rocks and hillside. All the chairs were equipped with a buzzer which you could ring for service.
The Blue Monkey Bar by the beach was a very cool place to hang out in the evening with music and sound of the waves crashing nearby. Happy hour drinks were 150-190 baht. I ordered food from the Long Talay restaurant which was delicious and very reasonably priced. I especially liked the multiple vegetarian entree options. Thank you for that!
Most of the drawbacks have to do with the ocean and the beach. The sea was quite rough during my visit (apparently I just happened to be there at a bad time). I also found the sand to be quite granular. Water clarity was good. Finally, there were a lot of pebbles on the ocean floor which made it difficult to find your footing as you are battling the waves. However, if you walk a little bit to the south of the property along the beach, the bay offers protection from the wind and the ocean is much calmer! The hotel has two beautiful pools for those who don't like ocean swimming, one on the beach, and one just below the lobby.
Buffet breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of food.
It was my first time at this property, but I am already looking forward to returning next year. This hotel is tremendous value as a category 4 Marriott property.

We stayed at this property in the first week of August, for three nights. The property is right next to Chewang Noi beach with easy accessibility to the beach. Its a large property and although it looks a bit old its well maintained. There are 2 swimming pools, gym, spa and 3 restaurants serving different cuisines and a coffee shop.
The staff is pleasant, always smiling and helpful our check-in and check out happened very smoothly. The rooms are nice and spacious. For the first 2 nights our room was right next to the beach (we got an upgrade), there are a lot of chairs on the beach for guests to relax. The beach was also not crowded wich made it good for walks and games which lot of people were doing.
The breakfast spread was good, we also tried one of the restaurants one day for dinner and enjoyed the food. There are lot of small restaurants, coffee shop, pharmacy right outside the property if anyone is interested in local food. We did try a few and liked most of what we ordered.
The hotel also provides a shuttle (paid) service to the mall which has enough shopping and food options. The street behind the mall is also good for shopping and food. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Sheraton Samui.

I’ll rate the Hotel as a 4/5. We stayed 7 nights through a Luxury Escapes package and decided to upgrade to the VIP package, which only provided an upgrade from the Superior room to the Deluxe room, with really nice ocean views (rooms 151 - 157). Only problem was that these rooms are closer to the 'black moon bar', which plays the boom-boom music until around 3-4am every night.....not just when there's a full moon. On the plus, the air conditioner mostly drowns out the music, but the thumping can be felt. Don't get me wrong, I thought the stay in that room was still...Great. The staff were absolutely fantastic and always sooo helpful and nothing was to much. If you get the opportunity to request room number 224 or even better 225, which is in the quieter area that overlooks the beach pool and the lovely Long Talay restaurant, these provide great views and you won’t have to climb so many stairs.

We stayed at the Sheraton Samui Resort as part of our weeks-long trip through Thailand on their Test and Go program (Covid tested on your arrival to the country and on your fifth day). We were on property for our Day 5 test and the reservations manager was able to set up our testing before we even arrived, as well as arrange it to where the medical team came right to our room. It made the whole situation very easy to deal with.
The resort itself is absolutely beautiful!! It's located on a lot of land that is wonderfully manicured and adorned with rock paths, sculptures, and waterfalls. When you arrive, you are welcomed with a refreshing drink (NA) while the bellman load your bags on a golf cart that will take you down winding paths to your room.
We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom terrace suite that overlooked the property, pool, and private beach. We were there at the tail-end of Samui's rainy season, and it unfortunately lingered around throughout most of our stay. This created very strong waves that kept the "No Swimming Red Flag" out and a high tide that at times left the beach littered with random oceanic debris and hard to walk on. The high tide would also bring a lot of sand into the pool, as the beach and pool were pretty much level with each other, but the pool staff were amazing with keeping it clean and ready to use. We lost very little pool time thanks to them!
The main restaurant on property, Long Talay, was absolutely amazing. Not just for their food, but for their customer service! We were greeted with smiling faces every morning as we walked in for their buffet breakfast. They had a great selection of Eastern and Western fare to choose from, as well as Chefs preparing made to order egg dishes and fresh pancakes and waffles. Besides breakfast, we took advantage of their Friday night BBQ. From fresh grilled meat, vegetables, and seafood, wonderfully prepared sides and fresh fruit, to BOGO cocktails, it made for a great night as we sat overlooking the beach. Oittima and the whole staff there we just great no matter what time we came. They had such a high level of service, but they made it seem so easy and effortless. We appreciated all the kindness and it really made our stay that much better.
The property is located away from the hustle and bustle of areas like Fisherman's Village and Chaweng Beach, so you really feel secluded and on your own little oasis. But when you want to get out and experience some of the great restaurants and nightlife in the area (Karma Sutra and Coco Tam's are a must!), the front desk will easily arrange taxi service for you. It really was really nice to not worry how to get to places.
All in all, if you are looking for a spot to feel secluded, and never find a need to leave the property if you didn't want to, the Sheraton Samui Resort should be the place you stay. Thank you to all the staff there for a wonderful experience!!

I stayed at Sheraton Samui from 19th-21st sept 2022 and I stayed in their deluxe Room, they offered a complimentary welcome dessert & drink, the staff was very very welcoming and available for assistance 24/7, the resort was at a very good location at Chaweng & had a private beach aswell. Amazing restaurents & great breakfast, rooms with beautiful views. 2 pools in the resort and both very aesthetically beautiful. Their restaurents are great and since we requested for a halal option of food, they cooked them the halal way! My overall trip was amazing all thanks to sheraton, the resort, staff, ambiance, food, cleanliness everything was on point. They have a fitness club, tennis court and many other resort activities free of cost, so would highly reccomend to stay in this resort for couples, family & even solo travellers as very secure & safe!

Sheraton day pass is a joke especially on the beach as you don't have enough beach chairs and then you have these non-guest coming from outside and taking up chairs, drinking in the pool and shouting across the pool, while the hotel guests are trying to relax on the chairs. I'm not sure if Sheraton only cares about THB 500 per day for the day pass and not look after their own guest who have paid over AUD 5000 for out stays, you need to get your priority right here Sheraton.
There are no cushion on the chairs, even Impiana and New Staff have beach chair cushions on the beach chairs, how is Sheraton 5 stars???
Curtains in our rooms were ripped
Rooms needs renovating as they are really tired and run down, we had paint pealing off the walls in our room
Fridge in the room not working
Not much choice at breakfast when it comes to food
Need more restaurants for longer staying guest like ourselves
Need more staff in the restaurants and beach to assist guests
Need no smoking signs in both on the beach and in the Blue Monkey bar, as guest from outside smoking and disrupting the hotel guest. we have to ask the hotel staff to ask these people from outside to stop smoking,
We could smell cigarettes' smoke in out room, this is coming through our air-conditioning unit at night time when we were sleeping.
Our air conditioning wasn't working to had to get a technician to take a look and get it fixed.
The room cleaning was so in consistence, some days we get hand towels, some days we get face towels or some days we didn't get anything and only bath towels. The poor room staff were cleaning too many rooms and not enough time.
Sheraton doing a really poor job managing this resort and I hope the Thai owner is aware of this.
Now for the positive points
Really location
Friendly staff , especially the old staff who have been there for a long time.
Sunday brunch good idea
Good bathroom products
Great Spa
Beautiful gardens
recycling bins are a good idea
The bells on the beach to order food is a good idea.
You should do more beach brunch on the weekend and not just Sunday.

In their defense it seems like this hotel was in covid hibernation till just before we arrived. Staff appeared to be minimal and this isnt their fault.
Positives :
Staff are very friendly and helpful if asked.
Room was good and clean.
Grounds are stunning
Gym is reasonably equipped.
Breakfast was very solid. No complaints.
Not so positives :
Very little detail given about hotel amenities upon arrival. Basically had to figure it out outselves.
Large pool is dated and easy to scrape toes on 'faux rocks' that have been placed throughout. Really odd design with sloping sides so you cant lower yourself in you have to walk/fall/butt scoot or walk to maybe 3 or 4 steps which again really poor design.
The 'quiet' pool, the whirlpool wasnt functioning, not heating and jets about as powerful as a wet fart.
Pool area staff did not once approach to offer drinks or food and beach bar was often unattended meaning nowhere obvious to get refreshments from.
We had 3 very wet days. Again, not their fault however the 'Kids club' was restricted to 5 max which once full there was basically nothing else for kids to do when raining. They also wanted a 2 year old to wear a mask in there despite not needing it anywhere else.
There were mothballed cafe and restaurants with enough space for a pool table or even colouring etc that could be employed. There was a large carpeted room adjacent to breakfast area open for yoga one morning which again could have been a space for kids to run around in when raining.
The cafe adjacent to the reception could have been activated as a space to go other than our room which we sat in 80% of the time when raining.
One of the restaurants was not functioning at all.
No umbrellas were brought around despite torrential downfall which I would expect from a Sheraton. The ones we got from reception were tiny labelled 'Imperial' whilst others seemed to get huge golf umbrellas labelled 'Sheraton'
I say again a lot of this isnt their fault but they were woefully unpreppared for the rainfall.
Overall this is only family orientated if its sunny. The staff try their best but more staff and opening all areas would have provided other options.
Overall 4 star. It could easily reach 5 but not without some work.
