What to expect: The resort is older and a bit dated, there are some renovations going on. Appears they are trying to modernize which is good. Our Condo was clean, the A/C worked well and the bed was comfortable. The staff and locals in general are over the top friendly and helpful. Especially enjoyed Ms. Avis. The accommodations are located right on the Marina. If you have your own boat then there is a dock available a few steps from your room. Banyan Beach is consistently rated among the top 10 in the World... Never more that a dozen people or so on it at any time during our stay. The Bar and Pool area are nice and located at the Marina. Dining options are limited but recommend Florence's for Breakfast(Island parties and egg dishes) and we enjoyed Coco's on the…
This place offered very workable living space right at the marina with your boat dock right outside your door - then, you had a great grocery store, liquor store and all you need a short walk away - even easier with a Golf cart rental for $40 a day. The area is beautiful - especially the beach, which is the best part in my opinion. You can rent tiki huts for $30 a day and there's a couple of restaurants right there on the beach itself. We definitely want to come back some day
Just returned from taking a group of ladies, wow what a trip! The staff went over the top to accommodate us, fast, friendly service, great food at the Tipsy Seagull, Coco Beach Bar, Spinnaker plus fun evening entertainment. Rooms were clean, we liked the marina view. The beach was spectacular with its sugary white sand and more than 3 miles to walk where you hardly see any people - just nature, no crowds! We can't wait to come back!
This is the first time to Great Abaco Islands. My friend and I, did not know what to expect, aside of Bahamas' beautiful sea and beaches. On arrival, the first impression of the warm smiles and helpfulness of the ladies at reception, especially Ms. Avis (dubbed Miss Abaco) were wonderful. When taken to our 2 bedroom townhouse, we were impressed, full kitchen, living room, view of the sea and Marina, but, more than any thing by the room attendant who even offered to help me w/ hanging my clothes in the closet! Went Coco's on the beach, asked Charmaine at the Bar about towels and were to rent a little golf cart, not only she gave me the info, but even offered to give me a ride in her car, to the reception for the towels and to the golf cart rental place, close by. At the Marina I…
I am just back from Treasure Cay in the Abaco islands My traveling companion and I live in Jamaica so we are used to beautiful beaches with gentle breezes and turquoise water, water the temperature of ones own body.Jamaica sets a high bar and we are very spoiled where beaches are concerned. But Treasure Cay is at a new level, one that has been “developed” away in most of the world’s resorts. The rooms and the restaurants could be better and I could go on about little glitches that the dynamic manager Steven Kapeller is busy ironing out, as the property, an older one, is going through a renaissance. These small things were outweighed by the charming people who worked there.Notably among these were Charmaine at the beach bar Coco’s and Timothy ,head waiter at the high end…
