Hostellerie d'Aussois is celebrated for its prime location at the city's gateway, offering easy access to local amenities and featuring a well-regarded pool and restaurant. Guests have commended the warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by clean, spacious accommodations and comfortable bedding. The service receives accolades for the staff's friendly and professional demeanor, although occasional slow service has been noted. While the rooms are lauded for their comfort and cleanliness, some improvements in lighting and soundproofing could enhance the guest experience. The hotel's amenities, including ample parking and a satisfying breakfast, generally meet travelers' expectations, yet some have pointed out the need for better shower water pressure. Despite a few remarks about it being overpriced, the overall value of the hotel is acknowledged positively.

It was all very good. But only 2 points I had to shortcomings. One is usually a little something. At the sink and in the shower the two liquid soap dispensers were both empty when I arrived. I waited and in 2 days the two soap dispensers were not checked and filled by cleaning staff. On 3. Day I reported in the reception and it was filled despite my report only at the sink of the dispensers and not in the shower. The second is the water in the shower flows very little. Nevertheless, after reporting to the reception nothing was done. Nevertheless, I had showered every day with little running water. It took a very long time. The water in the shower/bathroom was throttled and ran very little water. On the flight there had also been people in the late night who have seen no consideration for other guests. Couple times I was woken up in my sleep because of people coming at night who were loud in the hallway of hot rooms.

Beautiful, quiet hotel with large free parking outside the town of Semur-en-Auxois. Smiling welcome. Ideal stopover with the family to visit the beautiful Alesia museum park and the many interesting sites in the region (e.g. Flavigny). occupancy with 3 children 2 communicating rooms (103 and 104), one with bathtub and the other with shower. Very good bedding and clean. The hotel is full, the dinner service in the restaurant must be spread over a shift hour in quarter of an hour but it is not disturbing unless some people stay for a long time as was the case at breakfast the next day where you then risk waiting for a table. The bar where you can wait has very few tables and seats. Very busy room staff, especially a single lady, which is not much, for the breakfast service and undoubtedly explains its somewhat rough side... Meal in the restaurant correct and quite classic like the regional menu of a good value quality / price at €32 with 6 snails and beef bourguignon but the accompanying gratin dauphinois was unfortunately not well cooked and crème brûlée. On the menu, you can find for example a cod fillet (€27) or a supreme of guinea fowl (23€); so don't expect great gastronomy or original preparations but a decent stopover meal. Wines a little expensive but you can settle for a Brouilly at 38€ for example. against the children's breakfasts (buffet) at €7.5, or even free for those aged 3 and under, just like the children's menu at €12, moreover, are at a reasonable price! In short, it was a great and appreciated stopover. We will not hesitate to return there because the region is full of places that are worth a detour.

Everything was perfect, welcome, service, meeting room, catering, room and bedding. The bar area is warm and pleasant, the selection of local craft beers is very good, with a slight preference for Black. All the staff are pleasant and attentive. Small point of general improvement: the floor covering on the stairs leading to the meeting rooms could benefit from a refresh.

Great location offering a very nice environment. The service is perfect. The room is very comfortable and well equipped. THE only downside of our stay is the evening meal as we were offered a menu supposedly included in the room price only to finally tell us after signing the note that there had been an error in room number and therefore we had to pay the entire menu. So we discovered the painful the next morning when we set the note.

A most pleasant setting, both exterior and interior. Great professionalism at reception and at breakfast service.
The only regret was not being able to try the restaurant, which was closed this Sunday evening.
The “Escapade en Bourgogne” formula allows a correct room + breakfast rate for this type of establishment.

very good establishment with comfortable, very clean and well-equipped rooms and a very good restaurant with delicious Burgundian specialties. The staff is courteous and competent, very attentive to customers' advice, particularly for wines so that they can adapt to the dishes ordered. When providing information to consider our visit, the explanations were very clear and we received a quote corresponding to our request. This estimate was strictly respected. This was our 3rd stay at the establishment and each time its quality remained the same. We will certainly come back to admire this beautiful region and visit what we did not have time to see

We booked 2 rooms, one standard and one "superior". AVOID the so called superior!

The standard room was a good size and had a good sized comfortable double bed. The a/c was good. Which was just as well because opening the window brought lots of flies in. But the cups provided for in room coffee were paper and there was no tea on offer. The towels were ok but definitely not fluffy.

BUT the main criticism is of the so called superior room which was next door. It cost 20 euros more than the standard. It was a smaller room with a smaller bed, and was dark! Otherwise it was identical to the standard! I asked at Reception if there had been some mistake. But no! So what makes this less nice room a superior? The reply. "Oh it has 2 towelling robes and hotel slippers and a coffee machine" How can you charge an extra 20 euros a night for this ?! I expressed surprise (politely) and asked if they could remove these "extras" and revert the room to a standard one which it clearly was apart from the "extras". They ( also politely ) refused. "Thats what you reserved"

Apart from this the hotel is more of a motel. It is clean and tidy but entirely without character. The pool looks nice. There is good parking. The staff were pleasant. It has nothing of the region about it. We decided not to eat there. The nearby town is delightful with lots of eateries. But lacks a good hotel.
This place is just about OK if you need an overnight stay en route.

Dear Alish, We apologize for this late response. We want our customers to be satisfied and we are sorry for your dissatisfaction. We would like to point out that, in addition to the elements mentioned in your comment, the superior room benefits from a safe, as well as higher quality body products than standard rooms. Many of our customers are very satisfied with the services offered by our hotel, as well as by our restaurant. We remind you that we are classified ***. Maybe we are not suitable for what you expected and we are sorry about that. Very good continuation to you. The Hostellerie d’Aussois team

Impeccable Service: a great success in this mix of an experienced waiter and a young waitress who takes her job to heart and serves her customers
Dishes (notably the beef steak priced at €30) of high quality. The same goes for my wife's trout.
Unfortunately the presentation of the dishes is absolutely sloppy.
The pinnacle being reached with the Epoisses: a piece presented in 2 parts (perhaps with two different cheeses!) and accompanied - IT’S A SHAME IN A HOSTELLERIE (the meal for two without starter and with a little rosé from Burgundy billed 110€!) - two totally wilted and inedible salad leaves
