Probably the best hostal at el costillo. The owner (lenin) is a very kind and helpfull man who can speak english. The food is good and rooms are clean with a private (tiny funny) bathrooms. There is a nice 2 person hamock where you can chill. The owner can arrange some trips. We took the basecamp bartola tour for 2...

I travel relatively frequently to El Castillo, one of my favorites places in Nicaragua, and we always stay at El Chinandegano, Lenin and Gema are the best and friendly hosts you can have at El Castillo, although rooms are small and basic they are clean and comfortable and the food is in my opinion the best you can find in...

As there are not many accomodation options where you can pay with VISA card, this was one of our only possibilities as we didn't bring any cash to El Castillo. We received different informations, but there is no ATM in town!! However, we had a great stay at this place. The owner could organize any tours for us, was very...

This is a great place, right on the river with affordable prices! We took a room in the corner, small and basic, very clean and with two windows with great views of the river! Lenin, the owner is very friendly and relaxed, makes your stay easy. The restaurant is very good too. Highly recommend this place!

Town of El Castillo is really cute and comfy and this hospedaje fits in perfectly. It's a crooked house with holes between planks, so you can see the river under you, but beds are clean, food is good and bathrooms are ok. It's a nice place to just sit by the river and calmly get drunk to sleep with an...

Lenin, the owner, really made this place for us. We have lived in Nica for a year and it is so rare to have such amazing customer service. He kept coming over to check everything was ok with our meal and told us it would be his pleasure to help organise any tours. When we left at 5am for the...

We had a few meals and drinks here with our friends who were staying here. We might have too, had we not already been booked in elsewhere. The food was good - fabulous salad! Very helpful people - Thanks Lenin, for finding Darwin, the very knowledgeable guide for us! Saw into our friends' rooms, which were small (you could see...

Wonderful little guesthouse, overlooking the water. Rooms are small and compact but everything you need. Great spot with amazing views over the river and a great breeze all day long. We had a corner room with was always cool with the lovely breeze. You can swing in the hammock chairs and just watch the comings and goings on the river....

“The corner room if possible! The room is small and, like many places in Nicaragua, the walls did not go all the way to the ceiling, so there is no noise privacy from neighboring rooms, but everyone who was there was respectful and relatively quiet.”
