Kulus’s Hideaway Dreadful; Dirty and unkempt. Blood stains on the floor of the first bungalow. Shower was dirty. Complained, shown a room right next to the reception and restaurant area. Refused this. Shown another room that was apparently the best, long line of greasy filth along the shower screen. Stayed one night [booked in for two] couldn’t wait to get...

We stayed for two nights. Only a few minutes from the park entrance and the elephant sanctuary. A nice hotel with a good swimming pool and nice gardens. The evening meal was a good value buffet with a choice of western and Sri Lankan food. We had the downstairs room in the chalet in the garden. While it was a...

We stayed here for one night following an evening safari. We were given a warm welcome with a welcome drink and invited to light a candle (srinlankan tradition). Great buffet dinner, with attentive staff. The room in the main hotel was basic but clean, with mosquito nets which were necessary. Breakfast was another good buffet spread. We did not have...

We only stayed one night and wondered if this was the reason we were given a dark and dingy room in the main building; it was OK for one night but poor value for money. Also the T V did not work ! The pool and garden were good as was the dinner buffet, We had a major problem with...

Good Room in fine garden. Needed umbrella, none offered. Welcome Luke warm. Dinner was good buffet. Early start for safari, five am, request for fruit refused. Good breakfast on return. Bill not ready in spite of several staff loitering rather officiously.

Beautiful hotel. Nice grounds with a pool and garden and wild peacocks roaming around. Rooms are nice as are bathrooms. Food was delicious, particularly the breakfast buffet. If possible, request a room outside of the main lodge as our room was right off of reception/dining area so it wasn't very quiet.

We had two lively peaceful nights in Kalu's Hideaway. The pool and gardens are lovely and it was a beautiful place to recharge our batteries. It is very close to Uda Walawe National Park and we had a fruitful safari with lots of sightings of elephants and Eagles - and all before breakfast! The traditional Sri Lankan food was excellent...

This is a smart hotel, rooms and surrounding is excellent, and a good swimming pool. It is close to the Udawalawe National Park which is lovely. You can sit down by the river and watch the birds. The atmosphere is good, but some of the food could be improved.

Got upgraded to the upstairs chalet room - can highly recommend. Biggest bed we have slept in as well as large daybed outside on the deck. Very quiet and very relaxing place in good location close to national park (which was very good) and elephant sanctuary (highly recommended). Good restaurant setting and nice food. Nice pool. Smaller hotel so no...

We had a good room in this modern hotel although the overall layout is strange: eg. the toilet block is right in the middle of the grounds and you have to walk round it to go anywhere. Dinner was very good, breakfast was poor and the service almost non-existent: eg. A lunchtime ‘tuna’ sandwich took 40 minutes, with no other...
