Nice château, typical of the Cognac région, soft and relaxing atmosphere, nice view on the Charente valley from the terrace. Service not really friendly, nor efficient. I did not try the food, as the menu and the view of some plate was not very inspiring.... Price are high.

My husband and I booked a standard room for an overnight stay enroute to St Malo. We were warmly greeted and pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a very charming room with all the comforts. The Steam room and hot tub were nice after a long drive. There is also a sauna. Our Gastronomic Dinner and service was impeccable....

This was a two night stay to visit Cognac and visit Hennercy. The hotel looks great from the outside but the room we had was tired. The wall paper was pealing off and the cover for the air cone looked like it had been kicked a few times. The bathroom was clean. It think the hotel is punching above it...

This was just a quick trip to visit Cognac so weren't too focuses on where we were staying, however the hotel exceeded any expectations I would have had! The room was spacious nicely decorated and clean and we were superior ones to the ones booked which I found out by looking at the room list in reception so the staff...

Attractive Victorian building with beautiful terrace and superb views overlooking the valley. Room was excellent with good air conditioning and staff very helpful. We did not eat in the restaurant as bit too expensive but drove into Cognac. ...5 mins away with easy parking for dinner. Check map on line carefully as we had slight difficulty finding it.

Set on a hill overlooking the Charente, a few ks outside the town, this is a lovely place to stay - a Victorian chateau with a smallish, cold, but swimmable pool, the location was pretty, with reasonably fast, free wifi. Our room was mid range and excellent, overlooking the river - you can cycle or walk 5ks to the town...

Thank you very much for your kind comments; I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay at L'Yeuse. I am sorry that you felt let down by our breakfast. Much of our produce is either homemade or organic and we try to have a wide variety : from savoury hams, cheeses and indeed "diy" boiled eggs, to the non savoury...

This is a superb hotel. It has a most wonderful view, being situated on the top of a hill looking down into a pretty valley about twenty minutes walk away. Our room was large and clean, with a most comfortable bed. It was not cheap, but if you can afford the occasional luxury, this is the place to be. When...

This was a lovely stop off, friendly welcome, great views, delicious dinner finished off with cognac and a cigar in the cognac room just perfect and very relaxing. The service was very attentive and the breakfast lovely too all in...

We travelled by train to this hotel from La Rochelle while we were holidaying in France last week. We bought a deal on " Very Chic" for a one night stay with breakfast and a welcome cocktail at a very reasonable price of €109. We were greeted immediately when our taxi arrived at the door and taken to our lovely...

Nice Hotel in a great location just outside Cognac but with easy access to Cognac centreville There are great views from the terrace over the Charente river to enjoy dinner or a drink. Rooms are quaint and in keeping with an old building although there is an extension to the original building.Make sure you get a room overlooking the river...
