It is some time since I last stayed at the Chateau de Berne and during the intervening period the hotel has undergone extensive renovations, which have certainly improved the hotel, its facilities and its appeal. The restaurant was over the top, expensive and the food didn't live up to the presentation. That said it is a little difficult to go...

Fabulous hotel in the forrest surrounded by wineyards. The first night we got one of the rooms prepared for disabled with a bathroom that we didn't like. Next day we were given a great room with view of the valley. Good service in the reception, a very nice indoor and outdoor pool area and a fabulous restaurant that probably will...

Let me start with the location- IT is worth toing for the location alone. We had a 5 dish meny. First of all - the bread is fantastic! Warm and served constantly with the best olive oil and salt. Vegetables from the garden served tempura - flawless! Mushroom ice and egg yolk and nyts for starters. Fantastic! Trout with horseraddish...

Chateau de Berne is a really lovely location. We enjoyed very much the pool area, the excellent service and of course the French cuisine. It's a paradise on earth. They offer many sporting activities to their guests such as swimming, walking, cycling etc. Don't forget to visit St. Tropez!

Although the grounds and public spaces are lovely, my accommodations and the service aren't close to the level to which I'm accustomed at the many other Relais and Chateaux affiliated properties where I've stayed. My room was small and unremarkable. The shower was tiny. It was surprising that a hotel at this price point would cut corners with their bathroom...

The hotel is in a stunning location in the Luberon forest. It is a bit remote, but this is not really a problem because the hotel has everything a guest would want if seeking quiet and beauty. The breakfasts are sumptuous, and the Bistro offers very good value. The formal restaurant is excellent, and surely will earn the Michelin star...

10 of us had a Birthday lunch. It was a beautiful Provencal sunny day and we sat outside. The setting is excellent. The staff were highly attentive, pleasant and most spoke English. The menus were in English as well. The selection for 1st, main and dessert was quite extensive and we, between us, sampled most. Superb presentation and deilcious to...

When paying five star prices at a hotel member of Relais and Chateau you expect exceptional service and facilities. We have certainly had this at other member establishments. Chateau de Berne was closed last winter for a major refurbishment, so you would expect the fabric at least to be in good order. Why then was the catch on our bathroom...
