This is not the Ritz but then again we did not pay 'the Ritz money'. Entered the building from the rear and thought Mmm what have we come to but then things changed when we were greeted very professionally by Tony. The place is basic and if we are honest a bit tired but it's clean, the bedding was clean...

Hello Steve, Thank you for your very balanced review. After leaving all fours stars for value; sleep quality and service it would have been nice to get an overall four !!! dont know how this works. The Queens Head is a very old pub which over the years has not been as well looked after as it should. We have...

although we got this half price on a voucher deal, there was no half heartedness about their welcome. lovely warm fires, friendly staff, busy restaurant and loads to do and see in and around the area. The management asked if they could make a twin into a double as there were no rooms for the date we wanted, that was...

We have just come back from a weekend trip to Rothbury and stayed at the Queens head Hotel. It was on a Living Social deal and we added an extra night. Our room at the Queens Head was acceptable and ok.I believe you get what you pay for. However we was put in the dreaded room 14 and our first night...

Hello, Thank you for leaving us a review, I can see that the new bed is becoming an issue so will definately be leaving the mattress topper on. Sorry you found the bed too hard. Teresa

We have stayed in Rothbury now on a couple of occasions and the Queens Head is a very pleasant place to stay. Very clean, lovely food and a snug bar where the locals are very welcoming. It is a great place to stay and ideal for maybe stopping when doing the new Sandstone Way bike ride which opens this year.

The title is my overall impression but I must point out that the sleep quality was the worst for quite some time. We just tossed and turned all night, couldn't get comfortable. There was no one on reception when we arrived, when I asked what time they had so down for dinner (which was average) they were an hour out...

Hi, Thank you for leaving your review I am very disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay, The bed in room 14 is less than 6 months old with a firm pocket sprung mattress. We have had no complaints at all about it until now. I may have to consider a mattress topper for those who don't like a...

Our twin room was on the third floor and a bit of a trek. Beds were comfy but room was somewhat shabby and bathroom rather bare and basic. Food was fine and folk were friendly so we would stay here again. Location was central in Rothbury

Booked via living social. Communication was excellent via email. Staff friendly and helpful. Bedroom was well decorated and the bed was really comfy. Bath could've been a bit deeper but I can appreciate it must cost a great deal to fill everyone's bath. Fab views of the hills. Stayed for dinner. Service was a little slow but it was valentines...
