My friend and I bought a three night break at the Portsonachan Hotel in May and had the most fabulous time. Lovely hotel with great views of Loch Awe. Our bedroom was in the Coach House, which does require a little upgrading, but the room was clean and tidy and the beds comfortable. There was an ensuite bathroom with bath...

Loved all of it! Scenery great, staff couldn't do enough to help. Food was magnificent! Fishing was challenging but managed to catch some brown trout over the three day stay. Dave the owner was a really engaging fascinating chap and made you feel really welcome. Will definitely go back!

This is the second time we have stayed here in a lodge in the grounds and we weren't dissappointed. It's obvious they are spending money on improvements here as no longer needed bottled water as filters have been installed. There were new ceilings in the cabin and in the main restaurant and a new roof going on the next door cabin....

The Portsonachan is well situated with great evening meals but after that it goes downhill. The rooms (we were a party of 3 couples) were comfortable enough the water in the bathrooms was an unfortunate colour, which we were not warned about, the showers were ok if you were no taller than about 4 foot 2 inches. Breakfast was part...

As previously stated, we are in the progress of updating all our bathrooms. I am sorry your...

We (two couples) bought ‘the deal’ from the Cruise Show, part of the selling point for us buying this deal was that we’ were told that we’d be able to add people to the deal - just ring Margo (contact for ‘the deal’) and the other couple/s would pay the same price. - A great deal….or so we thought! However,...

In common with lots of others we bought a short break at a show. We expected a room in the hotel but were initially shunted off to a cabin in the woods. After protesting we got a converted cottage overlooking the loch which was quite nice. There was no Wifi. The staff were all eastern European - not a Jock...

Stayed for three nights, and wish it had been longer. The Portsonachan Hotel is a hidden gem. Our room overlooked the loch and the views of the water and the mountains was awesome. Gary the manager was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Can’t fault any of the staff – particularly the barman who made a mean French Martini (and many...
