One of those little corners of paradise that once you find, you immediately start redrawing your calendar to stay a little longer. Very chill place, campsite is nice and cheap, food is excellent (best rolex in Ug), and generally good vibes. Definitely paddle your way there, it's part of the experience.

I wish I could return to Byoona post-haste. It seems to draw a certain type of traveler - budget, friendly, relaxed types that are happy to meet, chat, and drink together. The dorms are comfortable, cheap, and have a lake view (as well as huge lockers - bring your own padlock), and the lake is an absolutely brilliant place to...

Loved staying here. Sleeping in the open geodomes, waking up to bird song, swimming in the lake, the wonderful, friendly staff. It was the highlight of our trip to Uganda and so much more special than many of the more expensive lodges we stayed in. Also it is community owned so all money raised goes to people who need it....

Lake Bunyonyi is a beautiful location and this lodge is on a small island in the lake, accessible by motorboat. The Deluxe Geodome we stayed in was lovely; completely open at the front, with a big private deck overlooking the lake. It was a lovely place to sit a watch the birds come into all the trees next to the...

This is a chilled out place and at first you might think nothing happens here at all. Once you get in to the spirit it is a very friendly place which is great to come for a gorilla trek. The trek from here was very good (I am sure they all are) and it was very memorable holiday. Nice chilled...

The place itself is stunning with incredible views of Lake Bunyoni from the porch of our geo dome. The food is excellent and you must try the rum balls--they are the best I've ever had! Gad, Julius, Nicholas, and the rest of the staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming. Julius taught us how to fish for crayfish which we then...

We spent a night here - for us this was just right - if I was alone and looking for some serious rest and rejuvenation, I think a couple of days would have been nice too. We stayed in a little log cabin that reminded us of something in Russia; made us smile. It was comfortable and quaint but be...

We happened to know about Byoona Amagara from a person we met in Kampala. It is located on one of the islands and has a very good top view of the lake from its dining area. One night we stayed in a dorm and the second in a double room with shared amenities. The rooms were clean and good for...

Stayed here as a family if four in one of the deluxe geodomes. Loved sleeping to the stars and wakening to the birds in the morning. Good menu and affordable for our budget. Blankets in bed might have been a little mysty as daughter developed allergy sleeping in bed but all good otherwise!
