After discovering this gem a number of years ago, we make a point of incorporating a stay into any trip we take to Mpumalanga. Even with two broken shoulders, Debbie outshines any B&B host. The rooms are immaculate, with little touches that elevate your stay from good, to excellent. We stayed on a DBB basis, with dinner a social affair...

What an absolute gem we found here ! Beautiful tranquil surroundings - just loved the log cabin and the attention to detail amongst other things the marshmellows and sticks for the kids to braai. Debbie and her family went out of their way to cook us such a lovely english breakfast not to mention the main lodge which was so...

We have stayed at Gunyatoo twice already and Bob & Debbie are SUCH accommodating hosts... On both occasions, we were showcasing SA off to International friends who were in SA for very short periods of time at a time and had to get as much as possible squeezed in. Gunyatoo was perfectly situated to all the major Eastern Transvaal "hotspots"...

Gunyatoo was such a wonderful surprise. You drive into the middle of nowhere and then this gorgeous oasis appears. It was exactly what we were looking for for our weekend away. It is chilled, quiet, peaceful and scenically beautiful. We stayed in the log cabin for 3 nights and the cabin had everything one would need for a 4 day...

After travelling off the beaten track for what felt like hours through timber plantations (all my fault for not sticking to the emailed directions) we arrived to be greeted by a friendly Debbie. The accommodation is beautiful (we were booked into The Studio), simple and well planned out. Gunyatoo gives you the opportunity to fly-fish, hike or enjoy the surrounding...

Gunyatoo is the perfect place if you want peace and tranquility. The owners were friendly and welcoming. No need to visit the tourist information, for they are full of advise and knowledgeable of the surrounding attractions. We stayed in a 3 bedroom loghouse with everything you might need during your stay. Debbie informed us about the 4 km of bad,...

The farm is a full working "trout-farm", comprising of a processing area, hatchery, nursery, raceways and naturally, for the enthusiastic fly fisherman-two stocked dams. Limited stream fishing is also available for the more experienced fisherman. Private fly fishing lessons and group clinics can be arranged on site. After a days fishing one can enjoy a drink at the bar, have a game of pool or darts then unwind in the sauna or swimming pool. Of course should it be chilly one can warm up around roaring log fires in the lounge. The Lodge is just the place for a fishing vacation or weekend getaway, but any nature lover will find themselves in a proverbial paradise. For the sedentary tourist, relaxing on the wooden decked patio watching the abundant birdlife is a must. The Sabie area is truly a birders paradise. Not only is there a huge variety of the more common bird species, but a number of globally and nationally threatened species also occur in the area. For those in need of exercise, on farm trails and walks to the nearby waterfalls & caves are just as enjoyable but should you require additional stimulation: - Various mountain bike trials are available onsite.
