Fantastic break and brilliant hotel near the beach. Rooms were great, food excellent and we were really lucky with the weather for October. We would definitely go back, it all exceeded our expectations!

Very disappointing and certainly not worth the money. Flight and transfer fine. Stepped off coach and into reception. No welcome drink or anyone waiting to greet us. Had to ask for some water as the dispenser at reception was empty. Stood in queue with wife and little one - eventually made my way to reception. First thing offered to us was an upsell to all inclusive. I explained we were booked all inclusive to be told that we were blue band and if we wanted the coveted pink band we would have to pay 10 euros per person per day extra. Told that the blue bands excluded access to most areas and drinks other than house wine / lager. I'm a wine lover and can say the sole choice of both red/white wine are awful. No help with luggage but given a map and told to move on as others were waiting. Had to hump 3 suitcase up gradual incline across to the other end of complex and up two flights of stairs to our room. Rooms are small, tired and dirty. We hand an ant colony residing with us - not very pleasant when you're in bed with ants in your pants. Staff are few and far between, appear miserable and clearly want to be somewhere else. Service is abysmal and felt like you had to beg for a drink. Absolutely no entertainment for the little one - perhaps one or two nights we heard some music for half hour during dinner by time we got down to the entertainment area it was all over. Blink and you miss it! Kids pool is offsite - You need to leave the main complex, walk up a hill across the road to find it. Not very clear on the map. Whatever you do make sure you get your towel and return it to the same place you got it otherwise you'll end up carrying towels around with you for days until someone agrees to give you your towel card back! Food repeated every couple days, poor standard overall. Lifeguard in kids area - what a disgrace. In fact, not fit to be called a lifeguard. Sat under tree on his phone the entire week. Maybe looked up once and that was to go and sit in the eating area and continue to play on his phone. Should be sacked! Pool area dangerous, damaged table legs, broken tiles, pool grates etc all potential for injuries. Netting below slides to prevent kids getting under play area ripped or unfastened in areas. Keep an eye on your kids at all times! You should anyway but don't take any chances in the kids pool area! One bottle of water in room for the week. Shop about 10-15 minutes walk where I had to hump water and milk for the little one back to room on daily basis. Not fun! Lovely sunsets, beech area is nice however some joker tried to charge me 50 euro for 3 sunbeds. Told him where to get off and we sat on sand whenever we went to beach. Beware many jellyfish in the area. I got stung across arm and saw many other get stung too. We didn't get any stomach bugs but spoke to many others that week who did say they had been poorly and blamed poor hygiene in the restaurant. Saw many occasions the chef handle raw food then touch other foods. Did see young boy collapse and unconscious with the restaurant manager standing over his distraught parents. I went over and asked him where the first aider was or if there was doctor on site and he shrugged shoulders. Absolute disbelief at his attitude. I asked parents if I could assist to be told he had sickness and diarrhea from something he ate and had been poorly that day. Poor kid. Not planned but needed to get out of the place so we hired a car (opposite the shop 10-15mins away) for the day (80 euros). Went to Ibiza town for something nice to eat! I could go on and on but will leave it here. Ibiza lovely, sunsets lovely, this play absolutely terrible would give 3 star at best. Over 3.3k for a week was pricey given the standard of the hotel. Mis sold by Tui for sure. We will NOT be back and would recommend you carefully consider if you do wish to go yourself. Good luck and stay safe.

The hotel I thought was lovely, check in wasn’t as bad, they don’t tell you much tho in the surrounding area, they said no buses there is, so I paid 40 euros for a taxi, I wasn’t keen on the hot food lot of it was cold, plus no entertainment after 8.30pm, we were not bothered as we travelled with six months old but older children were stuck but apart from this, I enjoyed the week I had here, loved old Ibiza and San Antonio, it was end of season so not sure if it was that.

Tarida beach was excellent! The room was top floor, which we had requested. It was large and the balcony had glass panels on three sides so was bright and airy all day, with sea and countryside views. The room was cleaned with fresh towels daily. The food in the main restaurant was varied and staff and service were excellent, except one lunch when there was a change of staff and it was a bit slow. The pools were clean and everything was washed down overnight. With just a short walk through the grounds to a beautiful sandy beach with lovely clear water. We had a great holiday.

My complaint is one of being mis-sold the holiday, the constant under delivery of expectations and an overall poor experience from start to finish. I have listed out what I think is the bulk of the complaint and I can provide more context upon request. I am seeking a full refund plus compensation including reimbursements already promised by our TUI rep which are yet to materialise hence why I have waited nearly 28 days. Our outbound flight was delayed by 4hours meaning we didn’t arrive at the hotel until 20:35. There were 6 in our party. 4 children aged 2, 4, 8 and 12 along with myself and my husband. We waited 20 minutes to get to a under resourced reception and were told that we would have to check in quickly so we could eat as the restaurant was closing in 5 minutes. This instantly created a feeling of panic and anxiousness. Having been travelling for over 8 hours the thought that we wouldn’t be able to feed the children or ourselves was a real concern. The check-in process started and the first thing we enquired about was the interconnecting rooms which we were advised were available by the TUI travel agents prior to booking (I have this on email). We were told by the hotel that these rooms didn’t exist and therefore non would be available. We explained this wasn't what we expected and that we needed to obviously be together. We also question given we have small children why we our rooms were the furthest away from the hotel amenities. They went on to explain the two rooms would be next door to each other and then said bluntly, if we had an issue, we should speak to our TUI rep or the hotel manager in the morning. Feeling exhausted from a day's travel we decided the best option in the circumstances was to enquire tomorrow. We were then handed wrist bands, a paper map and sent on our way in the direction of a restaurant. We had to then ask what we could do with our suitcases, we were told they would be taken to the room. Having no idea where we were heading, we had to ask again for better directions, at this point we were told we had 3 minutes to get into the restaurant which we now know was a 7 minutes’ walk. We would have expected to have been shown the way to the restaurant or been at least given some clearer directions. We were also led to believe that there was food available 24 hours an day but when we enquired about this we were told this wasn't true. So, in haste we set off in the direction of the restaurant. The map itself is poor and the font size used makes it very difficult to read. The paths were poorly lit and difficult to navigate due to the lack of sign posts. The first thig that struck us was the lack of hotel staff, there was literally no one to ask for assistance. We eventually found the buffet restaurant and was told it wasn’t possible for us to be seated. We then spent a further 5 minutes trying to explain our situation and we were reluctantly seated. After finishing our food, we headed to our rooms. Luckily for us we went via reception again. Had we not done that our suitcases would have still been sat in reception. An hour later and the suitcases hadn’t moved. We then had to hump 3 suitcases and 4 very tired children across the resort to find out rooms. There was absolutely no apology or offer of help from any of the members of staff who all stood and watched. Having eventually found our rooms we couldn’t believe we were put on the second floor. We assumed we would have had a pushchair accessible room. Nevertheless, we climbed the steps to our room which were next door to each other. As we headed into the rooms the disappointment on my husband’s face was obvious. We were both so underwhelmed. • Both rooms looked tired, and in need of renovation • The air con was on in one room not the other meaning we had a very warm room to walk into • There was literally one 1litre bottle of water in each room to share between 6 people. • The minifridge was empty • Air con in one room didn't work, just blew out warm air. The aircon in the other room had a loud rattle (subsequently kept my husband awake all night and was never fixed) • The TV in one room didn’t work • The safe in one room was broken and didn’t work • There were no toiletries in one room • In one room there were chips and broken sealant around the bath • The rooms looked nothing like what we had seen online It was quite apparent this advertised 5-star hotel was not a 5-star hotel. It was 22:30 at night and we decided to not unpack the suitcases and look to get help the following morning. We spoke to reception who offered no help other than to tell us we had to come back at 10:30am to speak to manager. When eventually speaking to the Manager she was so dismissive of our complaints and simply referred us to our TUI rep. She wasn't willing to relocated us or even upgrade us to a larger room. Having spoken to the TUI rep they said they would log the complaints and we were offered an £150 payment towards an meal in one of the premium restaurants. We were told this was a way of apologising for our bad experience to date and that we should make an official complaint when we return. We were told this payment would be made to us within 14 days of checking out of the hotel. As of today, no payment has been made. It was quite telling that there were queues of people complaining. There are so many issues with this holiday I have tried to condense them down into to list form, but I am happy to add more context when required. • Water situation – You have one bottle of water that you must have refilled at the bar. This means we had 2 litres to share between 6 and we would have to spend 5-10 minutes 2 or 3 times per day queuing to get the bottle refilled. Not what you want to be doing on holiday for a basic essential Iike water. • Waterpark (The Retreat) – We were never advised that this was offsite and there was a huge hill to walk up. This isn’t advertised as such. It’s a difficult walk with 4 children in 32c+ every day. Also, the web site states it opens at 10:00am, it doesn’t, it opens at 10:30am. • In the main the hotel is severely understaffed and those that are working are slow to react to anything meaning you are often left waiting around or forgotten about totally. • There is no way near enough sunbeds around all the pools for the amount of guests using the facilities. The only way you are guaranteed to get a bed is if you are up at 6am daily to reserve. • Premium drinks not included although you don’t know about this until you arrive. On one occasion asking for a Pina Colada, I was told I couldn’t have one but it wouldn’t have coconut milk as I didn't have an premium wrist band. We were never told about a premium upgrade when we booked nor when we arrived at the hotel • We were told there was nightly entertainment. This wasn't true. We saw 3 nights of entertainment as there was nothing on 4 of the 7 nights and the 3 nights, we saw lasted for about one and half hours. After that there was zero to do. • The App to book restaurants doesn’t work. When we spoke to guest services to complain she offered us a day bed as an apology (£22). However, knowing we had already complained about several things we were told we could only get the guest bed if we left a 5-star TripAdvisor review. So, we declined this offer. • The kids club app doesn’t work meaning you had to walk down to the kid’s club building every day and hang around to see if there was any space for your child. This just isn’t acceptable. • The day beds app didn't work either meaning anything you wanted to book you had to walk to reception or guest services to book • They allowed by 2-year-old in on day 2 but not again said she was too young, so this ruined some of our plans. • When we booked it wasn't made clear that the only restaurant that was included was the buffet restaurant • Nor was we informed that when in the restaurants you can only choose beer and wine, any other drinks would have to be fetched from the main bar • The food quality in the main was poor. Cheap cuts of meat and fish and very little variety. Even the “premium” restaurants were very poor. • We all ended up with bad stomachs after day 2 which I believe was down to the poor quality of the food • We couldn’t even drink in the sunset bar as they only serve premium drinks meaning there was one place to go in the evenings. A big courtyard with nothing on 4 nights out of the 7 we were there. Again, totally misleading when booking as you are led to believe there is entertainment daily and also discos etc • The splash park was chaotic and dangerous. Children running up slides the wrong way, teenagers abusing the equipment and the lifeguard never moved all holiday to tell them to stop • The splash park restaurant area was full of wasps, flies and birds all helping themselves to food we were expected to eat. The food was of very very poor quality and some of the food was undercooked • Again, a distinct lack of staff around the facility bordering on illegal I would say given the number of guests. • Despite complaining about one air con not working properly (not cool and the other rattling) neither was fixed. Told Hotel and Tui reps on four occasions, it was never fixed • Also explained in one room we had no toiletries, again in the Severn days non were replenished • Cups and glasses were never cleaned or changed during the whole 7 day's • One evening we came back to the room after a day at the splash park and there was no water available via the taps. It took 3 hours to get the water on. Despite complaining and asking for a call to our toom as an update it never came which meant we had to keep walking 10 minutes to reception to find out what was happening • TUI states this is a 5 star hotel but hotel staff kept telling us it was an 4 star almost like it was an excuse for the poor experience • Advertised as a beach front hotel but there are no hotel facilities on the beach. All the sunbeds and parasols are private and must be paid for. So, you drag the entire family down there to find out its going to cost you £50. Again, misleading advertising. As you can see there are many issues with this holiday that all need resolving and to be frank this was one of the worse holidays I’ve ever been on. Not only do I feel you have miss sold this holiday to us some of the fundamental standards of any decent hotel just weren’t present. I am angry that I have wasted £6000.

A fantastic holiday and would certainly recommend this all inclusive ‘TUi’ resort. We stayed for October half-term’23 and the weather was a perfect 24-26C and sunny. A very restful break. Like many who have probably read some negative comments linked to this hotel, we felt like we were taking a small risk prior to arriving, which was completely uncalled for - none of the negative comments were accurate. All-Inclusive stays can be a disaster if the food and drink was terrible….and this certainly is not the case here. The standard all inclusive is absolutely perfect unless you’re massively into an extensive list of cocktails. Estrella, cava rose, rose, sangria and any alcoholic drink you can think of is pretty much made all day, it’s just the G&T / Rum & Coke would be local spirits and the tonic certainly isn’t FeverTree. The bar staff were so quick and you never queued more than 3mins….. No one tried to upsell us to Premium All inclusive, and for us not relevant. Those that did upgrade seemed to have some magical looking cocktails, and for the cost of 1 1/2 cocktails you could get a pink band… or if u judged wanted one you could buy 1. One comment mentioned no access to water - that’s rubbish - there’s so much bottled water available all the time and the bars are always open, I can’t understand where this comment came from. The food options were extensive and I’ve certainly enjoyed that far too side too much. The quality isn’t Michelin Star but good, and most importantly such variation daily for all meals that every member of the family was berry content - and 9 & 11 year old boys can be fussy. The deserts were also fab, and I’m not a desert person We went to the Italian Restaurant on site once - which was like a standard Italian restaurant and served good Italian food - we all did pizza and the quality was great. The Beach is worth exploring and the sea is so warm and the sand soft. The beach is public - not private - and the hotel borders the beach but doesn’t run the Sun loungers. One comment ignorantly slammed the hotel for charging for Sun loungers - laughable. Jose ran the activities - Pilates, yoga, aqua-aerobics, water polo ( a daily adults match and a daily kids match which were awesome), and tennis etc.. he was awesome. We spent every day at The Retreat. It is not far from the main residential site. Less than 200metres…. so no need to stress it’s too far to walk like some comments mentioned. Opens at 10.30 and shuts at 6…. Great as it has the aqua park, 2 great pools and that’s where the 5 aside football pitch and 2 tennis courts reside. Snacks (inc.loads of fruit) area available all day and lunch 12.30-3pm. Ramon led things at The Retreat and was awesome! The service from him and his team was amazing. Salvatore in particular (and Ramon) served me probably too many times to remember and again was a credit to the resort! I’m a keen cyclist and next time I’d be tempted to bring my bike - great road surfaces, great climbs and very scenic. It’s a testing terrain for joggers. The sea is calm and awesome for swimmers. We stayed in a swim-up room which was great. The rooms are adequate for a family of 4 to stay in, but couldn’t be any smaller. Beds are comfortable and the black out blinds make for a perfect nights’ sleep. Our room was east facing, and the way it was positioned you’d only get use of it between 10-12….. so would strongly asking for a West Facing (facing the sea), as they would have much more sun and usability than we had. We booked via the hotel directly, from its website, and was much cheaper than booking via TUI and you were treated exactly the same, getting your TUI blue wrist bands on arrival etc. so worth checking out during your booking process. My only negative comment that could be looked at is the €14 per day charge to use the gym. All hotels I’ve stayed at that have gyms are free to use. Maybe it’s linked to the SPA operation which borders The Retreat, and a separate commercial entity, however I think they need to carve out a commercial model that could work to benefit the few customers who’d use it. All in all this holiday was an absolute cracker, and just what was needed. I’d just wished I’d read what I’ve just written, before setting off to remove any anxiety on what we were letting ourselves in for, as it was so unjust!!! We will be back - thank you!

We had previously stayed here when it was a Sensatori so we were expecting changes. There always has been a lot of negativity around this hotel - but it will always be the one for us. It is so beautiful! Room - We stayed in a family room with sliding doors - we paid a small upgrade for this as I kept checking with Tui for when one is available . For us it’s perfect ! Clean . No robes or slippers, water or coffee replen but that’s ok , can live with that . Pools - are great , good atmosphere. We enjoy the retreat (never a problem getting a bed even in peak times). The walk down to the STUNNING beach is just glorious, and we would have a drink in the beach bar not attached to the hotel, most evenings . We aren’t ones to use the hotel entertainment and good job really as it was hit and miss . Cabana - worth the 20Euros ! We hired one and less hassle than getting up for a sunbed (yes we did this - no choice)! Food - last time we had so much more choice . It wasn’t half as good . Breakfast was the best for me , and the view as you enjoy a coffee in the morning is definitely a huge draw to this hotel. Also the staff are amazing in the restaurant - it was just a bit bland and disappointing . Kids loved it tho ! They also loved the ice creams from the bar We didn’t upgrade our wristbands but it was fine . We ate out a few times during our holiday so that balanced the food out . Overall - for the price you pay - and the fact it is Ibiza - I really think it is hard to beat . We have stayed in many on the island over our years as a couple and then a family . For a family hotel with lovely pools, beautiful location and nice atmosphere - this is defo the one . Esp with the comfy bed !!!! Already booked to return in 2023 !
