Everything about my stay at the Chateau de la Treyne was wonderful. A beautiful chateau in the heart of French countryside but within easy reach of the local attractions. The surroundings, the chateau, the members of staff and the cuisine and bar were all 'impeccable'. There was a warm welcome - especially from the owner herself. I did not want...

During a French road-trip, we planned a 5-night stay at La Treyne with our 3 young boys. Although in the Lot, the hotel is very well located to enjoy all of the Dordogne sightseeing and managed within an hour's drive to visit all the major sites. The hotel has a unique location and most pictures will demonstrate that. We booked...

When we were driving up to the Chateau we saw it from a distance and it was a wonder that it was placed what looked to be so precariously on a mountain. The picture in the brochure was just like it looked in person. The rooms are well appointed and the staff was exceptionally excellent with suggestions of sites, where...

This was the second excellent hotel we stayed at during this summer's visit to the Perigord. My husband's brief was for me to find hotels of character, not too large, peacefully located in the countryside, with reputations for good food - and with river views - and the Chateau de la Treyne certainly filled his requirements in every way. The...

What a lovely experience this stay was! A superb building, lovely helpful staff and amazing breakfasts! This is not a place to rush things, but if you are not hurried, the castle and grounds will reveal their secrets and quirks to you, one by one. I would recommend a car; taxis are expensive but the staff organised them easily and...

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed! Absolutely wonderful location, in the heart of one of the most beautiful regions of France; fabulous castle, lovingly restored and fitted with all modern amenities; plenty of outdoors activities at the castle's door, tennis courts and a serene, beautifully designed swimming pool; impecable, friendly service, with attention to detail;...

Thank you very much for this nice comment. We are delighted to see that you had such a good time. We completely restored the DUC room in 2015 and I am very happy about the result. The view is just amazing. I will take other pictures and I will put them on our next homepage. All my best wishes and...

This is a beautiful chateau hotel in a 14th century castle overlooking the Dordogne River in a peaceful idyllic situation. Although it is obviously not a budget venue it does offer luxury on every level. Dinner on the terrace is an unforgettable experience. The grounds are vast offering walking trails through forests,a large swimming pool, tennis courts and extensive gardens. The...

I felt like a princess staying in this perfect chateau. The restaurant was like a royal palace. The views were incredible and the grounds are picturesque. All the rooms are unique and luxurious. The service was the key! They knew everyone's name and made our entire stay perfection!
