Very nice place in the forest but vastly overpriced particularly the rather poor meal. A pity as it is a beautiful dining room. Much better value elsewhere even if not quite as nice surroundings and furniture.

You'd expect this place to be haunted. You approach along a narrow track through thick forest, expecting creepers to reach out and grab you at every turn, and listening for the baying of the wolves. Finally a clearing, with this imposing ivy-clad edifice. Inside there appears to be only one person (although you'll later discover that there's also a seriously...

My daughter and I stayed here on Friday, July 4th, 2014. We arrived, sadly, late as we had had a very long drive that day including two "getting-lost" issues. The drive in to the "manor of the forest" was wonderful, through what appeared to be deep woods. At the end of the road, this huge manoir. We entered the foyer...

We spent two nights here by accident when our original location was closed. What a happy event! Arrival at Le Manoir, crossing over fields and meadows and then a few kms in the forest, is a wonderful surprise. The manor house is tall and impressive, if not exactly beautiful. Upon entering the reception room, you already know that this is...

A fantastic, quirky, old mansion with grand garden bordered by forest. Travelling solo, I booked into a standard double on second floor and enjoyed lovely views of garden. Bed extremely comfortable: i had the best nights sleep in ages! The food in the restaurant is very good, reasonably priced, with excellent local Loir wine to complement the fish meal. For...

Only if you have a car. Well placed in the forest the hotel keep something from the characteristics of an old mansion. Architecture, scenery and the gastronomy are fine but... in this case old means ...oldish and neglected - regarding the accommodation. If properly refurbished it can easily switch to fantastic. But at 50 euro/night it's kind of OK for a...

This hotel is a little 'tired' from outside, but the grounds are tremendous and the lady receptionist, (who was also the accountant and the waitress) was extremely helpful. The room was clean and neat and served our purposes as we were attending a wedding in Oucques.

Stayed one night at this delightfully positioned Manoir which is set in beautiful tranquil surroundings. The charming lady host made every effort to ensure a comfortable stay and the evening dinner was quite outstanding, accompanied by very fine wine. Breakfast was served in a typical manorial fashion and overall the experience of staying here was very much worthwhile!

Lovely place with a wonderful host. Felt more like a house than a hotel. Dinner was lovely, though we were the only ones in the dinning room for most of the night. Can't comment on Breakfast. This isn't a modern hotel with all mod cons which is part of it's charm. You can really feel the atmosphere of the place

The positive Trip Advisor reviews led us to this lovely place in the northern part of the Loire region and it lives up to its reputation. The host is extremely kind and helpful. Definitely plan to have dinner here as the food and wine are excellent. This is also a very dog friendly establishment - our German shepherd mix had...
