Detailed Reviews
Went here for Sunday lunch, was absolutely delicious! They were offering beef, pork and turkey, the only one I didn’t try was the turkey. The beef and pork were amazing and the crackling was fantastic. Highly recommend for food and good value.

This pub has had a makeover with decking outside and the interior decorated and "lightened". Draught beer is well kept. There is a restaurant but we did not eat as limited menu and seemed a bit pricey, also chips, peas, tomato or mash with everything!!

Paul and his team provide a friendly welcoming service. The dining experience is exceptional with the freshly cooked meals a joy to eat both for lunch and dinner. Great value for money.

went there with my family for an evening meal, what a disappointment after reading other reviews, the Welsh sausage dinner was good apart from the well undercooked sausages !!! .The impression we got was that the pub had one thing in mind and that was drinks, food order, would have been OK had it been done by professionally trained staff, our meals came in a completely disorganised manner, those that had food could start or wait for the rest of the table to be served, it was clear that if there was more than two people they couldn't cope properly, the apple pie desert was a soggy mess, virtually inedible. some of the other meals we saw looked ok, but we felt that for pub food it was poorly prepared and expensive. Nobody during the whole of our meals came and asked if everything was ok, There was a £5.00 per head for a booking to be made, deposit perhaps but not per head, perhaps it was a Covid closure catchup.

We arrived at 5:15, grabbed a table and were promptly served - we asked about food being served that night and the lady checked her watch and said, yes, but at 6pm.
We said we were happy to wait and have drinks first, having now expressed our intention to stay for food.
We ended moving inside as the weather became a bit chilly, but that was beside the point... Around 5:55 my husband said he'd get a top up of drinks and grab some menus. We made a decision quickly about what we'd have and a few moments later a staff member came over to us and told us that they were no longer taking food orders.
I was disappointed that it had taken the staff 45mins to conclude this knowing that we had the intention of eating. They weren't rushed off their feet and it's not like we paled into the background of a busy pub/restaurant.
Luckily my husband hadn't got the fresh drinks before getting menu's and we were able to swiftly move on. I checked the time on my phone once outside - 6:03pm.
The staff member did apologise, however I'm still wondering how it took so long to establish no more food orders were being taken and tell us given it was mentioned on arrival

I don’t even know where to start! This was an appalling for our lunch time meal . To start off it took a very long while to arrive even though there was minimal customers. 3 friends ordered Garlic bread and only one was supplied and they told us they had no more despite the fact there were little customers and it was only lunchtime so it hadn’t been open long 🍽️. When the food came out It was clearly all shop brought apart from the chicken with soggy batter and more oil then actual chicken it tasted like pure cod when it was ment to be from a chicken . Don’t even get me started on the chips 🍟 I turned my chip upside down and as what I saw I wouldn’t call it a chip!! More like oil fried in potato skin 🤢. My other friend ordered hand made battered cod and it came as birdseyes fish fingers he was disgusted! After our shocking experience we will not return and please do not! Bring your children here.

We were recommended the Springwell Inn as a dog friendly venue for eating... made the journey there Saturday only to be told they 'weren't doing food... but were the rest of the week', went back on Wednesday only to be told it's bookings only and even if we wanted to book for Thursday our dogs weren't allowed with us.
Signs all over the front about dog friendly and plenty if outdoor tables empty... we won't be making the journey to eat here again - And wouldn't recommend you do either!

Worst Customer Service I've Ever Encounted From The Man Dishing Out The Carvery! The Other Staff Who Were All Women Were Great Couldn't Fault Them One Bit! This Man Was Rude, Unwelcoming and Quite Frankly His Food Was Awful! When Asked For An Extra Yorkshire Pudding, He Shook His Head In Disgust. Stuffing was Uncooked And The Rest Of The Food Tasted Bland And As If It Had Been Sat Around For Hours On End! We Won't Be Coming Back That's For Sure!

Went for a birthday meal with my husband at the springwell Inn whilst away on a short break in pendine sands. Food was fantastic, excellent value for money and lots of it. I recommend you wear elasticated trousers. Service was great. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Will definitely be returning when next in the area.
