Detailed Reviews
Visited for a week with family. When we arrived, we were impressed by how close to the beach the park is, and the “non commercial” feel to it.
Didn’t do check in as currently you just drive to your caravan and the keys are on the table.
The first night, we didn’t realise until 10pm that there wasn’t any bedding for the sofa bed, and despite numerous calls, none was brought until the following late morning.
This was frustrating as we’d booked a 2 bedroom caravan, advertised as sleeping 4-6 people, and there were 6 of us on that night. My other half and I had to find other accommodation to sleep in for that night; as the beds didn’t even have mattress protectors so we didn’t feel comfortable using them without any sheets etc.
We found the caravan was acceptably cleaned but could’ve been better; for example, the bin within the kitchen cupboard was dirty and stained from “bin juice” in the bottom and the cutlery drawer had dog hairs in (we were upgraded to a pet friendly caravan, we didn’t have any pets with us hence why we noticed this). The floors could also have done with a good mop. Given the current situation this didn’t fill us with confidence regarding the cleanliness!
Overall we found the accommodation acceptable for our week’s stay; the shower had really good water pressure, all the kitchen amenities you could need were there and there was a nice view out to sea. The TV worked well and we took advantage of the WiFi (additional cost). The pillows and duvets provided were comfortable and the park was quiet so easy to sleep and relax.
The park has lots of nice beaches a drive away, and the chippy and Chinese in Pendine are tasty. There are also a couple of cafes, pubs, and shops within walking distance and the beach appears to be dog friendly.

After reading the early reviews we were so close to not even going as we were so worried about the cleanliness etc. We had always planned on giving the caravan a quick clean when we first arrived anyway but seeing the pics and reviews about the awful state of some caravans left us really concerned. We needn’t have been! I don’t know if we were just lucky but our caravan was absolutely spot on, we really couldn’t have asked for more. It was very clean on arrival (we still re-cleaned but we are in a pandemic... if we weren’t, we wouldn’t have bothered). We stayed in the Brun caravan (40 Dukes Meadow) and everything we needed was there. Apart from WiFi!! As someone else mentioned, the WiFi and phone signal was non existent although we could get great signal and 4G down on the beach so we just used our phones when out and about! It’s a bit of a pain not being able to google and plan your trips in the evenings but we managed. We really did use it as a base for exploring, we spent some time down on Pendine Sands beach which is a short, pleasant stroll and we found it was perfect in early evening when the crowds have gone and you can really enjoy the peace and beauty of the place. We visited numerous other beaches in the area which were all gorgeous.. an absolute hidden gem is Telpyn Beach near Amroth (about 10 mins drive, park on the side of the road and walk through a field and down a very steep hill but totally worth it for the absolutely stunning beach and amazing rock pools (perfect for a toddler!). We can’t comment on the park really as we didn’t use any of the facilities but the actual caravan and location were great! I felt I had to write a review in case others were in the awful position of anxiety we were before we went... there really was no need for us to worry, we had a fantastic time!

First of all I'd like to say that I can't comment on the caravans rented out by the site as we went through Airbnb and a private rental (ours was gorgeous and spotless) However I do feel people should be aware of a few things about the site and resort. Like others on here I was not keen on the layout of the site and didn't like having to walk my 5 and 2 year old down the main road to get to the entertainment complex. Also like others we weren't able to book swimming slots unfortunately. I understand Wales is still operating under restrictions but it seems wrong to take money for entertainment passes if this is the case! The signal and WiFi is shocking. We paid for the in park wi fi as we literally couldn't get any sort of signal whatsoever and it was intermittent at best. Most of the time it wasn't picking it up. Again I understand there are going to be issues based on the location but why charge for it?
I will mention some good points. Our children loved the entertainment and contrary to what others have said about the staff we found them friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and there are plenty of places to get ice creams, coffees and beach items during the day. There aren't great deal of eating places but we had 2 lovely takeaways from the Chinese just off the beach car park. Can highly recommend!
One last thing to mention is that it is half an hour to the nearest supermarket so planning ahead with meals is essential. The local shops only stock basics and essentials.
Despite all this we have had a lovely week and I love South Wales.

Property's Favourite Review
On entering into pendine, the roads are very narrow. As you get into pendine there's a few cafes to the right and 2 pubs. Shop to the left selling souvenirs. On the left is a shop called pitstop. Sell items at reasonable prices and huge variety of stock. Nisa local just next door is twice as dear. The bar and grill is on the left and the chippy. Bar and grill toilets are disgusting. Food was OK though. Enjoyed a very nice burger there. Didn't eat at the chippy as we went just a bit further down road and there's one there and cheaper. Caravan was clean but found dust in vent in bathroom and behind the bin as if noones bothered to pull it out to mop. Also bathroom radiator dusty and bottom of shower could do with a good clean in corners where shower door is. Quiet site across from beach which is endless and clean. Speed museum across the road too and cafes. If going the speed museum get the £10 ticket as this also gets you in the Dylan Thomas boat house. Bistro on the bay cafe is lovely. Had the biggest breakfast bap there for £6 and it was gorgeous. Small arcades on site. Didn't use entertainment. Visited cauldey Island whilst staying. Colby gardens and had a lovely dinner in amroth after a walk in the front in pirates cafe. Laugharne cake and walked to Dylan Thomas boathouse from there. Speed museum. Carew Castle and the tidal Mill is interesting. Tenby is lovely. Went to the merchant House. Small but staff very informative. Lots of shops to discover in tenby in the side streets and a small brewery. We stayed in the one bed caravan. Mattress was comfy and pillows. Take a good walk along the beach to discover caves to one end and a old shipwreck if you look hard enough at the other end

I was surprised to see that there were no mattress protectors on the beds just a sheet on the mattress. The caravan although exactly as advertised with regard layout it was not very clean, so they need to have a word with their cleaning staff. In fact I went out and bought disinfectant wipes to ensure all surfaces were clean. The kitchen was ill equipped for a family wanting to cater for themselves. It was very expensive for what it was, they did not supply toilet tissue which we would of had if we had booked into B&B or hotel and it would have cost less per night. We had fish and chips from the chippy next to the sunbeam restaurant. The staff did not wear face coverings or gloves, I saw one member of staff wipe his nose on the back of his hand whilst serving another customer with pickled onions from a jar. The fish was inedible the piece my grandson had had lots of bones in it which could have choked him, the chips were supposed to be a large portion but they were more a like a regular portion two jumbo sausages which were edible. I had to pay just short of £30 for the meal and ended up putting most if not nearly all in the bin. I was disgusted. I will never stay there again and advise anyone else thinking of booking Pendine Sands Caravan Park to think again. You would be better off renting somewhere just outside and driving in for the beach, which I hae to say is lovely and safe but nothing to do with Park Dean.

Booked to come here back in may seen as our holiday to turkey had been cancelled, we booked 2 dog freindly caravans, we arrived on sat 17th oct, both vans clean big and smelt fresh, no smell of dogs at all. We knew things were going be a bit different but this didnt impact on are time there, everything was well laid out and covid safe, track and trace well in place in all the venues, we were suppose to be there until the 24th but unfortunately due
to wales going into a 17 day fire break we had to leave today 23rd, but had a call from a lovley lady on monday explaining the situation, and that we would be refunded for the lost night, she was very
apologetic to which i said dont worry its
not your fault. Overall we had a great time
here lovley park friendly staff, dogs loved
running on the beach, (not allowed on in
summer though). There is also a beautiful chinese restaurant on the sea front right opposite the resort, lotus fusion, well worth a try. will defo return to pendine sand hopfully when life is back to some normal.

My three daughters and I really enjoyed our 5 day break. The caravan was compact but spotlessly clean and met all our needs. Checking in was easy too. The park itself is well maintained, and the location is great - right next to the beach, and close to cafes and mini supermarkets. We tried the chipshop next to the site and the Chinese takeaway across the road and both were excellent. The chipshop has a family feast deal for £19.99 and there was more than enough food for the 4 of us - I definitely recommend that. The thing we most enjoyed was the entertainment on site. The team all work really hard to keep the kids entertained. There were activities throughout the day, and discos and games with Emily, Lara, Scott and Tom for the little ones at 5pm, followed by entertainment for the whole family. My 8 year old daughter was particularly taken with Scott who was really kind and friendly to us all. Lastly, the drinks were really quite reasonably priced, try the cocktails - they were amazing. We'll be back at Easter, and can't wait.

We have just stayed a week at Parkdean Pendine Sands and whilst we enjoyed the holiday this is mainly due to the South Wales area and the family attitude to always make our holidays fun. The layout of the site is weird with the entertainment, pool, arcade and shops at one end and a 15 min walk to reception and our caravan at the other end. We stayed in 20 Dukes Meadow caravan which was OK. It was clean, a little dated and not worth the money we'd spent for the holiday compared to Haven. However, this is covid times and companies are milking it in terms of holidays at home. There was a hole by the toilet seat that was covered by vinyl and everyone thought we'd put our foot right through it. The sofas were also very uncomfortable to sit in and had nail clippings on the ledge behind them (YUK!). The beds were also uncomfortable to sleep in due to cheap mattresses where you could feel the springs. Forget about WiFi, it was non-existant. We tried the in-park WiFi for about a minute and that was no better so don't pay extra for the upgrade! We decided to roll with it and just try to work without any internet but actually this did cause us many problems concerning the organisation of the holiday. We couldn't check out places to go in the area or see reviews for places. We couldn't book day trips either without having to walk 15mins to the entertainment area to obtain WiFi. Due to covid there are limited places and you have to book online using the Parkdean website/app. Trouble is without Internet you can't do that. So we walked down to reception to book swimming sessions at the pool for my son and nephew and discovered there were none left all week. The receptionist said to ask at the pool as there were supposedly extra evening sessions. So we had to walk 15 mins to the pool to be told rudely by the pool staff there were no sessions left all week even though it was advertised on the website. We found all the staff to have a can't be bothered attitude and gave us no help whatsoever when we complained about the pool and WiFi...we were told "that's just the way it is". Unacceptable. The entertainment was poor, very amateurish and the venue is very small. As it is so tiny you have to queue from about 6pm to get in. Ridiculous when you have teenage kids as you have to sit through hours of kiddies time and bingo to be able to get in to see the evening show's entertainment (which was dire really so we only went twice). There are hardly any places to eat in the area as they were either shut or didn't serve food (both pubs didn't serve food and the coffee shop was closed all week). All shops closed at 8pm. You can only eat so many chips from the chipshop! The only redeeming feature of this site is the beach really. Safe to say we won't stay again at Parkdean Pendine Sands at it really isn't value for money for the facilities and entertainment.

It is our third year in Pendine Sands and for me and my hubby it is the perfect place for us to unwind and relax. We have always found the staff lovely and most helpful. We have found the onsite facilities second to none. On the Park is The Duck Inn and is a cozy, comfortable clubhouse which shows all the sports with free wifi and the Sands complex is home to many great acts ranging from comedians, tribute bands, vocalists and Bingo. There is also a kiddies club with a full seasonal itinerary to give the ‘grown ups’ a break. There is also areas for the kids to play around the park. The surrounding area is beautiful, with the site positioned opposite a 7 mile stretch of safe beach which is perfect for dog lovers and it is also dog friendly all year round. You can also horse ride on the beach. There are many eateries around the site, ranging from a chip shop, café bars and the Sunbeam restaurant (can definitely recommend the full English)!! Around Pendine itself are a couple of pubs with great atmosphere, coffee shops and an award winning Chinese restaurant which overlooks the beach as well as doing takeaways. Pendine is ideally situated and as well as others, the coastal towns of Saundersfoot and Tenby are about 30 mins away with a regular bus service from Pendine situated by the Park entrance. There are also lots of places to visit for children, Folly Farm, Marros Horse Riding Centre, Morfa Adventure but to name a few. We love it and can’t recommend it enough.

This was our first time at Pendine sands and what can I say other than we had a great time. The weather was on our side and the beach was a dream for the children and dog. We read the reviews before we went and I must say I was really apprehensive about what I would find opening our caravan door! There was no need for any worry we was at Windsor 101 dog friendly and it was spotless and not a whiff of dog to be smelt. The caravan was very spacious for us as a family of 5 and a Labrador. We were right by the entertainment block which was quiet and very well managed in the current situation (we used this once for the children but seams to be a lot going on activity wise) . The arcades are small but for me this was great otherwise I’d be bankrupt. There is very little phone signal but this was fab as we spent time playing card games etc. We only ate out twice, once from the chip shop and on our last night at the sun beam both really nice food. All staff are friendly and as mentioned well run.
