The location is great - right on the beach front and there is easy access to some great restaurants close by. The checkin and checkout process was easy. The rooms were standard when it comes to a motel, clean and in need of a little repair but we found it acceptable for what we paid. The soap in the bathroom...

We have be loyal customers of the Racoon Lodge for over 15 years. Recently we had an incredibly unpleasant experience with the front desk staff. The gentleman on the phone would not let us book a room because of wanting to use two different credit cards (one for reservation, one for payment) anytime we asked what the problem was he...

The people who run the place are nice and it is right across from the beach so those are the pluses. It just really needs some serious renovations and updating to get rid of the ick factor. New carpeting/flooring and new mattresses would be a good start.

One of the worst places I've stayed in, a family trip turned into a disaster as the room above us erupted with noise at 3 a.m. and the owners were able to do little to control it. We had asked to leave but were told a $50 deposit would be kept for just one night! Only consolation was one night...

You wouldn't expect much of a place called Raccoon Inn, and you shouldn't because the rooms are dark, dated, musty smelling. Beds are super springy, carpet is super old and dirty. Typical small town motel. Right across from the beach, which is it's only redeeming quality.

Grotesque. Shame these lazy people bought up the best location on Lake Shore drive. The room smells like black mold and the staff is horrible. For $160 you should not have to worry about the air you breathe while you sleep. Honestly if u cant find another room in town just sleep in car... it will be a far better...
