Janet and John are wonderful hosts and cooked us the best dinner we had during our two week visit to New Zealand. Their home is very convenient for Auckland International Airport and we can recommend it to any travelers. The only drawback for us was that we needed a two bedded room and this meant we had a rollaway in...

Chestnut Ridge Farmstay was a perfect stopover for our trip from Bay of Islands to Waitomo. Janet and John welcomed us into their home and then suggested a wander around the farm. As the name suggests, lots of Chestnut trees and animals as well. The en suite bedroom was a good size, well equipped and separated from the main house...

Chestnut Ridge is a wonderful spot with perfect hosts. Janet & John really make you feel at home with a warm welcome and wonderful food. Knowing we were arriving direct from a long flight they invited us into their home to relax until our room was ready and when we discovered our credit card had been blocked they gave us...

We drove direct to this lovely little b and b direct from Auckland Airport. Greeted by Janet and John who made us very welcome with a cup of tea and cookies. Our room was totally separate to the house and very conveniently placed next to the garage where we put our hire car. The room had a huge double bed...

We arrived on the Monday evening and were made very welcomed. The hosts had provided all of the facilities promised for the children (3.5 years and 19 months) in terms of beds and high chairs, and we had a very welcomed meal together. Breakfast was a buffet style allowing us to feed the children at our own pace, and after...

We had the pleasure of spending the last night of our holiday in NZ at Chestnut Ridge and were only sorry we couldn't have been there longer. John (originally from Leeds) and Janet (from the USA) were first rate hosts, welcoming us initially with cold drinks - much needed on a hot day - as well as friendly chat. Our...

We stayed at Chestnut Ridge Farmstay for one night after arriving from the South Island. We arrived at about 5-6pm after Janet and John, the owners, emailed really easy directions from Auckland airport. It was about a 45 minute drive. We were greeted on arrival and invited to put the car in the garage which we did. Our room was...

“There are two rooms to choose from - if you want the most privacy, opt for the Super King room, which is detached slightly from the house but with its own bathroom. The queen room is inside the main house and slightly less private, but still lovely.”

“The external room is a little more private although the internal room can be closed off from the rest of the house and has an external entry.”
