This small hotel is near to the local beach and restaurants of Costa Rei. Parking spaces are available on site which is a big plus. There are only two stories and therefore there are small blocks set in lush gardens.
Our room was on the ground floor and had a small terrace at the back which was really lovely to sit out on with a glass of wine at night as it was surrounded by flowers.
Through the gardens there is a nice pool, though with comfortable beds around it. Though I would say that it does need a bit of upgrading.
The reception were really helpful and pointed out places of interest.
A couple of points though
The queen bed was two beds pushed together. We managed but was annoying.
There are sunbeds on a piece of beach which is private to the hotel, however, there is still a 25 euro charge. This seems totally wrong to me and as I have travelled the world is the first time I have seen this happen and should be taken into account when looking at the value of the property.
Breakfast was included but apparently due to COVID even now the breakfast was doled out from behind a table. Each item needed a different plate. Food was uncovered and unfortunately covered with wasp. It was for this reason we did not use the onsite restaurant at other times.
Overall a lovely place to stay as long as you keep the issues above in mind.

Nestled in beautiful gardens, hotel Albaruja is nothing short of a tranquil oasis. Staff are the most efficient you’ll find in this part of town, and overall service has been 5star. Our room (1st floor) was spacious and clean, with good air con and a balcony over looking the gardens. The room was comfortable for us and our toddler, and was peaceful through the day and night so we could rest and sleep well. The room had a small fridge as well. Bathroom was a good size, not huge and with a shower(no bath). The room was cleaned every day. Breakfast is great, everything you could want from cereals and fruits to cooked bacon/eggs as well as an array of Sardinian specialties to chose from. We also had dinner a few times at the hotel, and again, service was impeccable and food delicious as well as relatively good value for money for the two courses set menu.
We really appreciated the speedy delivery of a plate of pasta for a hungry toddler! The pool area is very relaxing and was never busy. The pool is a good length for swimming and also has steps for little ones to get in and out of easily. All pool beds have a shade available as well. Overall a fantastic stay at this hotel and we have to say a huge GRAZIE to all the staff for such a wonderful stay.

Staff was very friendly, we could do an early check-in without having requested it beforhand.
The light in the bathroom was a little bit dark, but the rest of the room was good, very clean and we had a cute balcony.
Breakfast was overall good, the coffee excellent. Because of Covid it was not possible to get the food yourself and you had to ask for everything. For example when you wanted marmelade they asked you what kind but it was impossible to see what flavors they even had.

The location close to beach is what saves this place.

Let’s start with the good:

Easy parking outside

Receptionists are friendly and helpful

Breakfast food selection is good

You can borrow a parasol and chairs for the beach.

They have a beach bar where you can get some cold drinks and nibbles.

The bad:

Pool is dirty, tiles are green, it’s also emptier than it should be. So are the paths around it, never saw anyone cleaning.

Room was big but dark and dated, grey/brown walls and lighting don’t help.

Bistro opens at 5:30 pm, nothing served before if you are in the hotel.

Location is by the side of a busy road and local noise and music on weekends is loud.

Breakfast staff is friendly but in need of training,it’s of plates on people’s tables they never cleared, even when they were free they didn’t have the initiative to do it without being asked

We stayed here for the second week of August and we enjoyed our stay, though I couldn’t say it was anything to write home about. Although I have no complaints, I would have liked the beach facilities to have mirrored the quality of the hotel. It was rather lacklustre, and I expected it to match the general feel of the hotel. The restaurant was something we discovered quite late during our stay, and I somewhat regret that - the quality of the service was excellent and whoever is in the kitchen, really knows his/her way around a kitchen. The food was delicious.

The Photos are very deceptive. The rooms are very dark and dingy, with tired and faded décor and rickety worn out furniture. The Dinning room is not shabby chic but just shabby. There were flies on the food on the tiny little Breakfast table and there was very limited breakfast choice. Its more like a old fashioned Irish Bed & Breakfast We were extremely disappointed and we do not believe this is a 4 star Hotel. woudld NEVER go there again

Beautiful little hotel in the most perfect location. Each room has its own little garden or balcony. The staff were extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the beach is literally a 5 min walk. The rooms were a good size, with a little fridge and huge bed and probably the best pillow I’ve ever had . A little old fashioned but this really didn’t matter as everything was so perfect. Beautiful pool area and breakfast was also delicious. This was also included in the price. We were gutted we only had 1 night as neither of us wanted to leave. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

It would be a decent 3 star hotel. The rooms are large and have individual patios/gardens. However, the rooms are very outdated. While the shower was updated, all furniture, decor, bedding, etc. were uncomfortable and outdated.

You can walk to a market, restaurants, and the beach. However, the beach is definitely not the nicest beach. We paid to reserve chairs on the beach which we did not use and opted to go to a much nice beach, just a short drive away.

We wouldn’t recommend.

This is our second staying at Albaruja. We like the atmosphere and the hospitality, the food and the fabulous sea. Everything is suggesting a third holiday. It is highly recommended. Suggestion for improvement: add mosquito nets so guests use less air conditioning at night, when the breeze cools down the environment naturally.

We stayed at Hotel Albaruja for a weekend and had a great time. The hotel is just a short walk to the beach and there was a bar and umbrellas that could be rented at the beach. The breakfast at the hotel was great. My wife and I had a great time!
