Detailed Reviews
It is the 12th time that I go to Sardinia.
This time, my travel agency chose the Veratour Village in Costa Rei, a 4 star hotel.
The transfer from the airport to the village takes 1 hour.
Young people under 18 are not allowed.
I chose a comfortable large room on the top floor, facing the garden and pool.
The village is extremely clean and green everywhere.
The staff is kind and up to the standard of the place.
The wi-fi signal is weak, but covers the whole village.
During the night there is absolute silence and you can sleep without problems.
The quality and variety of the food is very high and you can choose among fresh green salads, steamed vegetables, fresh fish, meat, cold cuts and cheese.
The food service is assisted by dedicated staff, and the service is quick.
The variety of fresh fruit and cakes is extraordinary: a real riot for your eyes.
The bar, facing the pool and with table service, is open until 1am, and the service is excellent.
The beach is really marvellous: wide, 21 Km long, with ash-like clean sand.
The water is clear, with a lot of fish and slowly degrades: very safe for people who can't swim.
It is very difficult to find such an extraordinary beach everywhere and only 50 meters away from the village.
This is the reason why I like to go to this side of Sardinia: Costa Rei, often.
The sun chair and umbrella are given by the local lifeguard who assigns the place for the whole period and the price is included.
The first and the second row are paid locally, extra.
During the night there is soft entertainment, and the music stops at 11:30 pm.
Compared to many other places in Sardinia, here there are no mosquitoes and wasps: magnificent!
There is also a good newspaper service at the 'boutique' (the village's shop).
Given my experience in Sardinia, in this place I would complain about the lack of the daily morning offer of typical local food products, such as raw ham and aged pecorino with honey and walnuts: a divine dish!
Even on specific request, they do not provide disposable room slippers and bathrobe: I had to bring them with me: unusual for a 4 star hotel.
I would recommend getting a room on the top floor facing the poolside.
An optimal place to rest: I'd recommend going for a walk at 6 am along the long deserted beach. At that time there is only the presence of seagulls, some runners and the sunrise: unforgettable!
I think I'll return to this beautiful place: if they renovated it, they could open a luxury 5 star hotel.

This beautiful small hotel has everything that you could possibly want. Charming elegant rooms decorated in beautiful Sardinian colours.
A good size swimming pool and it's on the beach of Costa Rey (white sand and crystal clear sea). The facilities are excellent all around and even the evening entertainment is at the right level. The staff are friendly and professional. The food is of a very high standard and plentiful everything is freshly prepared by the team of chefs every day, I did "over do it" on the deserts.
If you are looking for a grown up holiday in a quintessentially chic hotel this is the place to be, professionally run, clearly by someone that knows a lot about client experience.
I have been there twice now and will be going back. We flew easyjet into Cagliari and the hotel organised a pick up from the airport.

very good restaurant service, very nice beach.
My room at the ground floor had not a nice view.
I recommend to book a first floor room with balcony.
The atmosphere was very relaxing, maybe a little too much...

Fascinated by the reviews of past years, we purchased a stay in this resort which turned out to be a real media "hoax":
. the narrated structure is cute and full of flowers, it has bare 80s/90s style houses (see photo)
. the equipment is so old that the plastic finishes are yellowed and/or worn to the point that the air conditioning symbols are almost impossible to read (see photo)
. the much-vaunted cuisine has a buffet of frozen food, fortunately well cooked, which you can still easily find on the Romagna Riviera in a three-star hotel (yes, but there at least they serve you at the table and you pay 4/5 times less)
. the animation is sad and non-existent made up of a trio of two willing Jr. led by a chief Sr. animator who complains and blames others as was done in the military
. we had paid (a lot) a supplement for the first row of umbrellas and they gave us a place practically inside the free beach separated by a rope (see photo)
. the resort is sold "adults only" but between the cries of the children on the adjacent free beach and the back and forth by bus where you are always together with all the others who go to the other "Aiazzone family" style resorts you are Only Adults only when you are in the room
. we had paid the "SEA VIEW" supplement with TERRACE (see photo and say if it seems honest to you; on booking.com this is called: PARTIAL and SIDE SEA VIEW on the rear parking side) and, after various vicissitudes, we were assigned a room with a pool view internal (this is what this accommodation is called on booking dot com, among other things you could see more of the sea from this room than from the other one in the photo) and what's more without a terrace (we are still waiting for an explanation, an apology and/or a refund ; especially for having had to hang on for days of vacation without an honest and plausible answer with directors who always talked over you without seeing and/or listening to the evidence of the facts photo-documented by you)
. the head receptionist has a haughty frown and takes customer requests as if they were a pain in the ass; I'll give you an example: "Could you please send room service to put a crosspiece in the two mattresses to join them (a crevasse forms in the middle and you fall into it)" answer: "In what sense"
. the bus driver hears someone say: "I left the stroller on the airport carousel" response on his own initiative "I'll do the tour again" and 50 people have lunch at 3.00 pm because he took an initiative without consulting the coordinator who he could do everything separately without wasting everyone's time
. the Maitre d' of the restaurant (retired and also nice) stressed in any case by the customers' requests, responds by raising his voice and arguing in public (maybe he was right but only if he found himself arguing with someone about a parking space at the coop)
. many and many gruesome episodes that lower the level of the experience you were waiting for,... yes because you spent a lot of money more than the holiday you had was worth and then you only have that of weeks and Vera Tour has it for you ruined.
P.S: 4stelleS where?! But are there inspectors for these things?! Training When? Do you know what Experiential Marketing is?! I'll give you a few more days then I'll go to the consumer association.

We would like to return because staying in this village offers true relaxation but.....
Over the years it has lost many beautiful things and reduced services and quality
The food at breakfast also needs to be improved and diversified
The entertainment and bar staff need improvement, in 2023 not up to par with lack of professionalism and always complaining
Give us back the hydromassage tub in the wellness center, the gala evening in the pool, the exhibition of paintings that made the village a true 4 star
The staff in the restaurant and breakfast area are always friendly and helpful
Definitely not recommended under 40 years old.
We'll think about it for 2024...

I gave back confidence to the structure after years and years that I go there... well absolutely to renovate... in fact it was not full even the first of August and they did last minute for the second... food well exposed but not excelled too many fried first cooked and appetizers super recycled old rooms air conditioning did not work well despite being in one of the best rooms... fights on the beach for umbrella management made terrible... good cleaning girls ... a tot of mosquitoes that I have never found there animation can take it away completely so much apart from the girls the boss you saw only in the evening ... fortunately I did not have ants in the room... in short .. to renovate lose a lot of money ... unless they only give a damn who comes 1 week and then leaves ... the sea is stra comfortable and beautiful but in Sardinia there are other places ...

+1
To the Directorate General Veratour Pompili
We went x business and vacation, zero reception, not even a glass of water. We do not talk about the ant room in every corner even in the bed, I promptly go in the direction reporting the problem, of course the veratour manager tells me what he wants it to be we are in the countryside, but I say it is not admissible such a thing people who pay 5000 6000 euros a week and feel treated like this .Personally, I people so not up to his role that he should perform his job I would send her to the kitchen to wash dishes.
Second day In the dining room, we sat down to have lunch on the sofas on the tablecloth there were ants and wall plaster, I call the waiter and he tells me immediately confidentially look I do not know what to say so much that they do not care about the customer already I had sensed that things in the room are not good, I call you the meter that tells me what problem there was!..... my God but he sees things there, there is! But I say the manager of the room where he was the one who has the duty to view the tables
The Manager and the Director are not able to manage this structure taking it as if they were there on vacation and not caring about the customer.
The structure in my opinion could do 100% obviously if managed by qualified personnel.
For the staff about the restaurant nothing to say you eat discreetly and sometimes good.
Unfortunately, we are really sorry about our business vacation, of course I hope the Directorate General will come and hear about these things happened, the structure to some potential best regards

I left for this over 18 facility the week of August with my partner and with very high expectations.
The reason for the choice fell on Costa Rei, among all the options offered by Sardinia, almost exclusively because there are no children and therefore taking it for granted that you will be able to have a real week of peace and relaxation.
the village is located on one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia, the sand is of very fine granite so it doesn't stick to the skin and the sea is postcard-perfect, all obvious... we're talking about the sex of angels...
the Costa rei is a very beautiful and well-kept small business (I read strange things but it's subjective) where with 2 steps you are in the room, at the restaurant, at the bar and on the beach.
The room assigned to us was sober, very clean and in an ideal position, close to everything but away from the noise that can arise in the evening after dinner due to shows or various music
You don't suffer from the lack of a bar or a bathroom on the beach simply because in 5 seconds flat you arrive in your room or at the swimming pool where there is a well-stocked but objectively overpriced bar, all the drinks, incredibly with the exception of the bottles of wine, whose price is very similar to that of any restaurant, are excessively overpriced.
The umbrellas, unfortunately, are crowded together, the space dedicated to guests is very little so when you move the sunbed in search of shade you risk being very, very close to the sunbed of the adjacent umbrella.
the staff, EVERYTHING, especially the one in the dining room, is exquisite, nice guys, kind, helpful and very fast, ensuring an excellent service.
There are very few entertainers, they do their best to ensure a minimum of activity even considering the average age and type of clientele
I would make a note about the excessive familiarity that some have with some guests who have been returning for years and with whom they complain about things such as the quality of the beach volleyball court or the demotivation they may have for this or that reason... we don't know never who is in the nearby umbrella and you don't know whether or not this person will go and report to the director.... a little more professionalism or cunning... just lower the tone of your voice...
The food is good, lots of it and quite varied; buffet at all meals so the real risk is that of eating too much... in any case I would consider bringing at least dinner to the table... but it would certainly require a lot more staff.
I have read terrible reviews on the quality of the food, this is certainly the most subjective parameter that can be reviewed so I won't dwell on it further.
Overall, therefore, it was a really pleasant week and a place where I would return if it weren't for the guests...
I've been thinking that people are pitiful for quite some time but here I had the definitive confirmation...
Rude, arrogant people, incapable of showing respect to people who work and who believe they are Briatore EVERYWHERE
I witnessed pitiful scenes because the restaurant opened 3 and I mean 3 minutes late, the guest in question insulted the restaurant manager and went on for a good 5 minutes complaining about this very serious thing.....
Another spent the week telling anyone she came across how the place ''sucks, eats shit and isn't up to par'', the same one, despite it being specifically stated not to feed the cats for a matter of hygiene, he went in and out of the restaurant to take things which he then took to the cats without even hiding too much with the motto ''I don't give a fuck''...... it's possible that no one Did the room notice??
People who criticized everything, always and continuously, who did not respect the basic rules of peaceful living in the slightest, sometimes causing hilarity in those who witnessed these ridiculous scenes.... I even managed to witness a half-argument on the beach over a cot replaced.....
I could go on for hours...
In short...
I would definitely return to this place for the sea, the structure, the food and the staff but unfortunately... since many of these people are guests who have been returning for even 10 years... I would definitely find them again and would have to witness the rudeness and arrogance of those who take liberties that they do not have...
It's really a shame....

I can say that at the Costa Rey I ate well , so congratulations to the cooks, very nice beach point but I stop here.... I do not complain about drinking for a fee because it was already ‘all clear at the time of Reservation, I
I complain about the tight places from one umbrella to another because you know ‘that in Sardinia is’ so, but a good pest control for ants would be necessary.... small and many... especially in the sofas before the dining room... you would get up and you could even find them in your head... luckily in the room only some but not pleasant to find them in the bed... bathroom in the room really narrow and the whole complex needs a good renovation... not worth what you pay... despite everything good cleaning ladies!
Congratulations also to the talented Micaela fitness worker.
Also no help for suitcases in the room and vice versa on departure despite steep stairs to the upper floors...

After 30 and more, trips made so far, I think I am able to judge a structure. I was suggested the location as an oasis of tranquility and the absence of children was one of the strengths of this Resort.
The other plus point was the cuisine in my opinion good and never repetitive in the week but, otherwise total disappointment...
Zero reception, reception few smiles and especially your suitcases you bring to the room making a beautiful and long staircase as in our case upstairs, indeed we had to help a lady who was traveling alone... the same for the departure... very old rooms very small bathroom that if I came out of the shower and one opened the door to enter the bathroom you could not... but especially ants... and find them in the bed is not 'pleasant .. small and annoying ... fortunately in my room not many being on the top floor but I got to talk to a lady on the ground floor who had in mind ... the same thing in the sofas before the dining room an invasion .... unfortunately I got to find even on the table for dinner .... beach lifeguard , unsociable and in the morning you could also arrive at 9.30 but the umbrella never opened ... opened that of historic customers ... also before 8.40 never there were towels ready .. on holiday especially in Sardinia at 8 the sun is already hot .... the only active person kind Micaela assigned to fitness ..
Resort needs a good renovation and I would add
Even tables and chairs at the bar because if you wanted to sit you had to pick them up in the dining room....
It will certainly not be a place to return ..
Ps. The Resort is small so in the evening we were all there, but never seen the manager and deputy stop to dialogue with new customers,...
