The Tree Lodge was beautiful, exactly what you'd imagine a rustic way of living to be like and more. The tree lodges are more spacious than what you initially think. The photos doesn't do the lodges justice. The lodges are very warm once you get the fire going, we were even too hot at one point. We were just so... More

Visited for 2 nights with family. We were off to a bad start because we forgot our torches- and although tea lights were provided they didn't give a great amount of light. We walked down to the cafe and had food- delicious and a reasonable price too. The beds were extremely comfy and although you can accomadate 7 people in... More

Booked for a girlie weekend away. The pictures and reviews looked good so we thought we would give it a try. Had a fantastic weekend. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Big shout out to George for making our stay such a good one, he's a great asset to the place! The food in the cafe was really... More

A beautiful setting and lovely experience, this gem houses a set of yurts, some lodges and a bunk barn, so whether a hardened walker or just in need of a break, this is a great place to stay, Cafe with bar offered kind hospitality, excellent choice of food and beverage and became the hub for our group. Much more on... More

Living quite close to the Bivouac, we have heard great reports of the restaurant, so we decided to pop in. It is an old farm converted to a lodging bunkhouse and unique huts. We were lucky as nearly every table was reserved, however, we soon had a table for two and was given a menu. The food was like the... More

We only stayed for one night in one of the yurts and we were disappointed that we didn't stay longer. The setting is stunting, the yurts are lovely, the cafe/bar is exactly what you need. If only the sound of rain and strong winds hadn't kept us awake all night, it would've been perfect. We'll head up again, but make... More

We had a 2 night stay in a meadow yurt (one of the new ones with al fresco loo & shower). A great place with beautiful views & lots of nature to ramble in. Importantly the people who ran the campsite & cafe were so welcoming & made the trip extra special. Due to rowdy guests we had a pretty... More

We stayed at bivouac for three nights & found it exactly what we needed.......total chill out ......our yurt was very comfortable & the log burner kept us warm as the nights were cooler, we ate in the brilliant, friendly cafe, fresh scones for breakfast, different but perfect! We took extra tea lights & lanterns but one thing I would advise... More

Visited Swinton Bivouac twice now. The first time was for a birds of prey experience with afternoon tea for two and the second time simply for food at the cafe. The location is lovely, surrounded by countryside and the building (both exterior and interior) are stylish with great quirky twists. Food has been delicious and the customer service is first... An amazing experience all round. The Yurt. It has everything you might need - an elevated double bed with two pull-out singles underneath (creating a fun den space underneath!), a sink with running (drinkable spring) water, a log burner and extra blankets to keep warm with, lanterns with tea lights, and ample cooking equipment. We improvised with the log burner... More
