Lucija Apartments is located on the far side of the island of Ciovo which links to the small island of Trogir about 20 miles north of Split. Being on the far side we expected a walk to the main Okrug Gronji beach which took about 15 minutes. Note it is uphill on the way back. If you enjoy a walk like us you will find it mild leisurely exercise, if not then then it is not for you. There is a small bay about 150 yards away with a bar at the far end (50 yards) and not too many people go there. The water is typically clear and the usual gravel (pebble dash) forms the drop to the sea. The Lucija Apartments are basic and provide a nice view of the bay mentioned above. Looks like most of Lucija have a view. Very nice to wake up to and probably most other houses around do not have such a nice view. We did feel out of the way at first but there is a fine restaurant just up the road (100 yards) which we felt was the best on the island. We asked for new bedding after a few days and these were provided by the the two local "helping" residents on the ground floor. We were left to our own devices after that. The owner did pop in with a bottle of red wine from his vineyard which was really nice and we were very grateful. We could have used the bbq at any time too. There are plenty of beach bars and a few restaurants on the front of Okrug Gronji. In June these were geared up for visitors but remained quite un-populated which was a shame. On the other hand Trogir was always lively. You can get to Trogir by bus (not regular) or by boat bus (very regular and reliable). We took out cycles and mopeds for a couple of days local sightseeing and Ante on his mobile 0038 59553 47901 has a shop and was very helpful with hire. The area is very pretty and there are trips to the islands to look forward to. Lucija Apartments was a handy base for getting around and we were comfortable enough without any major trimmings.…
