Stayed here because we were attending an evening reception at their sister hotel. The welcome we received on check-in was friendly & helpful. We had a room in the main hotel (right at the top - mind your head!!!!). The room was comfortable, warm & clean & had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

Having stayed here several times I have always found the rooms to be comfortable although if you get a room that faces the road then it can be noisy from the early hours of the morning. Food is ok and typical pub food. Breakfast can be slow, had to wait over 30 mins for my order last time. Big negative... More

Main bar and meal area very clean and comfortable. The dinner meal we had was excellent. Our room was not in the main hotel. They have rooms over the road in another building. We had Room 25 which was comfortable but the bathroom was freezing cold and built up a wet layer of moisture over the walls and floors due... More

My family and I have recently attended a wedding reception in the hotel. The venue was very well prepared and the food was fantastic. The room we stayed in was very tidy, pleasant; however, it was a little bit cold and the floor was squeaky, which was a bit of a nuisance as we had a little baby with us.... More

and had a smashing birthday, thanks to this hotel. Without a doubt, and without exception, the hotel's staff are its best asset. I hope they're rewarded sufficiently for doing such a great job. We stayed two nights on a B&B basis, and ate our evening meals there too. The first night we ate in the bar - fish and chips... More

If you like a peaceful night don't come here, I'm writing this review at 0530 am, as the lorries and cars outside my window are so loud that the room shakes. Asked to be moved but the hotel is full. Not looking forward to the next two nights, all other hotels are full!!!!!!!!!!!!

We decided to stop off on the way home from the NEC in Birmingham to a country hotel rather than treck all the way home. This place is amazing! Beautiful 17th century facility with first class staff and food! The staff genuinely could not do enough for us, even ensuring we had a ground floor room for the night as... More

My usual stay over in south Wales. Had steak tonight, was at a certain chef's bistro(not the seafood which I can't fault) in Cornwall four days ago, steak here better seasoned, presented, cooked and flavoured than there.
