When we are on Sylt, it is clear that a meal at the Söl'ring Hof is a must. We are absolutely convinced by the two-star restaurant and with every visit we have resolved to finally spend a few days in the hotel. In September of this year the time finally came and our expectations, which were very high, were even exceeded.
What particularly impressed us is the high level of service, which is noticeable at all times both in the hotel area and in the restaurant. The individual approach by the employees as well as by Mr. Berner, coupled with friendliness and helpfulness, is incredible. The combination of authentic relaxedness and at the same time excellent service orientation creates this special feel-good atmosphere. We have only seen this in a few hotels so far, which we can count on one hand.
The pretty thatched-roof house has a very special treasure: a terrace with a view of the sea. A gem on the dune surrounded by dune grass. We were lucky and the weather was so wonderful that we were able to eat the first courses of our menu outside in the evening and enjoy the sunset.
Speaking of enjoyment: The breakfast is probably the best we've ever had! Every day is a different highlight and no wish was left unfulfilled. I'm not really a big breakfast person myself, but here I sat at the breakfast table for well over an hour and thoroughly enjoyed it! And even early in the morning, the hospitality and warmth of the staff cannot be topped.
We tried JP's lunch in the living room for the first time and can also highly recommend this culinary highlight!
What we also particularly liked is the decor of the hotel rooms, which is not only very pretty, but also practical. It may be a bit crazy, but we are always delighted when there is enough storage space in the form of cupboards and drawers. Especially in the bathroom. The balance between design and functionality is brilliantly achieved here.
The location of the Sölring Hof is simply wonderful!!! Only a few meters separate you from the beach. And in contrast to List, Westerland or Kampen, it is quite quiet here. Despite the high season and great weather, I was completely alone on the beach and in the North Sea in the morning. An unforgettable highlight!
A special service at the Söl'ring Hof is the private beach chair that each of the 15 rooms on the beach has.
What else can I say? The Söl'ring Hof is simply perfect as a place to relax and enjoy everything! Definitely one of the best hotels in the world that we have ever been to!
We will definitely be back!

An absolute top address if you want to combine relaxation with unusual cuisine. We stayed at the Sölringhof for 5 nights and also ate in the restaurant 2 evenings. We always felt like we were in the right place. The day began with a very elaborate and exceptional breakfast, which really left nothing to be desired. In the evening we enjoyed 2 different menus, which were absolutely perfect both in terms of the food preparation and the service.
We will definitely be back and are already looking forward to it.

Such a great atmosphere. We were only there for lunch, i.e. lunch in the "living room", but everything was perfect. Except for the wine selection of the loved ones from zorrozwo. That was wrong. The wine selection. The non-alcoholic aperitif from Jörg Geiger is highly recommended. And afterwards you walk over wooden walkways through the dunes and take a refreshing dip in the water. Uniquely beautiful.

This hotel 'ties hard' ... possibly a bit too much. The styling is all more Essex (lots of silver and bling) rather than seaside chic. We didn't have the EUR300 per person set dinners, but did get hit with EUR800 a night for a room including breakfast. Frankly, way too much money for what it was. Reception staff young and friendly, but came across as inexperienced. Insane amount of food for breakfast which was quite prescriptive and an odd mix of sweet and savoury dishes. Also, major issue was lack of any real facilities (no gym or fitness etc.). Reception rooms/restaurant also has no sea view due to being blocked by the dunes.

We arrived in Sylt today and this was our first evening. It was an experience, a joy, something special. The food was fantastic and served in a way that is second to none. But not only Jan-Philipp Berner, but the whole team looked after us with such friendliness and ease that we simply felt at home.

Holidaying here means slowing down as much as possible. Feeling warmly welcomed from the moment you arrive and enjoying every moment to the full. Even after our umpteenth stay, we cannot make any suggestions for improvement. We love it just the way it is. Hopefully this oasis of good style will stay the same for a long time to come. The team is wonderful, each and every one of them. Thank you for everything - and see you soon.

Everything started with the booking. Excellent communication, very friendly and obliging. On arrival the Rolls Royce waited for us with an absolutely friendly driver. Check in was great too, personally welcomed by the Hotel owner and staff. The room, smallest category in the Hotel, was very very cute and totally supported the Hotels ambiance. Homemade cookies, Sherry and drinks in the room. Main reason for my stay though was the 2 Michelin stars chef Johannes King. Delightful menu in a very familiar atmosphere, impeccable service by the staff. The Hotel also has it's own smoking cafe/bar, so no need to freeze outside. On day of departure we got a lift to the airport again, of course in the Rolls Royce. We definitely will come back.

My wife and I had a great three night stay here a couple weeks ago. So much has already been written about this place that I don't want to re-hash things you can read in other people's reviews. I'll focus on what we enjoyed most and what made it a great stay for us.
We had room 105 which was right across the way from the restaurant. At times I would of found this annoying but here it worked. We were never disturbed nor heard any noise and in hindsight liked being able to pop into our room from breakfast or whenever out on the terrace.
The room itself was wonderfully appointed. I really liked the included mini-bar and the fact that there was dessert and port wine (also restocked and included) in the room was nice. I love port so King's (the chef in the restaurant) thing for port worked in my favour. The little biscuits waiting for us upon arrival were a nice touch too.
From arrival through to departure staff were wonderful. (With one exception which I will get to later!) Check-in was fast and the staff couldn't have tried to be more helpful. Every time we saw anyone they asked whether they could be of service and my feeling was that they genuinely meant it. The two ladies in the breakfast room ("the Breakfast fairies" as they like to call themselves) were probably the most engaged and just really were into their jobs. You rarely see this anymore with employees. Big hats-off to them for making our breakfasts, which we enjoyed thoroughly by sticking around for hours, a true joy.
We did have one hiccup. On the second evening in the restaurant we had a waitress who must have utterly had an off day. Further, the vegetarian dishes which she requested really weren't to her liking. Our waitress wasn't happy to hear our disappointment and basically thereafter ignored us. Not very professional but I already saw at dinner our first evening that she was not the most "happy" looking person. No idea! Nevertheless, when the chef from the restaurant (Jan-Philip) that evening found out about our disapproval, he came out and without going into details remedied everything. Had he not saved the evening that night I'd be writing a somewhat different review.
Further, on the following day when leaving I voiced my criticism to Claudia Reichelt (manager) and she was seriously concerned and made it clear to me that everything would be addressed. I am 100% comfortable that my feedback was seriously considered and I couldn't ask for more.
So, to summarise, the hotel is great. You can find this out from the other reviews and pictures. More importantly though there are some wonderful employees at this location and they deserve the praise. Yes, you do pay for it here but you don't get just what you expect. As you can tell from my raving review, which I don't dole out lightly, it's all about the people here going above and beyond. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a couple nights in this hotel.

We highly recommend this lovely hotel, overall the stay was perfect. Communication via email to book the room was easy and courteous and helpful such as making dinner reservations. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was tremendously polite and courteous. Our room was spectacular, words do not do it justice. Fabulous view from the window to the west, plenty of amenities (drinks in the room - beer, wine, water etc., two types of robes, gourmet snacks) that are thoughtful and helpful. The room was spotless and the nightly turn down service did a great job and should be commended. The grounds are delightful and the beach just a short stroll away. The breakfast was a delicious *feast* and the staff beyond polite and thoughtful. Dinner in the restaurant is a must, we enjoyed it very much. Overall, we were just thrilled by the fabulous service, clean and spacious room with great views, and the breath-taking location. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations and we plan on returning. We hesitate to write such a glowing review as we think this hotel a "hidden gem" we would like to keep to ourselves!
