Lovely hotel in an excellent location, 5 minutes walk to the beach. Rooms are spotless & cleaned daily, breakfast is plentiful. The hotel staff was beyond exceptional, very helpful and always kind. The food at restaurant Maxim was absolutely amazing.Absolutely the best meal we had while în Crete. Best quality/price ratio, highly recommend!
I can highly recommend Castro hotel in Ammoudara for various types of travellers and purposes of economy type of travelling. You will definitely get the maximum value for a price you pay. Perfect location: hotel is close to the Heraklion city center (airport also), so you can easily reach it by car, by taxi, or by public bus, which will bring you right next to the hotel's door. Hotel has a Beachfront. The beach itself is wide, not crowded, with mesmerizing views. Hotel is surrounded by tavernas, restaurants and mini markets. And I want to add, that the place is absolutely safe and quiet. The Staff makes the hotel even more special: I've never met such a friendly, respectfull and helpfull staff. Here I felt like as if I visited my own friends. BTW, they are fluent in many languages! Accomodation: Rooms are spacey. Rooms have balconies, private bathrooms, wide beds and basically what you might need for your stay. Plus Hotel has a beautiful backyeard with a pool. All in all, I want to say that I had a wonderful experience and I know for sure that I will come back here again.…
Very good hotel, friendly staff, good food ! Within a European funded project, we were on a business trip with 30 students from Romania and we stayed at the hotel for a week through Adonis Travel of Crete and Ultramarin (Romania). Hotel location at about 300 m from the beach. Everything was great !
My friends and I had a great time. We made friends with the staff and the manager, they have safe and clean rooms and the food was great (and plenty). It is close to the beach and other facilities, yet not in a crowded area. If I'll visit Crete again I would choose the same hotel.
Basic hotel, clean, basic rooms. Bathroom clean but with a nightmare shower curtain. We were unable to keep water from going everywhere. Location not much to write home about. Hotel was full of Russians who just do not seem to be able to close a door quietly, they can only throw the doors shut, even in the middle of the night! Breakfast was very basic. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant Maxim for dinner was very nice.
