We enjoyed our time here very much, I have so many positive things to say about our stay. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Our room was good. We asked for a baby cot and it was provided for free. The restaurant is lovely, spacious and the staff there is very attentive - the tables were quickly cleaned. Food was really good and fresh. We particularly liked trying the greek options. I still crave the chocolate crepes from the pool bar. The hotel is in a very convenient location: the beach is nearby, lots of shops and restaurants and a taxi/bus stop. Next time we visit Crete, we will definitely be returning to Marilena! I recommend!
I was spend my vacation second time in Marilena hotel this year for 8 nights and I recommend it for sure. First time I was in 2021 for 11 nights. Hotel is perfect for that budget price. Food and beverages-you have All inclusive systém in the hotel, food was fresh and very delicious with a big choices, every day was diferent special meal from chief. Every day fresh fruits of different kinds. Beer and cocteils were also good. Maybe I will change a provider of soft drinks, quality was middle, in other hotels with all inclusive, I have better soft drinks. Bar with all inclusive system open till 22.00. Stuff - was very friendly and helpfull, also on reception (Soula) and main manager in restaurant. Beach - close to the hotel, apr. 10 min by walk. On beach you will find tavernas, where if you buy something, you can use sunbeds for all day for free. Sea were with waves all time and here is very windy bay. Be careful with sea urchins on stones. Should have sea shoes. Room- was ok, as for me too soft mattrasse. Housekeeping was good. Room is more 3* standard. Territory - nice and clean, with big swimming pool and high palms. Hotel close to bus stop, shops, taverns. I recommend Marilena hotel and wish all best for the stuff, they are really working strong for make this hotel perfect. If my next vacation will be on Crete again I will choose Marilena hotel again.…
In August our family had a great week at the hotel Marilena. We were very happy with staying at this hotel. The food was delicious, fresh and all tastes. Lots of meat and seafood dishes and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. The room was comfortable and clean, stuff friendly. Good location - nearby the city center, the beach 2 min. away. We really enjoyed our time there !
I had two nights stay at marilena hotel after late flight.the hotel is clean and the staff is very helpful.many thanks Tasos from the reception for his professionality and many thanks to the manager for making us feeling so welcome during arrival.cu soon for sure.!
We have stayed at the hotel for four days, the staff was very welcoming, helpful and kind. The facilities were high quality and everything was extremely clean. The food is as very tasty, fresh, and with lots of options to choose from. The hotel is very conveniently located next to a bus stop where you can catch the bus to the airport or the city center. Special thanks to Marianna and Manos for their efforts and going the extra mile to make our experience the best one possible! We will definitely be happy to be back once again in the future!
Location: beach on the other side of the street; bus and taxi stop next to the hotel with airport and city of Heraklion close. Hotel comprises of 3 separate buildings. Reception desk based in main one. We arrived at 6-7 am - room ready at 2 pm, all inclusive granted at 10:30 (breakfast ends at 10:15. Coincidence?) Leave it alone, we weren't even offered a bottle of water. 2 euro for luggage locker. Recepton desk: not all members of staff speak english, check in - broken GDPR rules (offer to leave documents for 5h or scan of document). It seems that at the beginning we were located in economic room, despite we paid for superior one. Located in main building, outdated room. Seems it remembers USSR. Different types of floor tiles, little balcony - set of 2 chairs and a table (to get to second chair you have to trample the table). Disgracefull bathroom. Fungus in bathtub, dirty curtain, corroded bathroom fittings. After we have made a complaint to our travel agency, we were offered a superior room (a blessing from the Lord) with no additional cost (Your Majesty is too generous). Then comes the manager with her aggresive attitude, accusing us of contacting a travel agency - we paid the agency to, among other things, solve our problems. Second room is located in building by the pool, noticeable newer. Comfortable balcony and better looking bathroom, but same old, same old - corrosion is a main theme I guess. Both of the rooms with faulty air condition (working all the time, even when it reaches desired temperature) with broken remote control (not all functions working), 2 separate single beds instead of one big and a very loudy fridge. Looking for bright sides? Good towels. In first room great radio station in tv with rock music...swapped for canals mostly in german language in second room (yikes). You know who they expect the most. Canteen: not enough tables to accomodate all guests - you'd better run to occupy a table as soon as the door opens. Lunch very close to breakfast and very far from dinner. Monotonous (specially breakfast), barren and fatty food. Terrible bolognese, meat usually tough and chewy and smelly fish. Unripe or rotten fruits with most of the desserts soaked in syrop, no lactose free milk Beverages: disgusting drinks with added sweetener or coloured water (coke), chargeable water!!! Very sticky tables in the garden, I was afraid that i will have to stay there forever! Cats walking on them also. Pool bar: Sluggish service (especially on the crepes stand). Variable food quality - one time great pita, and the next time awfully...ups and downs. Very looong waiting time. Room service: I was stunned when my personal belongings where moved from one place to the other. I have never seen antyhing like that before. Very likely everything (bathroom and room, toilet and table) were cleaned with the same rag. Inadequate cleaning - sand in fugue, smeared mirrors.Bed linen not changed during the stay (11 nights). Entertainment: What entertainment? During our stay only ONE night with DJ and couple times accompanied by the photographers being pain in the... After 11 pm all inclusive ends - until 1 am you have the opportunity to BUY yourself a drink (alcoholic or not). Not comfortable sunbeds by the pool.…
Pros: The location is great and the view is great. The beach is near. Bus stop and taxi are just outside the hotel. The nearest town Heraklion is reachable by bus. Heraklion airport is also close. All the staff were so helpful and professional. The food is delicious and nutritional expecially for people with kids, variety of dishes everyday. The pool is big and clean. Our room was nice and spacious and was cleaned everyday. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Cons:The photographers were friendly but they should listen to the guests when they decline to be photographed. It was annoying and the photos were overpriced
Pros: Beach is close, plenty option of food, air-con is in the room, quiet hotel, next to bus stop and taxi station, shops-restaurants-trip organizers around, big pool with plenty of sunbed, daily room cleaning, close to Heraklion center, plenty all-inclusive food and drink. Cons: plastic cups only in the Pool bar, tired staff, busy restaurant, no entertainment night time, early check-out (12) - even if your flight is night time, pool opening time is only 10 am - 18 pm
The staff were very friendly. We stayed with AI and the food was really diverse each day. Room and resting areas all around hotel were really neat and tidy and it was nice to stay there. The view from the balcony was really calming and nice. The pool area was also very neat and it was nice to spend afternoon it there and the pool itself was suitable for differently aged and skilled swimmers. The sea was not far away also. Overall, the stay was very pleasant and would definitely recommend it!
I chose this hotel almost at the last minute. I came with great doubts, but everything was beyond expectations. The hotel, although located next to the road, is quiet. It is separated from the road by a garden with deckchairs under palm trees. The furniture in the rooms is decent, the bathroom is clean and quite spacious. The hotel staff is professional, competent and discreet. I appreciated the willingness of management to solve customer problems. The crown jewel was CHEF NIKOS. He made the best barley rissotto and an amazing roast veal. I wanted to eat only vegetables one day and it was easy to do…
