This place has been on our bucket list for years - has it really been opened 20 years? We finally made it for a 4 night stay (frustratingly you can only book in blocks of 4 nights in high season) and had a wonderful time. Many fellow guests complained about the long (5 hour) drive in from Punta Arenas -...

We purchased a seven day two resort Explora package during a fundraiser for the US Sailing Center Martin Co. Fl. Our first four days were spent at Salto Chico and the whole experience made the long trip worthwhile. The setting, the food, the staff, the accommodations, the treks and the guides were all first class. If you think you would...

The location and conception of exploring Torres Del Paine with Explora is worth it. We were lucky stay longer. Nothing to add about the location and service. The fact they train the guides to a high standard is the key.

Amazing views from the bedrooms and the dining room. Excellent food with out of hotel BBQ at the horse riding stables just as good, sublime lamb. Vast choice of trips every day and even if just one couple want a particular one on offer they will honour it. You couldn't do better than stay there in the stunning National Park....

Probably the best trip of my life. Stunning views, great property, great staff and guides and good food and wine to go with it. Lots of trips and adventures during the day, but came back each evening to a great meal and good wines. If you like to sit around and lounge all day, then this probably isn't the place...

This was the last of 3 explora's lodges we've been to and what we love most is the essence they deliver in all of them: best bed, shower, food, views and support you need to really explore Atacama desert, Eastern Island and Torres del Paine. The rooms with views to the rock mountains worth every single cent they cost more...

My wife and I spent 6 days here in December. Six days was the minimum length of stay as this stay included the Christmas holiday. This is a first-rate operation in a beautiful, remote part of the world. After a five-hour drive in the Explora van from the Puntas Arenas, Chile airport, we arrived and were shown our room. Laura...

The most amazing place I've ever been on my life with my wife. The hotel is perfect, the environment is perfect, the staff is perfect and the excursions are perfect. First, the reception starts with the transfer from the airport or from Your hotel from Calafate. At arrival, the guides are at your disposal to arrange a short excursion near...

Laura runs the hotel with a mixture of iron discipline and great passion. Consequently, I think the whole experience merits its not insubstantial price. There are cheaper options, but if you can afford it, go - and you won't be disappointed. A really good selection of tours and hikes for all abilities combined with a very good restaurant (remembering that...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our lodge is located right in the heart of the extraordinary Torres del Paine National Park in southern Patagonia. The diverse and untouched landscapes of this area led UNESCO to declare it a biosphere reserve. Our Patagonia hotel lodge opened in 1993 on the banks of the Salto Chico waterfall. It affords an excellent view of the unique Paine Massif and two of the three impressive torres, or towers, which give the park its name. The lodge has 49 rooms and a variety of inviting spaces. Situated on a 3-hectare (7.4-Acre) site, the design borrows certain organic forms from the landscape itself, adapting to it with simple elegance. It was designed to create a dialogue with its environment, putting human beings in touch with the sublimity of their surroundings. For travellers, the lodge provides the welcome surprise of comfort in a remote area. Nonetheless, you are not isolated from nature, but rather placed "within" it. ... more   less
