This is a place we have wanted to visit for some time. The location is stunning. The guides we walked with were without exception super and very friendly and knowledgeable. The hot tubs near the lake are fun, if you have time to visit them with everything else going on. We were not so impressed with the meals, and there...

This was hands down the best trip I have ever taken. From the hiking to the horseback riding to the accommodations and food, it was all a fantastic experience. Worth every penny. Going in the shoulder season was a great plan for us. We had the Torres Del Paine park to practically to ourselves. The hikes range from 20KM and...

Explora was a great loacation with very nice rooms. Most importantly the excursions and guides were first class. We really found everything well done and also enjoyed our stay at Explora Atacama. Stay in the park to cut down traveling time to the hikes. See the glacier!!

We stayed at Explora Atacama, Easter Island and Patagonia previously and were big fans of Explora, so when we booked this stay at Explora Patagonia, our expectations were obviously pretty high. We knew there had been a big fire in Torres del Paine a couple of years ago and that the park had changed. We also read that Explora was...

Explora had a host of very experienced guides. And, they had great food with friendly staff who remembered us and what we liked. I am a vegetarian and they were able to accommodate me easily. The rooms were simple and lovely with extraordinary views of El Massif. Lots of wonderful people to meet. Highly recommend.

As a child I saw the Torres del Paine and have remembered them since as the most beautiful scenery I had ever seen. I was finally able to return after 45 years and the area is even more beautiful than my memory had it. As to where to stay, as once-in-a-blue-moon splurges go, I don't think you can beat Explora....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our lodge is located right in the heart of the extraordinary Torres del Paine National Park in southern Patagonia. The diverse and untouched landscapes of this area led UNESCO to declare it a biosphere reserve. Our Patagonia hotel lodge opened in 1993 on the banks of the Salto Chico waterfall. It affords an excellent view of the unique Paine Massif and two of the three impressive torres, or towers, which give the park its name. The lodge has 49 rooms and a variety of inviting spaces. Situated on a 3-hectare (7.4-Acre) site, the design borrows certain organic forms from the landscape itself, adapting to it with simple elegance. It was designed to create a dialogue with its environment, putting human beings in touch with the sublimity of their surroundings. For travellers, the lodge provides the welcome surprise of comfort in a remote area. Nonetheless, you are not isolated from nature, but rather placed "within" it. ... more   less
