Pakse Hotel & Restaurant is ideally located in the historical heart of the city. Pakse is your gateway to southern Laos. French colonial buildings, evening- and day markets, shops and services (banks, airlines, money exchange, ...), as well as Mekong and Sedon rivers are just around the corner from us. Built in the early 60's by the last Prince of Champassak, Chao Boun Oum, completely renovated in 2003 it now reaches International standards whilst the traditional colonial influence/feel is preserved. The panoramic restaurant atop the hotel has become meeting hub of the city, serving traditional Lao, Western and fusion food, complimented by great wines, cold beers and fancy cocktails. The restaurant is set in a wonderful open-air green environment, away from mosquitoes, air-conditioners and traffic annoyances. The view of the city and the Mekong from here is all but stunning.

We booked a basic economy room and therefore it was no surprise that the room was small with old furniture, but it was clean too. The hotel offers a very delicious breakfast with a great variety of local and western dishes. But the best thing is the rooftop restaurant. There you get great views over Pakse, the Mekong and to the mountains. We went there every afternoon to see the sunset and having a beer or a cocktail. The food they serve their was also very good.

Stayed here for several days and can’t say enough about the Pakse Hotel. Clean, comfy, cheery. Good breakfast buffet. Centrally located. Massage place right across the street. Smoothie place as well nearby. And the rooftop restaurant is the best place in town to have dinner. A shout out in particular to the great staff, especially the GM Noy and Koukkik who assists with travel arrangements and tours. You can certainly pay more in Pakse for accommodations but you won’t find a better place than here.

Had a very nice 3 nights in a large room with a comfortable bed (ie softer than the average SE Asian mattress). The hotel is very well maintained, staff extremely helpful and there is plenty for breakfast. Highlight is the rooftop bar and restaurant, it has an amazing view of the city and the Mekong, also has good food and drinks. Literally across the road is a great massage shop.

If only I can give 10 stars for this hotel I would!!! The place is far from the highway there you can really have a good night sleep! When you wake up the freshly cooked breakfast is already for you on the 1st floor of the hotel, do not miss out the Pho! They have the best Pho in Pakse! The housekeepers are very kind and cleaned the room everyday! Had the best burger in Le Panorama Restaurant in the rooftop that will give you a 360 degree view of the city! I would like to commend Ms. Nang of the Front desk, (I am not sure with the spelling of her name tho) She is always available for our questions and she helped us a lot! The company must be very lucky to have you! We will be back soon! Much love, Daiki and Kissa

If you are in Pakse then this is the place to head to for a really good night sleep and decent buffet breakfast. At the offer price a night in the number 1 hotel in town is remarkable value. Like most places in Laos during Covid towns the occupancy rate is low but the hotel does manage to attract a decent crowd on the rooftop with its happy hour from 18:00 to 19:00. Cold beer and great snacks.

I loved everything about this hotel. The location is excellent, right in the centre of things. We arrived at 6 am and got a room straight away. The room itself was small but very clean and the bed was enormous and soft which is unusual for Laos. The bathroom had a shower curtain which again is very rare and means you don't flood the entire bathroom. The breakfast was really varied, lots of fresh items, Asian options, fruits and pastries and an egg station. Coffee was decent too. Really nice feel throughout the hotel and the icing on the cake is the magnificent rooftop bar and restaurant. We didn't eat there but had a few beers on both evening since they had a great happy hour. Overall, really pleased with the level of service here and would 100% recommend it.

We were transiting south and had a night in Pakse. This hotel was close to the main center but off the Main Street so MUCH quieter! The bed was the most comfortable we had in our entire month of travel in Asia. I slept so well! The room was nice - we didn’t have a view - but didn’t expect one given the price. Got in late and had dinner on the rooftop - excellent! The breakfast the next morning was amazing and the staff were all helpful and nice. Excellent value and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Pakse, Laos

I had an 8 night stay in a standard inside room room.1 floor above reception. The only window looked out into the corridor but the room was quiet, bed linen and towels very clean and bed very comfortable. A mini bar, small flat screen T.V., writing desk, table with storage and free standing wardrobe with plenty of hangers. Very generous supply of free drinking water but no tea/coffee facility. The bathroom was the only disappointment with a large crack in toilet bowl, a toilet seat that would not stay up, mildewed stained shower curtain in walk in shower with tepid water and no hot water in basin for shaving. Both room and bathroom very spacious with nice flooring. The hotel had buffet breakfast, much the same every day, the egg bar had eggs of choice and brought to your table, the pastries and yoghurt a nice touch. The fitness room was well laid out with fresh towels, large flat screen T.V., modern equipment, ceiling fan and the air/con very efficient as was the one in my room with ceiling fan. The hotel's rooftop restaurant with nice views, happy hour[5 to 6 pm], good food at reasonable prices and good friendly service was a must and I ate there every night.

Together with 25 Anglo-Thai Society members, my wife and myself are nearing the end of a short (2 night) stay at the Pakse Hotel which is nearly 60 years old but underwent extensive redecoration in 2003. Medium-sized property (63 rooms) that is well located and offers good value for money. Once we had mastered our shower (unfortunately, not stand alone), we were certainly pleased with our room - particularly, the large comfortable bed. Ditto with the buffet-style Breakfast (supplemented by an excellent egg station) at the ground floor ‘Le Patiok de Noy’ restaurant and the same applied to the Group Dinner we had on the 7th Floor Panorama Restaurant which offers great views of the town. Service was also good with most staff more than willing to help in any way they could. A real bonus was the fact that the Hotel’s laundry charges are based on weight (40,000 Kipp - US$5 approx per kilo) rather than per item which can - depending on one’s needs - offer significant savings. All in all, our stay has been a most enjoyable one and it certainly came as no surprise to find out that several other Tourist Groups were also staying at the Hotel.
