What to say: from the food to the service, to the slopes... well a really friendly resort with amazing staff. Cleanness, service and politeness are their commune denominator. Food is impeccably served and well made. Slopes are just amazing and from a skier viewpoint, with a snowboarder son, well it was so enjoyable. Highly recommended if you want a "different"...

Spent a week there as a group of 6. Great location for getting out onto the mountain in the morning, comfortable rooms, good facilities. Getting the funicular up and down the mountain is the cost of being ski-in and ski-out, but it runs every 20 mins between 9am and 10pm so we made it out into town of an evening...

First impressions on arrival at 5pm were of the evening apres-ski bar session accompanied by a live band and packed with skiers having a great time. Noisy and enjoyable. And then the place emptied around 6.30pm and a team of staff cleaned up quickly and efficiently and turned the hotel into a quiet comfortable restaurant serving very good food and...

We love Fjällgården. Traditional ski-in-ski-out hotell that has been around forever. Rooms are ok some too small, make sure you get the deluxe. Skirental can be ordered beforehand and picked up in the hotel, very convenient. In the middle of the Åre ski lift system that goes from east to west, as on a line. Very good restaurant open for...

We got back at the weekend from a weeks stay in the hotel skiing in Are. It couldn't have been much better in all honesty! We flew into Stockholm and drove the 600 or so km up to Are in the day. We could have flown closer to Trondheim in Norway but decided it would be nice to experience a...

Thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days here and very well located for getting on to the ski slopes. We had a good room with views towards the lake. Breakfasts are superb with a huge choice available. Dinner was delicious, well cooked and presented every night and we were served by friendly, helpful staff. There is live music for après but this...

We spent a few days conferencing at this hotel, which is located a little bit up in the slope in Åre. Service was very friendly and the conference room and related drink/snack service was good. Rooms are a little small, but functional. Breakfast and dinner was good, although lunch was so-so. The hotel has sauna and hot tubs outdoor. The...

A gorgeous ski-in and ski-out hotel positioned literally on the slopes, this place is worth making the effort to get to. The hotel feels like a modern lodge and is beautifully decorated (think antlers, candles and open fires). We had a double bed (two singles pushed together and individual blankets) a wardrobe the length of the wall, a small lounge...

Came to the restaurant part of the hotel for lunch twice during our 4-day trip to Åre, and was very happy with both meals. The first day we ate in the formal seated area, which had about a 20 minute wait, but was well worth it. Once seated, the waiter made sure that my gluten-free requirement was not an obstacle...

This place is halfway up the slope. The real afterski starts as the lifts close at 4:30 p.m. but it's accessible to 10 p.m. from the cable car. Live music. The door guard kept telling us to keep our kids from using the emergency exit. But our kids were back at the lodge . Didn't try their hotel
