We visited Hakuraa Huraa for 2 weeks. The newly refurbished hotel is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We loved the design of the room, the view was fabulous and we saw many spectacular sunsets from our deck. It had some unique features such as the partially open air bathroom (don’t worry no one can see in) that made it feel fresh and cool at all times. The main room benefitted from an AC. It was kept perfectly by Imran, who was very respectful at all times and ensured it was cleaned daily and refreshments restocked morning and evening.

Without exception, the staff were outstanding! Genuine smiles and friendly greetings were given from everyone working at the resort. From the moment we arrived, there was a friendly welcome. The reception staff were extremely helpful (our main point of contact was Latif, who was great throughout our holiday and remembered our name from day 1 onwards). Any requests were immediately acted upon. There was a good selection of food available on the buffet style meals. Our restaurant staff led by Ayyr Mahir (Ali), who was our main waiter, with Shiram and Najar assisting him, were always very attentive, giving a very personalised service and were always interested in our experiences. But the rest of the staff in the restaurant were great too. At the bar, Ramesh and his staff (Rajeta, Johan, Arum and Adthreeah) were lovely and would happily chat with you.

The twice daily free boat service to the coral reefs for snorkeling were fantastic. The staff were helpful, even assisting a couple that were weak swimmers in order that they could enjoy the snorkeling experience. They would also go out of their way to include ‘extra experiences’ such as viewing/swimming with groups of sharks. The other excursions, which were included in our ‘premium all inclusive’ package were also great including our ‘spa’ treatment, which would equal any experience we have had in London.

If we had one suggestion for the hotel, it would be name badges for the staff, in order that we could compete with their exceptional name recall.

An excellent holiday made even better by the staff at Hakuraa Huraa – thank you.

Had a most pleasant and enjoyable holiday on the Platinum Island at Hakurra. The location is breathtakingly beautiful, and the adult only concept delivers many benefits. This was out 11th visit to the Maldives and this location is comfortably on a par with our previous favourite.
The staff could not do enough for you, the quality and presentation of the food was outstanding and the accommodation was exceptional.
However, although we attributed 5 stars due to our overwhelmingly positive experience, there were areas where improvements could enhance the experience even more. The most important for ourselves was the inability to walk around the island barefoot. All our previous visits to the Maldives have delivered that facility with the use of soft sand on the walkways. The walkways on the Platinum Island are not yet fully established, but it is clear where they will be, and I'm certain that as the landscaping progresses it will be resolved. The other minor areas for improvement would be the irritation of mosquito bites, and the fact that the bathroom garden lighting could not be turned off. Meaning that throughout the night light illuminated the bedroom area through the semi transparent bathroom doors.
All in all relatively minor negatives to what was an overwhelmingly positive and enjoyable experience.
Many thanks and best wishes to the staff who made it a great holiday.

What a fantastic place.. we came here on our honeymoon, we stayed in one of the water bungalows with the sunset view, it was the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom has a large shower and toilet looking out to the sea, and 2 his and hers basins, the bed was ridiculously large that overlooked the sea view. The glass bottom feature in the room was great to watch the fish at night.
Our balcony with sofa, 2 sun beds and hammock made our holiday..
The buffet restaurant offered loads of options every morning lunch and dinner, our waiter we had for our duration was so professional, before we sat down he always had our drinks ready and would bring another one just before we finished the first,
The facilities at this hotel were great, they had a pool table, table tennis and dart board, also a very good gym.. the bar was well equipped however we weren’t allowed certain drinks unless you upgraded to premium which wasn’t worth the cost it was extra.
My only negative I have was we had a couple of treatments at the spa (which was great) and a trip to see the dolphins, we paid $700 in total for all of this to only find out on our last day that a few guests were moved onto the island from another island as they were full and our hotel gave them free treatments and a trip, we were disappointed we paid for something others got for free, ( I do hope the hotel does something about this so my only negative goes away)
All in all this was a fantastic honeymoon, absolute paradise, I was recommend this place..

We are very pleased to know that you had a fantastic honeymoon and you have considered our water bungalows as the best accommodation you have ever stayed in. Thank you for the kind words and recognition on our waiter as well as the restaurant that provided you loads of options from breakfast to dinner. However, I am sorry to hear about your disappointment regarding the free treatments and trip offered to some guests who came from our sister hotel. Due to their overbooking hence the reason why they were moved to our hotel and offered a free upgrade. We hope that your negative would goes away and replaced it with your wonderful and fantastic memories in paradise. Thank you very much for your recommendation. I’m writing this review from the deck of water bungalow 321 on our third day at the island. I want to talk about everything I would liked to have known before booking our honeymoon here. I’m not going to talk about the obvious positive, since it’s all you can read from previous reviews.
For us, the worst has been the customer service. No regard for your requests, it’s like talking to a robot, always the same response and empty apology.
We were kept waiting for our room upon arrival, since 11:30am, with no access to wifi and were encouraged to have some lunch so they could finish getting the room ready. At 1:30pm staff member then came to our table and told us the room was ready and she would wait for us to finish our food so she could escort us to the room. We quickly finished up and headed over to the room, but when we arrived the cleaner was still inside. We didn’t appreciate this since we felt pressured to finish lunch early in order to get to the room.
Our frustration was compounded when our luggage didn’t arrive and we were made to call reception numerous times for our luggage to be sent to the room so we can have a shower and change into clean clothes after a full day of traveling. It finally arrived around 5pm. No excuse was offered and there shouldn’t have been one as we saw it at reception when we arrived.
I read about the sound of the generator and how loud it can be when checking the reviews, so specifically requested a sunset water bungalow at either end, away from the generator which is heard most in the middle. It came as no surprise to find out we had been assigned a middle bungalow. During the night the noise is okay with everything is shut, but during the day it is super loud, so be aware.
The ceiling of the water bungalow is like a tent and unfortunately the material allows the sun in from 6am, so be prepared to wake up early due to the morning light penetrating the room.
The lagoon is very shallow, no real beach with white sand to stand and swim. The area around the water bungalow is about the same, no sea life or reef to snorkel, that’s why they offer 2 free snorkeling tours a day which we haven’t been able to take yet due to bad weather.
The bungalow is not exclusive or private, you get to see and hear your neighbours from all the other water bungalows.
The sea plane makes a first stop at another Cinnamon hotel and the water can get pretty choppy. It takes about 1 hour to reach the island. Nevertheless, it’s a great experience and the views are breathtaking.
The food is not spectacular, only 1 buffet restaurant and almost the same food is served everyday for lunch and dinner. Healthy options are also limited and tasteless.
Expect to listen to the same songs every night. The live music is nice and relaxing, but they could change the repertoire.
Overall, I guess you get what you pay for and the other guests fit the criteria.
Don’t expect the holiday of your life. It’s a clear 3/5. If you’re looking for better, the Instagram experience, be prepared to pay triple what you pay on this island.

After a long journey from Scotland UK arriving at cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa was like something out a movie, it is absolutely stunning the refurbishment is amazing, nothing is to much trouble for staff, from the wee guys that do your room, spotlessly might I add, Adhil your a flower genius and we appreciated the flower arrangements on our bed... to the constant top up of our coffee, sugar, water juice fresh towels every day, to our wee waiter/table server Suoodh who was a complete gentleman, he was with us the whole 2weeks so he had our dinner drinks ready as soon as he seen us arriving for dinner-pulling out chair for you to sit down at table nothing was ever too much trouble for any members of staff and the attention to detail, all staff always spoke to you even if it was only a good morning, good afternoon, or evening they always made a conscious effort to speak to guests. From bar staff to gardeners the service was amazing 😉 honestly. The food was always plentiful and plenty of choice, puddings to die for and always fresh fruit for us non cake lovers, drinks at bar were plentiful and loads to choose from nothing was a hassle for the bar staff above and beyond on all levels of this 2 week holiday in paradise I’m only sorry I’m going home tomorrow my 2weeks have flown by without a hitch. I will return here when I have saved up the money lol it’s not a cheap holiday by any means but you definitely get what you pay for top class service from start to finish. So long bungalow (330) amazing view of the sunset 🌅 just lie in bed or on lounger on your deck and watch the sun set amazing, beautiful, gorgeous we shall return of that I’m sure xxx Tracey and Janice 💖💖

We are just back from a glorious week at the resort. This place far exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back. We stayed in a sunset water bungalow (#320) as we wanted as much sun as possible. I emailed the hotel before we arrived and they were very helpful. The standard of accommodation is outstanding, with the entire resort having been recently refurbished. Spotlessly clean - a houseboy comes in am and pm, fresh sheets daily and towels twice per day along with a turn down service. Food was excellent, with Thai and South Indian influences although there was the usual meat and two veg selections for those who prefer that sort of thing. We ate at the Crab Shack (a la carte for extra charge) one night and whilst the grilled seafood was lovely (especially the lobster) to be honest the regular restaurant is just as good. We also used the spa. The team there are excellent and it was just what we needed after a long haul flight. You can book out snorkeling equipment free of charge, which I highly recommend as the sealife around the lagoon is amazing. We had regular visits from all sorts of fish - including baby sharks and stingrays! Don't worry though, they are harmless, and darted away from us when we got too close. A couple of things to note if its your first visit:
1. You are allocated a table in the restaurant for the duration of your stay and you will be attended by a dedicated server. We didn't know this and had to vacate the table when the other couple showed up! Your table will have your room number on it. 2. Tip in US Dollars - the team do an amazing job and many are far from home, even the Ma you do as the sea life is amazing.
In short Cinnamon Hakurra Huraa exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back!

We stayed at the resort for 6 days after spending 3 days in Dubai. We stayed in villa 365, a water bungalow overlooking the sea. The villa was lovely having just been renovated, the bathroom is great, separate toilet, shower and sink area, partially open to the open air. The bedroom is plenty big enough with hanging space for clothes. There is life jackets, waterproofs and a torch in the wardrobe. A secure safe is also provided. There is tea and coffee facilities in the room and a small fridge, which didn’t seem to work very well, the drinks were not very cold and the replacement of beers in the fridge didn’t really happen. A large double bed which was decorated beautifully one day with sea creatures made from leaves. A glass floor with lights allowed us to watch the creatures below. Out on the balcony were recliners and a corner sofa. There are fixed lanterns on the decking which don’t allow the sun beds to be moved very much so it’s difficult to face the sun. The steps to enter the sea get very hot in the sun so be careful not to burn your hands or feet. The water is full of dead coral so water shoes are a must. We saw lots of lovely fish when snorkelling. From the decking we watched rays and sharks. The beach is also very corally and not lovely soft sand. The drinks and bar staff are lovely, the food was great especially the puddings! The sea plane is a real experience as well.

We went here as a couple celebrating our 35th Wedding anniversary and could not really fault it. It was like paradise. The staff were amazing, really attentive, some even addressing you by name which was a real personal touch.
The accommodation was amazing, we had a water bungalow looking out to the sunrise which was better for us as it was shaded in the afternoon when we wanted to get out of the sun. The glass panel in the floor was great and of an evening, if you put the light on, all the fish would gather underneath including sharks, octopus and manta rays.
The food was freshly cooked, tasty and varied although a great deal of it was spicy which we don't mind but I think some people might struggle.
The bar was good although there was sometimes confusion about what was included on the all inclusive and what wasn't and also on some occasions you were asked for a room number and other times not. I don't understand why.
Entertainment was limited but this was due to the onset of Coronavirus and Miss Lyn explained that it was not good to move acts around during this time which was reasonable.
We went on the dolphin excursion which I cant recommend enough, we saw lots of dolphins, well worth it.
We did a survey at the end of our stay and was asked for positive feedback but not for suggestions, therefore I will list them here:
1. Due to the onset of Coronavirus just before our trip, we were surprised that the usage of hand sanitiser was not being monitored more rigorously. People like to go into the restaurant, lift the lids on the dishes and use tongs etc. I suggest that at the entrance to the actual food area, a member of staff stand and ensure every guest uses the sanitiser, as the do on cruise ships.
2. Due to the usage of plastic on the planet I suggest paper straws for drinks.
3. I was surprised to see lots of plastic debris around the island, which I know may not be directly from this island but if all of the islands cleared these up it would minimise this. Also on the little island that you could walk across to there were black sacks full of bottles, it wouldn't take much for someone to remove these.

Just returned from our stay at Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa. We had a water bungalow (316) which we found to be very comfortable. The glass floor section is great to watch the fish go by in the evenings when the lights are on, we had several reef sharks, rays and porcupine fish along with a varitey of other species. The rooms are spacious with separate WC, shower and dressing room. A large deck with sunbeds, lamps, hammock and steps into the water from your bungalow for a spot of snorkelling. Snorkels/flippers are available for free from the Dive Centre and you have a bouyancy jacket in the wardrobe if you need it.

The standard of the room was very good with a super king size bed, sofa and large dressing table. The mini bar is well stocked and soft drinks, water and beer are free of charge, however spirits, chocolate and crisps are chargable.

Our room boy was Naseer and he is absolutely great, he works very hard and is so friendly and happy and a pleasure to talk to. Room service is twice a day and you can ask for items to be replenished at anytime if needed. We take our own toiletries however those provided by the hotel are Spa quality and we did use them on occassion as they smelt so nice.

The quality of the food is very good and there is a huge selection. Having seen previous reviews of the food not being good or poor selection available I can only assume they are used to staying at the Ritz and having cooked to order at their command! Vegetarians are well catered for, there are at least 6 different types of salads plus a huge amount of individual salad items to make your own up, several curries available (the fish curries are amazing). Breakfast has the usual bacon, eggs, omelette, fruit, breads, toast but you can also have eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles, french toast, toasted sandwiches etc. Overall in our opinion if you can't find something to eat then you must be a bit of a princess!

The only issue we had was that the quality of the drinks lowered halfway through our stay, only minor issues but no one wants flat soda water in their gin fizz!!! and the mix of the cocktails varied depending on which staff member you got. The food at the Crab Restaurant is very good, we had the lobster dinner on the beach and a bottle of very good wine, however you can stick to the all inclusive wine and beer if you want to.

We tip staff a coyple of times a week but there is no obligation to do so. US dollars are best if you are tipping.

We stayed for 15 nights and oh my we were not disappointed ☀️

We arrived by seaplane, the views on the way were outstanding and I’d definitely recommend going by seaplane. We were greeted by drums, cold flannels and cold drinks 🥳 check in was really easy and we were taken straight to our room and our luggage arrived straight after us.

We stayed in an over water bungalow, the rooms are massive and beautiful, they also provide all toiletries you will need but we did bring our own. The sea life outside the bungalows is fantastic and everyday we saw sharks and rays.

We had a minor issue with other guests on the island and the hotel dealt with it brilliantly, and we were very grateful for everything they done for us during our stay and it was lovely to see the manager Lyn going round before dinner speaking to guests and getting feedback.

Unfortunately we had to move rooms, we started off on the sunrise side and had the sun until around 2/3pm with plenty of shade, when we moved we moved over to the sunset side we had the sun all day until sunset.

On your first day your allocated a table and a waiter for all meals which was such a lovely touch not having to find a table every meal time. A special thank you to Razaan which made our meal times great everyday! We always had water waiting for us at our table and drinks that we liked also waiting. We’re quite fussy eaters and dislike seafood but we found something to eat everyday! The breakfast consisted of fresh eggs/omelettes and everything else!! Lunch we mostly had toasted sandwiches or wraps and for dinner Sujeewa would cook us the most incredible pasta dishes. His carbonara was out of this world 🤤 one day we also had some cheesecake that was put out for dessert and it was delicious, it never got put out again so we asked then 3 more times after this cheesecake was brought out to our table for us for dessert. Honestly if you can’t find anything you like ask the staff and they will go above and beyond to get you what you want!!

We always felt we tipped because we wanted to and not because we had to, which is really nice as a lot of places you go you only get good service when tipping but all the staff treat you like royalty regardless of tips.

We done the private sunset speedboat dolphin excursion which was also a brilliant experience and 100% worth the extra money to be on your own. We also had the most relaxing Balinese massage at the spa.

Finally we just want to thank Hazel because she was absolutely fantastic, so polite and will sort out any
issues you or any requests you have. When leaving to get on the seaplane hazel and Lyn told us they’d booked us an airport lounge which was a lovely touch and we were extremely grateful as we had a 8 hour wait for our flight.

If you’re considering booking stop considering and BOOK!! It’s worth every single penny, the views, the staff, the sealife… just incredible 💖

We can’t wait to come back 🛫

Booked through Travel Counsellors who got us a fab deal. Water bungalow, all inclusive (did not pay extra for food or drinks). Snorkelling boat 2 x a day. Direct flight from Heathrow and seaplane. Super island. Lovely friendly staff, can’t do enough for you. Good coral and fish including reef sharks and rays. Will hopefully return as our 9 nights was not long enough and went to quickly. Enjoy 😎👍

Hello we were on the main island in water bungalow went for normal all inclusive. The main difference with the plus is the different cocktails and brand of alcohol but we were happy with the choices available as there was plenty. Snorkelling is included free no need to purchase plus they take you out to the reefs for free. All other water sports are chargeable. We enjoyed the food it was very good fresh every day and plenty of choice, you can also make requests for particular food. Crab restaurant is not included we didn’t dine there as we were happy with the food menu every night. Hope you have a great honeymoon you won’t be disappointed
