A basic two star Logis but everything you need. Pool - bar - terrace- restaurant and made very welcome by the Patron ! Oh , and air conditioned comfortable bed and room. Can be busy at weekends. All or more than you could expect.
First things first, there are no hotels in Draguignan that come close to hotels in larger centres. That said, I switched to this hotel from a booking in downtown Draguignan because that hotel was dingey and unsafe. The Hotel Le Col L'ange was a pleasant surprise. Perched on the hillside above Draguignan it offers nice views of the town (in fact Draguignan looks best from a distance). The rooms are a good size, clean and modern. The bathroom is small, and in need of renovation with portions of the ceiling peeling. I ate several times at the attached restaurant and enjoyed the plat du jour and from the menu as well. The meals were excellent, and the atmosphere is pleasant. I would recommend a stay here, but please get in with the necessary washroom repairs.
After quite a fraught drive from Nice Airport we were relieved to arrive at this hotel where we were met by a most charming host. Nothing was to much trouble and the swimming pool was great although a little run down. We were permitted to stay the following day well after check out. Good value for money and the evening meal was very enjoyable.
The owner (and his wife) are friendly people who do their very best, but the rooms are in great need of a renovation and the cleaning of the toilet could have been better. The sheets were clean though. We arrived late, just needing a room for the night and this hotel fulfilled that need. Nice terrace with a view of town and ok breakfast. If you plan to visit the city center of Draguignan you need to go there by car.
My room is 55€. The rooms are large and all have balcony views of the city of Draguignan. The hotel style reminds me of the old Red Lion Inns (a chain on the west coast of the US). I appreciate the safety of being out of the city center with free parking and free WiFi. The room is clean and the bed and linens are basic. The salle du bain (bathroom) needs updating badly. There were broken tiles around the tub and water sprayed in multiple directions from the shower head. However, it was spotlessly clean. Don't waste an additional 8€ on breakfast. I paid for the convenience and wished I hadn't. The offering was bread and cereal. Cheese is 2€ extra. Ridiculous! For dinner, the restaurant offers a small menu, regional wines and a panoramic view of Draguignan.
