As hikers we loved the old stone building. Our room was spacious (with bathroom down the hall) and a view overlooking the village. Our hosts were friendly and helpful (breakfast served in our room) but we also had a feeling of independence. A great stop on the Trail des Bonhommes.

We spent 3 nights here almost at the end of our Cathar Way walk. Montsegur is a lovely little village superbly located with the chateau towering over it. Much of the whole village is in a state of graceful decay and L'Oustal is no exception. But at the same time it is clean and comfortable ! The family are delightful...

L'Oustal's very hospitable hosts made our stay welcome and enjoyable. It's a clean and comfortable B&B in a delightful mountain village. The breakfast was lovely and the beds comfortable. I recommend this place.

A charming chambre d'hôte. Three rooms upstairs, with their own entry. Simple but well appointed. Warm welcome, great breakfast, and fabulous views. Very helpful too: I called as we drove up to ask about restaurants because it was late; our host volunteered to find us a table. She booked us into a fabulous restaurant in the village. Lucky for us...

This is a small hotel at the edge of the village of Montsegur. It just looks like a big beautiful house, full with pieces of art the owners produce themselves. Madame starts talking to you like she knows you all her life. Before you land in your room, you get a full tour of the house. My brother and I...

Montségur is worth a visit to hike up to the castle ruins, but what really made our stay in Montségur memorable was the warm hospitality at L'Oustal. If you are looking to stay at a B&B not only for the value, but for the opportunities to chat with friendly locals and sample authentic regional cuisine, L'Oustal is the perfect spot....

We visited Montsegur on our cultural trip of France. If you have any interest in Cathar history, you have to visit Montsegur. The entire village is a heritage site and of course there is the famous Cathar castle, perched on the hill behind the village. This was one of the last Cathar strongholds, during the Albigensian Crusades. A stay in...
