the rooms are quite basic but clean and neat. the food was very good, like home food and had a wide variety. The Evening bonfires were a great place to chat around. .All in all a great place and cheers to Mr. Dennis for his exceptional hospitality.
Room has all the facilities required, including the tea/coffee maker, even they gave us electric heater as we were feeling a bit cold. Cleanliness is awesome. Fresh set of towels and bed linens were provided, bathroom is sanitized and clean.
Sleep quality is good, however in morning (near 7:00 Am) we heard the noise from the roof, as they have open air rooftop breakfast arrangement and it seems, someone was dragging the table/chairs.
Location wise, we don't find that great, especially most of the attraction is towards Shora, which is additional 30 mins ride by car, the only closest attraction was double tier living root bridge. Although view from the resort, especially from the roof of the breakfast area is awesome.
We went through a package, and thus the car and guide were arranged by them, which I would recommend almost everybody. The all-inclusive vegetarian food was included, however we found food is average and we didn't like that much, breakfast spread is not that great. Dinner also we didn't like and most of the prep we found very bland and less salty. In fact, we went to Jiva Grill for one day dinner and found that was much more palatable to our taste.
overall our stay was average, and had a great expectation based on the reviews, however especially food wise it was disappointing.
The kitchen in the resort serve very delicious vegetarian food including South Indian and any made to order. The owner of the resort stays in the same place and that shows their commitment to providing the best hospitality and service. They go to any extend 24-hour to make you feel better.
Please dont miss the walk around the property and in the village down the resort. They can also arrange for a pick up from Guwahati airport if needed.
A beautiful.village down the road where u can stroll and see so much and learn about their life.
I stayed in a premium room, which is quite spacious and well-lit and has a beautiful view from the window. All the facilities provided were quite good, it was extremely comfortable and felt like home. The staff members were also generally very warm and welcoming. Food was good as well.
We had a wonderful time in Cherrapunjee on our various adventure trips, also courtesy the enthusiastic guide and the cab drivers, which the resort arranged for us.
If you are a nature and an adventure buff, Cherrapunjee is the place to be. If you are looking for a calm and serene place away from all the noise and the hustle of the city, then Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort is the place to stay.
The food was awesome and delicious.. Especially, the rasam is amazing.. We ordered a thali/meals which costs around 250/- but worth it. The rice is unlimited. You don't get curd and that could be a drawback.. The place is centrally located and might be good for stay as well..
They also serve ice creams. Not a lot of flavours you get but the taste is good..
The staff is very courteous and try to make one as comfortable as possible, despite a bit of language constraints.
The food is excellent, a mix of local, north and south cuisine. We enjoyed the parathas, noodles and rasam especially.
The evening bonfire and live music also added to the ambience.
The rooms open into the dining area which is a bit odd. However since only families are admitted, there wasn't any disturbance,
The owner Mr Rayen is a very pleasant and knowledgable person. he gave us some good inputs on where to go.
Overall, a great place to unwind and relax.
"Net connectivity is poor in the area and don’t miss out to view the valley from the hotel terrace."Read full review
