A mid range hotel, offering reasonable - but certainly not luxurious - facilities. Our room was large, but somewhat bare and cold. Little in the way of drawers, but plenty of cupboard and shelf space. The bathroom was equally bare and like a wet room, so flip flops would have been useful after anyone has used the shower. It had a rainhead shower which gave no hot water on the first day but a moderate flow thereafter. The room was a bit cold, but they provided an electric fire. The free wifi gave an adequate signal in our room. The food for breakfast and dinner was adequate but with limited choice, and the dinner menu had to be pre-ordered. For the Hornbill Festival it had one advantage over some of the better hotels: it is on the same side of town as the Festival. This matters because Kohima suffers from horrendous traffic jams. From the Ura hotel we were stuck in jams for 45 minutes coming back from the Festival, whereas those in hotels the other side of town faced 90 minutes in jams.

Wonderful experience with warm hospitality. We were welcomes with lovely lemon tea. Food was decent and hotel premises were clean. Though breakfast could have more options. Sincere thanks to Tracy. Recommended for a comfortable stay.

I have not stayed in this hotel, but eaten at its restaurant. I was staying in the same locality at The Heritage and when passed by this hotel during one of my walks, I asked the manager to see the rooms. The staff and manager were very friendly and enthusiastic to show all types of rooms which were brand new and well kept. I will give this hotel a thumbs up for its quality of rooms, bathroom and food. And from what I can say about response at reception and the restaurant, the service seems good too. Its a new hotel, started only in december 2013 and not many locals know about it yet. It is located near DC hill which makes it little off from hustle bustle of main town and has a modern hotel design. If by any chance The Heritage is packed and you want to stay near DC hill, this is the hotel !

We travelled across Nagaland as a family. We had first booked the Aradura Inn, which was highly disappointing, and then thankfully our driver got us here to the Hotel Ura, which is located near the DC hill, near the Kohima Cantonment Area. To begin with, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They eagerly showed us the rooms, which are well done, with all the amenities and we could ask for more. Needless to say, the staff was more than helpful. The owners also were very friendly. The restaurant is nice and they did fine-tune the food as according to our needs. Overall, the hotel is relatively new, well- maintained and I shall rate it far better than the other hotels of the similar range in Kohima. One must try their Chicken with dry bamboo shoots.. they do it really good.

Good experience.

The best part is the hospitality of the staff.
They care.

I was taking photos of the city, and one of them took me to the roof top for the awesome view.
Advice at reception was very much helpful.

Tea, dinner and breakfast are always on time with good consideration for me.

No problem about the shower, bed, and the room.

Free Wifi works fine for me at the dining room.

You should understand this is not a 5 star hotel nor at a metropolitan.
When I stayed no TV signal, several hours of no mobile signal, no heater even in winter.
But, these inconveniences are none of their fault.
It's located in such a small remote city.

After all I would call this the best 3 star hotel I've stayed.

Rooms are clean and cozy with clean washrooms. Management should keep a table lamp near the bed lest we hit our leg on the furnitures while returning back to our bed after switching off the lights which is a mile away.
Food is good but bit slow in serving.
Parking space not so good.

After searching around for an affordable and clean place in Kohima we found Ura Hotel and it met our expectations. If you don't want to pay 5 star prices this is the best option and it is also centrally located, next to the Nagaland Tourism office and near taxi stands.
Food is good too. A double room with TV, Wi-Fi (that works on and off) and big windows with a view over Kohima cost Rs2500/- and we could get a nice discount in off season.

I stayed in Hotel Ura in May 2015. The Hotel is fairly new. Hence. the cleanliness and ambiance is pleasant. Well maintained. The service was satisfactory.

Rooms are large enough. The blanket provided was a colorful beautiful blanket, not typical hotel quilt.

The best part is that the local Naga cuisine was available in the hotel !
The restaurant is clean and well decorated ambiance.
The Conference rooms are well appointed though the wall color is dark with wood finish. Brighter color of the wall in the conference rooms would add value.

Only drawback I found was that there was no study table or working desk in the room. And the service in the restaurant was slightly slow.

Otherwise, a pleasant place to stay.

We were a group of 5 people. Visited in Dec'16 during the HORNBILL FESTIVAL. The rooms are good, neat and tidy. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Even the restaurant serves good food. We tried few Naga Dishes. There was also a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree there. But during the festival period, prices go up very high. Overall good experience.
