I stayed 8 nights at La Vista (Syhlet, Bangladesh) during mandatory quarantine. I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of service and quality of the rooms available. At an reasonable price, this boutique hotel has just the right balance of accessibility and amenities. Special thanks to Rubel, Shuhal (Restaurant), Bijoy (Manager) and Mr Tariq (GM) for their hospitality. P.S. The jewel in the crown for this hotel, in my opinion, is the balcony with its adjacent open plan seating - perfect for sipping your hot/cold beverage whilst you admire the hustle and bustle, that is Sylhet city.
The hotel is placed in the heart of the city and reaching anywhere is easy. The hustle bustle of the streets adds to the attraction and venturing into the narrow lanes is fun. The rooms though not very posh are pleasant with clean toilets. Lack of adequate storage drawers in the rooms is a demerit and you find difficulties in keeping your essentials. It's a 3 star hotel so you won't find a safety locker or a mini fridge etc. Basically meant for people with short stay (business or work ).The lighting in the rooms are less which makes it a bit dull at nights. I had stayed for 2 nights with family ( took two rooms) but a long stay would not be recommended especially for people travelling with family. Mosquitoes are a trouble in the hotel and even though repellents were provided, one has to take the requisite precautions. The staff are very good and helpful, in fact they did help us very much. The food is fantastic especially for anyone desiring to have traditional Bengali cuisines. Fish should be tried out in the restaurant where all varieties are available. Breakfast is very normal food ( not a buffet), subcontinent stuff. At the end one should say it's value for money that I got. Recommended for people seeking a stay with comfort and a desirable budget. …

Me and my wife stayed in La Vista hotel in September,2016 for one night. This hotel was suggested by one of our relatives. Upon going there we found the hotel had opened recently and there weren't too many guests at the hotel. We parked our car at the basement which can accommodate 3 cars. Our room was air-conditioned, neat and clean, the bathroom was pretty big although there was no bathtub. The wifi speed was very good if not super fast. There was complimentary breakfast with our room, but since we had to leave very early in the morning, we requested them to give us packed breakfast. They gave us jelly and bread which was quite hard. But overall, our stay at La Vista Hotel was satisfactory
All we are looking for is really just to have a good night sleep when on a business trip, so we are ready to work the next day, but some places make the effort to make your stay pleasant and friendly, I must say the staff are really good here and always looking to help you in every way possible to make your stay and experience to remember, lovely restaurant on the 7th floor with a city view, we will be staying again soon thank you team la Vista.
I stayed at La Vista this year as part of my office tour to Sylhet. Did not have any prior idea about the hotel and the local colleagues booked it for us. The Good: The hotel is quite close to the central parts of the city so traveling back and forth is easy. The rooftop balcony has a moderate view and can be peaceful early morning. The reception staff were courteous but not professional enough but at least showed the dedication to serve well so you could forgive the clumsiness. The Bad: The rooms are small. Quite claustrophobic compared to the average room size you would expect as a hotel room. There is hardly 3-4 feet of free space next to the bed at the most spacious side of the room and the rest is much less. The washroom actually feels almost the same size of the room but not because it is big but because the room itself is small. And each floor only has one single room so you can't have two rooms next to each other if you prefer single rooms. The Ugly: The restaurant staff are idiots. Despite explaining twice about how each item would be 2 in quantity since we are 2 people, they still gave us 1 item each and due to the late hours did not have any option of ordering more. The russian salad I ordered earlier through room service arrived nearly 1.5 hours later and was basically a combination of prawns, cashew nuts and spices along with cucumber slice garnishing all around. So in summary, the food is terrible. Stay here if you have no other choices but do eat outside. I would definitely be trying out other hotels the next time I go there.…
