Nice place, very near the ferry port and easy to find. Lovely house with generous proportions. I stayed in room 6 which was a little small (buy the bathroom was large), but it was fine just for the night I was there. Breakfast was fine - decent coffee and the cooked breakfast was fresh and tasty - not too big...

My wife and I booked on short notice and on the recommendation of my cousin’s good wife. We checked in immediately after arriving on the ferry from Scotland. Ms. Ivy was very helpful and accommodating. I was in great pain from a hip condition and needed a ground floor room with facilities for the disabled. To avoid the steps, we...

My husband and I, as well as our two friends stayed at Derrin Guest House for three nights. Ivy and Seba(?) were great hosts. Breakfasts were wonderful! My husband and I especially appreciated the huge bowl of freshly cut fruit and the French pressed coffee that was available each morning, never mind the pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. Our hosts were...

Recently stayed here because we were taking an early morning ferry from Larne to Scotland, so really just looking for a comfortable place to lay our heads. Derrin Guest House provided that but not much more. The welcome we received on check-in was not exactly warm and the host walked away as my 73yo husband struggled up a long stairway...

Thank you for your review. On arrival, I showed you to your room and advised you about the free Wifi and where spare blankets and pillows were etc. I offered to leave breakfast out for you as you were on the early ferry, but you didn't require this. I also told you about the bell in the hall if you...

Lovely welcome, fabulous fresh food, clean room and quiet at night with no outside or inside disturbance - and I was given wheat free bread and cereal on the first morning despite not having told them in advance I could not eat wheat and then they went out and bought some more. Also it looks like, in addition to the...

Hi Elizabeth, Bob, Joe and Paris We enjoyed having your family to stay for 2 nights. Thank you for writing such a lovely review. We usually stock some gluten free bread and cereal as it is now so widely requested. No 5 is a large family en suite room with double bed and single bed. There is a sofa bed...

Stayed for a night on my way through from the ferry. The house itself is immaculate and my room lovely. The décor and breakfast were both perfect. The house is close to a park and town, parking might be an issue as there is limited space on the road outside the Bed and Breakfast. Very friendly and helpful - and...

I really liked Derrin House - it is a spacious old family home and no surprise that it was formerly owned by a doctor's family. We had room 5, and with windows to three sides it was spacious and airy - a pleasure to be in. Breakfast was excellent, too. The host, Ivy, was very friendly and helpful (as she...

Thank you for your lovely review. You took advantage of our speicial offer of a free bottle of wine as you booked on our own website and mentioned the offer at the time of booking. You were able to take the wine to one of Larne's BYO wine restaurants so it came in handy! We were delighted to hear that...
