I have no idea why people have any issue with this amazing resort. It's like nowhere else I've ever been - and that's entirely the point of. If you want room service, a flat screen TV, nightly turn down and a Frette robe, perhaps you shouldn't be in the Arctic Circle. For everyone else, it's hugely charming and idiosyncratic. You...

We stayed at the East Village for four nights. Two in a Glass Igloo and two in the Turf Chamber. The igloos are great for watching the Northern Lights, which we did. The Turf Chamber or Wedding Chamber is great for a romantic evening or two. However, the igloos have a toilet, but no shower. You have to use the...

The environment is nothing less than magical, and the glass igloo itself was also perfect. I can highly recommend a visit! However... Even though the staff is friendly when you actually make contact with hem, there seem to be a slight touch of ignorance. It can take days before they reply, both on enquiries in general and to confirm a...

We stayed here at the East Village from 19th to 22nd March and had the most amazing time. I really don't know what people have to complain about! The staff were all so friendly and the activities were all very well organised and co-ordinated. We stayed in log cabin (No. 1) for the first 2 nights which was so comfortable...

Food (Breakfast & Dinner included): Their smoked salmon is the best I've ever had. It is thick, fresh, less salty, and has a distinct flavor. They serve this during breakfast. Dinner was lovely which starts with some bread and butter (butter is so good it's mistaken as cheese), soup (warm and filling), main course (tasty fish or meat that looks...

We've recently been here for my other halfs 40th birthday as we wanted somewhere different to go and we certainly got that!! We only had three nights but that was enough as our budget was not endless. The staff are so polite and friendly and cannot be more helpful. I will continue to post some tips. Firstly we stayed in...

Almost no facilities in the glass igloo. No lock in toilet. No shower place in small igloo. In big one no place to keep the clothes and towel in bathroom. No fridge and only have a few paper cup. Too hot in the room, but can't adjust the temperature. Worse than B&B. Very disappointed

We stayed in Queen Suite 4 - right at the edge of a picturesque little snow covered "village". The cabin was incredible - big four poster bed, open fire, stand alone bath, private sauna and private jacuzzi. Spectacular accommodation. (Only downside was that the mattress was quite thin. It could use an upgrade). Amazing Nordic ski track right outside the...

I had reviewed this hotel many times before I went, most said go, but only for the experience and most of all expect very little in the way of value and service. I can assure you that those reviews were spot on. Yes the igloo experience is a must at least once in your life, and for the most part...

The iglo experience was fantastic and romantic. Not a lot of space, but who needs that. With a small child a large iglo can be recommended. on the plus: friendly staff, beautiful surroundings and the wonderful view. However, the dinner (mandatory three course) was way below what you might have expected for the price of a night's stay. also the...
