What to say about Kakslauttenen arctic resort? Well let's start with the positives. The location is at the far north of Finland in semi wilderness but with good connections by road, coach and fairly close to Ivalo airport. The weather was certainly wintery when we arrived and in the fresh snow it looks stunning - but then in fresh snow...

I went on my honeymoon to this resort and was extremely excited given all the pictures I had seen before and the videos I'd seen. My husband and I got a Kelo igloo, and it was just like the pictures. We had the bad luck of going during a time when there wasn't all that much snow (November) so a...

So after a treacherous 3 hour drive from Rovaniemi we finally arrived to a swift check in to our east village ( there is an east and west) log cabin . What a beautiful place , homely in the middle of the snow with your own log fire, perfect . Great day until we sampled the dreaded customer service I...

I had been dreaming about coming here for years, ever since I saw it on a blog (and heard about the northern lights on The Simpsons), but was left a little disappointed. This place isn’t cheap, but I was willing to fork out whatever they wanted to live in an igloo with the northern lights over our heads. We booked...

I was concerned about my trip to Kakslauttanen ahead of the trip because of the negative reviews on here. But I shouldn't have worried - it was a great trip! That's not to say it's not without fault; there are some things that could do with some refining - not least an explanation of which site you're staying in and...

1. No road signs and there are more than one place to check in, each place at least 15-45 minutes apart from one another. You have no idea where to go when you arrive. 2. Reception staff are not well trained and disrespectful. We stood at the reception for 30 minutes waiting to check in and all of the staff...

Pricey igloo stay but worth the experience to stay at this igloo especially when you can see the sky thru the glass with 180 degree view. Come with basic facilities inside the room. No bathing facilities in the small igloo and walking distance will be 5-10min walk to the bathing facilities. BF was great and staff was very friendly. A...

I booked a Kelo Glass Cabin which was amazing, the transfer and check in was easy and the staff lovely and very helpful, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights and do a few activities like the quad bikes and husky's. I also got engaged so my review may be a little biased as the staff helped my...

Stayed here for my wife's 50th birthday for 2 nights. We booked a Kelo Glass igloo in the West resort which could sleep a family of 6. Check in was painless as was the pick up from the airport although at Euro 54 each way it's pretty expensive. Room had the definite wow factor on entry but the original igloos...

We booked one of the glass igloos so that we could watch the northern lights but unfortunately in the end, the skies clouded up and we did not see the lights. The main part of the hotel is a short walk but with the snow and cold I would suggest driving to check in and then to the igloo because...
