We were 5 families who visited Saariselka and stayed at Holiday Club resorts in summer. The village though small, is very beautiful and self sufficient with a pub, grocery, restaurant, wine shop, etc. The major activities to do in the area are related to nature...More
We visited as a family of 10 for 2 nights for my dad's 70th birthday. The hotel had lots of facilities (most of which we didn't have time to use). We had 2 rooms within the hotel itself and 1 of the cabins. The rooms...More
We didn't use the water park and the Angry bird activity park was a bit too small, (we got bored after two hours), but having said that they do have some xbox games which can keep some adults glued for a few hours. Our apartment...More
Hotel is focused on winter tourism so lots of renovation work going on in summer. Staff very helpful. Lovely location. Nice spa. Rooms good size (we stayed in ones pre renovation - it was clean and practical but update will be good). Excellent dinner and...More
Arrived to Saariselkä mid June planning to go hiking with my family for a few days. Since the weather was not favorable on our arrival we decided to book a room at HCS for one night before heading out in to the Urho Kekkonen national...More

Hi, 60 something grandmother and 4 year old grandson went early Dec 2016, everything well organised for us , left hotel around 9 am returned around 5 pm. We were given timed visit for husky ride, then rest of time was free, we went to toboggan slide , ice hockey, back to toboggan slide, then to set lunch then to snowmobile ( grandson loved as he was allowed to ride by himself, though he could only go round and round as snowmobile is tied to tree trunk , but he was thrilled ) then back to one of the many log cabins for warm by log fire , gingerbread biscuits and hot berry juice, then to ice fishing this did impress grandson, then the magical sleigh ride to visit the great man himself ( we did have a bit of a wait here ) but had fun and singing by reps which kept kids amused till their turn came. This was sheer magic and will not give anything away, then back to toboggan slide and with everyone getting ready to leave grandson agreed to at last get on the coach back to hotel, needless to say he was fast asleep before the coach had left the park. You will spend a lot of time walking between each activity, and if like us the snow is very deep , time goes very quickly. make sure you are well wrapped up. Enjoy this trip of a lifetime for little and big kids.
