The lodge is in a good position inside the national park which means that you can set off before sunrise to watch the sun rise over the dunes which are a 30 minute drive down the road. The view from the chalets is very good and the verandah of each is quite private; not overlooked by any other chalet. The...

It was difficult to secure a booking here, and we might have given up if our agent Wild Dog Safaris had not persevered. We had read reviews on Trip Advisor so our expectations were quite low. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Staff were helpful, especially Herbert. The room was exceptionally large and well equipped to a good standard. We only...

We truly loved the location and rooms here. Both are wonderful and were worth the stay. However, the service is not ideal. We had booked a trip to Deadvlei and when we went up to the lodge to leave, it had never been booked. Fortunately, the guide took care of this (he is not in charge of the bookings) and...

The only lodge inside the Namib-Naukluft national park but it is the place to stay if you want to see the magnificent dunes (largest in the world) at sunrise and sunset. The rooms are beautifully designed, well finished and inimitably African. The service is very good and so too the food - not excellent but good! It is an expensive...

- ideal way to see Sossusvlei; being inside the park allows for earlier start to drive to the dunes before park gates open to other groups - guided tour from the lodge to see sunrise on Big Daddy dune is a must do; our guide was excellent, knowledgeable and with a sense of humour; he provided extras including a star...

the location is superb but the service is dire. Certain things are in disrepair even though the rooms are well appointed. the food was absolutely terrible. For lunch, we had a choice of bacon and cheese toasted sandwich or a slab of beef. Snack, though advertised were not available. We had 2 meals in the evenings and both times the...

This is the place to stay when visiting the Dunes. The location of this place is unique. As the only lodge inside the gates, you get a head start on the others when you go for the sunrise in Sossousvlei, and since you have to start at 4:30 to be sure to make it you will miss it if you...

Nothing against the "nature friendly " approach of the lodge...if I'm put in the condition to chose it through proper information. The location is the Namibian Desert...the season is Summer...no air conditioning is available anywhere!...no place to stay during the day other than the room (38 degrees) or the pool (just a little bigger than a home bath tub for...

Though given a warm welcome, we were very disappointed with our stay here. We arrived for one night, the car park is some way from the main lodge and you and your luggage are taken up o the main lodge where we had a warm welcome and shown the main facilities. As we were on a self drive tour we...

We stayed here for one night having decided that, since we would probably not be coming here again, we would pay the extortionate amount for a room so that we could be at the sand dunes at sunrise. Having been woken at 4.15am and told that we would be leaving promptly at 5.00am we then waited until nearly 5.30 for...
