Set overlooking the plain with a verandah outside the dining room giving wonderful views of the sunset. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the food excellent. There was little to see except the odd hyrax and springbok but a nice place to just relax.

On arrival we were told to drive up to the lodge to unload so no issues there. We arrived the first storm for 6 months. When we walked into our rooms they were stifling hot (we found out later they were in the middle of a power failure) and I was worried that we would not be able to sleep....

Well we knew that it would be hot here but for two people who enjoy heat it nearly beat us. The accommodation is lovely and original. My main observation is that there is no shelter on the room terrace. It would be improved if some shelter was provided so you could enjoy outside. Also you can not leave windows open...

The main advantage of the lodge is that it is inside the park so you can get to the dunes earlier than people staying outside of the park. As another reviewer said - the parking is far from reception and it is not clealry indicated how one is supposed to proceed. We drove straight up to reception anyway, the time...

As the only lodge inside the gates of Sossusvlei means that you can enter the road to the dunes well ahead of the other visitors staying outside the gate. The lodge itself is situated at the bottom of a small rocky mountain, a little out of this world feel. The chalets are of good standard, no AC though, but a...

The room is air tight. It keep the heat very well, actually too well for a summer time. I couldn't sleep a bit on my first night. I can sleep on the second night by put wet (soaking wet) towel on the bed and sleep on it. The only thing that keep us alive during day time is the swimming...

We spent 2 nights here so we can get to the dunes , and specially to climb Dune45. On arrival at the lodge, one of the staff would drive to the car park to pick us and our luggage, and drive us to the reception. Check in was quick. The staff here multi task from housekeeping to bar tending to...

This hotel is located inside the park gates which means that starting early to see the sunrise at Big Daddy is easy, and if you are willing to leave at 4:30 am as they suggest, you will be near enough the first there. This allows you to climb Big Daddy and see Dead Vlei with hardly anyone around. NB it...

The lodge is definitely a nice place to stay. The rooms were unique and the food splendid. However, the view was not that unique. The rooms are veeeery pricy for the luxury or experience offered. The only reason why you should book it is to overnight within the park and being able to drive to Deadvlei when its still dark...
