This hotel is located inside the park gates which means that starting early to see the sunrise at Big Daddy is easy, and if you are willing to leave at 4:30 am as they suggest, you will be near enough the first there. This allows you to climb Big Daddy and see Dead Vlei with hardly anyone around. NB it...

The lodge is definitely a nice place to stay. The rooms were unique and the food splendid. However, the view was not that unique. The rooms are veeeery pricy for the luxury or experience offered. The only reason why you should book it is to overnight within the park and being able to drive to Deadvlei when its still dark...

We stayed for 1 night in this lodge, mainly to be able to start off our visit to the dunes 1 hour before the rush started, and in fact now looking back on it we see no other reason to stay over here .. this lodge could have some potential thx to the location, but staff and service take it...

Having read a number of recent reviews I feel that people are missing the point. I agree that it is not as luxurious as any of the private lodges, and the food is basic with a limited choice, but it's a perfectly adequate lodge run by NWR and clearly wins in supporting the local economy - so a fair number...

We stayed here as part of a group trip. If I had been travelling independently I would have definitely booked something better and smaller. The food average to poor, on the second night they ran out of house red and white wine! The advantage is that it is in the National Park so you can leave early before the main...

Accommodation consists of fairly typical rondavel-type huts. They are spacious and have mosquito nets covering the bed which was quite comfortable. The open air shower area was fine and there was a balcony area with table and chairs. That's the good bit. We should have had a fridge with bottles of water but after enquiring discovered that it had broken...

There is absolutely no excuse for the unacceptable condition of this lodge and the lax attitude of staff, especially one female employee by the name of "Memory", whose demeanor was rude and confrontational. Where do you possibly begin with a disaster like this? There is no one at the front entry gate to greet you, so it is difficult to...

Very hard to write agood review..if i have to review the lodge itself...how it looks...where is placed...or if it is comfortable?..than it is spectacular...suparawesome and fantastic...so sad tha the staff is very miserable and moody...it is a super high price range lodgement in the desert...and they take the advantage that you can't really stay in other places...the service and the...

Part of our small group excursion through Namibia was a visit to Sossusvlei located in the southern part of the Namibia-Naukduft National Park. Knowing of the groups interest in photography our excellent travel agent, Gill from Africa 2000 Tours, booked us into Sossus Dune Lodges since it is the only lodge accommodation within the parks borders. As we were to...

Traveling extensively throughout southern Africa's national parks for work, it is always a very welcome experience to visit the Namibian Wildlife Resorts establishments, and the Sossus Dune Lodge would so far have to top them all. Not only is the lodge situated in such a location that although you are only on the other side of the mountain from the...
