After visiting the dunes, we went for a drink and lunch to this lodge. It is in good shape and you can feel the friendly and very welcoming atmosphere from the staff. As we were unfortunately not staying here but at the Namib Desert Lodge, where we were totally dissatisfied with the food, we were so happy to have a... More

This hotel lacks class but charges over-the-top prices! On arrival, the receptionist was anything but welcoming. The place Is probably acceptable as a 3 star hotel, no more than that, but charges 4 star prices at least. The rooms are tired and lack simple facilities like a fridge (one would reasonably expect one in a desert area!) The bathrooms are... More

Sossusvlei Lodge is unfortunately resting on its laurels and maybe with a bit of competition, might improve the quality of their meals, spruce up their rooms and worn mattresses and just take a bit more attention to detail. The views from the tented rooms ONLY if you have the front rooms are amazing. This is not the case if you... More

We stayed here for one night on a dinner bed and breakfast rate. It is not cheap but there is little or no competition in the immediate vicinity so close to the entrance to the Sossussvlei Park. They can really charge just what they want. The food was excellent - fantastic buffet dinner with so many options; and also a... More

Stayed here recently as part of a tour on the Sholongolo Express - Separate review. Service compared to the train and also similar lodge experience in Kenya requires improvement. No assistance with baggage (always happens in my experience in ZA and Kenya). There are 150 cabin units, however there was always only one bar staff on duty. Bar food is... More

Dear Scmitchen, Thank you for your review and valuable feedback. I felt my stay at the Sossusvlei Lodge was brought by luck. I was upgraded to this lodge after reserving my stay at the Desert Quiver Camp and I will forever be grateful to Lenize Steenkamp for this wonderful surprise and complimentary dinner - especially on my birthday. I was assigned site #140 and it felt like I was in... More

The lodge is located on the plains of the Namib desert. The cabins consist of a composite of a stone build unit containing the hall, the shower/bathroom and toilet and supporting walls for the canvas of the tent. The inside is luxurious and spacious, with air conditioning and adjoining single beds that guarantee a good sleep quality. There is no... More

Excellent place to stay in Sesriem just at the entrance of the Park. Clean and spacious rooms with all commodities. Friendly staff. Attention is given to small details which can make the difference. The buffet is various, copious and served outside with a view on the desert. Would stay there again with no hesitation.

We travelled here to visit the national park & see Sossusvlei & we weren't disappointed. Sossusvlei Lodge is a 1 minute drive from the gate of the national park.
