So after a hike on the dunes and an early morning with a meager breakfast we were debating between having lunch at the camp in the park or here. We are super glad we chose here. The property is lovely and feels like an oasis after a day walking on sand dunes. They happened to have a really fantastic buffet...

Sossusvlei Lodge is right at the park entrance for the Dunes, and is a pleasant oasis in the desert. Accomodation is individual buildings, half chalet (bathroom, shelving, wardrobe) half tent (bedroom), with essential a/c over the bed. You can open the window coverings to let in air; however, you will also let in sand -- this is the desert! Meals...

After a loonnnggg drive, it is a such a pleasure to cross the threshold of this lodge and see a genuine welcoming smile hold a tray with refreshing towels and an ice cold glass of juice. Ahhh...life is good. A quick check in and we were led to...

We flew in by light aircraft for a one night stay. Dinner was a barbecue outside with lots of the usual game meats. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was free wifi in the bar and lounge. It performed well. You need to have a desert side chalet as this gives great uninterrupted views. The rooms are nicely...

Sossusvilei Lodge and Resort. Guests stay there are usually purchase the all inclusive package with room and meals. The desert is very hot in the day time and the room A/C may not help because the bed rooms are made or tents and zipper. The tents make a lot of noise when the desert wind brows. Our rooms (129,130 & 131) looked directly out to the desert. Stunning. Rooms are comfortable with air conditioning. Food was buffet style. Good choice of salads & meats. Just make sure the meat is properly grilled before eating it.

We stayed in several Namibian lodges and hotels during our holiday but this was the best. The accommodation was good and safari themed, the food was well prepared but the scenery and night skies were superb. Then we went to see the sand dunes, that really was an experience of a life time.

We only used the Lodge for dinners and breakfasts, as we were staying at the Desert Quiver Camp and the catering aspects of the stay were done via the lodge. So we had two dinners and two breakfasts. What a great location. Perfect location to visit Dune 45 and Deadvlei. Lovely pool, good rooms with airconditioning, buffet dinner very good. We didn't stay at Sossusvlei Lodge, but organised a helicopter flight through the Adventure Centre. Wow! We did a 45 minute flight with Yandre. Absolutely fantastic. The check-in staff were fast and efficient, Yandre was an exceptionally experienced pilot, and responsive to our needs as photographers. Absolutely fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone.
