It’s my second time at Royal Tulip in between 7 months interval and I still believe Royal Tulip is the best & must place to stay if you are Traveling Cox’s Bazaar! I strongly recommend at least a 2 night stay at Royal Tulip will change your expectation from Cox’s Bazaar!

Good Things of Rpyal Tulip:

1) You will get a feeling of a very less populated beach (which is very important in this Covid19 situation) with proper security even at night.
2) You will get BEAUTIFUL view from the balcony or sea view rooms and all the rooms are spacious and beautifully arranged (from my experience).
3) Very well behaved and competent stuff.
4) Various activities, like waterpark, movies, playing zone, separate swimming pools, place like theater for live music etc.
5) Very close from Inani, shooting spot and some places where you can easily visit from staying at the hotel.
6) Royal Tulip itself is huge in size, it is not just a regular small hotel with few good rooms.

However, I do have quite a long list as suggestion, but these are very few of them which I believe I must mention:

1) Food/ Restaurant: I had dinner at the Kasba restaurant and I feel the buffet menu should be more diversified and should include more special sea food items as people expect to have good taste of fish/ sea food when they travel to Cox’s Bazar. Also the restaurant should be more vibrant, like when we were dining in, there was no music or anything at all! While we expect a live show at a restaurant, there you should at least have music. It was a very dull environment from my experience.
Breakfast menu seemed repetitive, you can work on that.

2) Common mistakes:

a) I ordered a plate and they said each plate will be charged 100 taka, while every room should have minimum 2 plates, they are asking extra for just serving a clean empty plate! This was not expected.

b) Last time I was in studio sea view room, which was amazing. So this time I wanted to try the Executive suit with sea view Balcony, and the room was amazing. The view was fantastic and we were really happy with the view too. But after 7pm, the white gigantic lights (3 lights) was turned on from the top of water park building and it ruined everything! I literally had to see the sky and the sea from the common balcony at night because of the lights! I understand that is important for security, but security cannot compromise the experience we expect from Royal Tulip. It was very disappointing as I was super excited to see the night sky and enjoy the sea view at night.

c) Well, this one is very silly, charging a staying guest 300 taka for transferring from Airport. Other good hotels in Cox’s bazaar are not doing it, they are giving this complementary, why can’t royal tulip do the same? It’s not about just 300 taka, its about the service. If you think, you cannot make it complementary as it is more than 25km drive, you should add this to room fare. Increase the room fare then, and announce the complementary transfer from airport! This will help you I bet.

As far as the overall facilities are concerned at this resort it is difficult to criticize the overall standard. Our room (2525) was kept immaculately clean by MAGDI, nothing was too much trouble for him, his response to any request was prompt and cheerfully delivered. In the restaurant facility one individual stands out and that is MOHAMMAD, he was chatty and attentive without being intrusive. I have read in other reviews, criticism of the lack of variety of the food, we did not experience this, quite the contrary. At the (Orca) dive centre the staff were excellent, in particular MAHMOUD and his team who were always at hand to assist with any heavy lifting and transportation of dive kit. It is undeniably a long, but not arduous walk along the jetty to the entry/exit point for divers., (half a mile). But the provision of mechanized transportation of the dive kit is well appreciated and essential. Although a bit of a pipe dream, an improvement of the facilities at the end of the jetty would be an additional set of steps to cope with the pushing and barging of ill mannered snorkellers who gave no consideration to the needs of scuba divers with heavy kit, but then not all nationalities seem to value the politeness of queuing, (take note all Adolfs and Ivans).

Pros:
Service, Location, and Safety

Staring from front desk, all employees were eager to help with any questions we had. Almost everyone spoke English (my bangla is bad). House Keeping was always great and in particular Razwan Khan made the stay sweet and provided us good service.

Con: Food. Way too pricey! A hot tip is to take a auto in front of the hotel and go to near by restaurants. We figured this out too late in the stay but be sure to visit Coral Station 😁

I have resided in this resort for 3 nights and almost 4 days and returned last 02nd October. The first advise to tourists is that never be fooled by the term "Private Beach" they use in their website. The beach is not at all private and lot of locals, rohingyas roam around and troubles tourists as much as they can. Because of them we can not stay in the beach for more than 30 minutes. also the view is ruined by some gigantic dykes / dam they have built in the beach.
We have found the staffs are well behaved, also our room was a studio sea view which was pretty good with amenities and quality, apart from a few glitches which are acceptable. Cleanliness efforts in the building are good but around the pool and other adjacent area were not clean up to the mark.
The swimming pool was quite good, but the Jacuzzi was on cold water ! also the change rooms of the pool was horribly messy and broken things everywhere. Also they charge
Food quality was good, apart from few items being tasteless in the morning breakfast. Our offer included complementary set menu lunch, but on one occasion, they told us that our offer automatically upgraded to buffet lunch for free, which was a lie as during the check out they did charge extra 300 tk ($ 4) for that lunch.
The room service is poor, as we ordered a bottle of water, it did not came in an hour. than we asked again, than it came after another 1 hour. we have also ordered fruit juice which taste was worst.
The water park is good with a ride suitable for kids, as well as nerve wrenching height rides for adrenaline craves. But it is still under construction in some part.
Their bakery is comparatively better as we have ordered a cake, which was well decorated according to our instruction and delivered in time.
We have asked for a cloth drying service which they told us will take 3 times extra charge for express delivery. We preferred to take our wet clothes with us ( 6 wet clothes we had to carry all the way home !)
Now the worst part was during check out they have billed us for CAB service (bus service to and from airport), which at first they told us was complementary. In total they have charged us 2000 tk extra ($ 25) We paid the extra charges as we had to catch a flight ! and was in no mood of arguing. Still during boarding the bus, there were no seats available, and the bus staffs seemed so careless about it, later after much pursuing they have managed us seats.

Stayed in royal tulip for multiple days. While the service is not bad, I wouldn’t say that the service is of a luxury 5 star hotel. Royal tulip still has a long way to go to make tasteful dishes. You will get much better food in other hotels in Coxs bazar, e.g Sayeman Beach Resort, Mermaid, etc. for a lower price. There’s no effort to make the food experience better for guests - breakfast, room service and all other food is very average, sometimes bad. I was particularly unhappy with room service staff, they didn’t take orders properly, delivered wrong items or less items, provided wrong information, etc. In this pandemic, there was nothing much for us to do, so we mostly relied on chilling in the room and wanted to eat some good food which was definitely not up to the mark. The only good thing was the cleaner who put some effort everyday to make the room seem nicer and also brought flowers for us one day!
Overall, please make your service better if you want to call yourself a luxury hotel because right now, it is not.

I had a very unpleasant experience, starting from the check in till check out. The staff of the hotel have no idea how to give proper service. When I arrived at the hotel (around 12pm) there was a big rush at the reception for check outs. I patiently waited in the queue to get to the receptionist and when it was my turn the receptionist told me check ins are closed till 1:30pm. This is the first time I ever heard something like this where a hotel was denying my check in. I told the receptionist to complete the formalities and provide the rooms when they get ready. I was surprised that I had to tell the receptionist how to do their job. Since they claim themselves to be a five star hotel, I asked why there were no welcome drinks. The response I got was that I had to pour my own welcome drink from the other side of the hall. Wow a five star hotel making the guests pour their own welcome drinks! The welcome drink was a watery Tang (flavored drink mix). I was paying so much money per night for the hotel accommodation and the best they could do was make their guests pour Tang in paper cups as a welcome drink.

The restaurant at the hotel where we had our lunch and dinner was severely understaffed. They couldn't manage the rush of the guests. It took more than 20 minutes for the waiters to clean the tables and provide plates and spoons. I once requested for a teaspoon to have a certain dessert and the waiter told me that there were no teaspoons available at the hotel. How can a five star hotel have no tea spoons? When we ordered tea and coffee through room service we never got any tea spoons to mix the sugar, etc.

Since it was a family trip, we booked three rooms. For one of the room an extra bed was required. My elder sister was staying in that room along with her husband and two children. While I made reservation I had clearly stated that an extra bed would be required for that room and the hotel sales person said it will be arranged accordingly. But after we check in there was no extra bed. When I called the receptionist to provide an extra bed, they just converted the sofa in the room into an extra bed. We requested for three days straight to provide an extra bed but they gave one. The most surprising thing was that during check out the hotel tried to charge us Tk. 2340 per for an extra bed! They never provided the extra bed yet they had the audacity to charge us for something we never received! After a long heated debate they cancelled the extra bed charge. I don't know how they claim themselves to be a five star hotel with such unprofessional behavior and service.

The only good thing about the hotel was the housekeeping staff on the floor we stayed at who goes by the name Khalil. Mr. Khalil is a true professional who went the extra step to help us with our requests and favors.

Royal Tulip is not a five star hotel and it is not worth the money they charge.

We booked 2 rooms from 2-4 August during covid situation as they were advertising on social platforms about how greatly they have managed everything and ready to serve their guest. They surely have a big clean pool and great sea view.

Their dining was a disaster as they only opened buffet and all other set menus were not being served. Being far away from the city, it felt like a blackmail that we must choose buffet or any single item from their ala Carte..and their menu had literally nothing good to offer. Their Chinese restaurant was off. We couldn't eat pizza as their menu doesn't have it this time. Their movie hall was off, no sitting arrangements at the pool also no sun beds near the pool. Upon asking they told me due to covid 19.. then why would you open your resort and welcome your guests? What will they do in here after sunset?

They say they have a private beach but unfortunately you will see more local public using their beach than the guests. The security does nothing at all.

Guests were overflowing the day we left and hotel management is a disaster as number of employees were too low. Why would you take bookings if you can't provide proper service?

The buffet had no social distancing or whatsoever.

I'm not going back for sure.

Hotel was definitely an experience but not one I recommend. With such great advertisement of their water park, pool and other activities the hotel was a big disappointment. As a 5 star rated hotel, the staff and the experience here the true rating should sit at a 3 star. From the beginning there were issues with rooms, bathrooms were dirty and no utensils or plates were provided or allowed to be provided. The pool was also green the first day we arrived and after complaints, it was cleaned and finally turned blue. However, there is algae all over the side of the pool so it’s clear it’s not cleaned. Also, floats for children cost 100 taka a piece and only rented by the hour! Not even included. The water park that is greatly advertised with their hotel is also not a part of the stay! It is an additional 800 taka per person to enter the park and only 10 rides allowed with this ticket! You also can’t even sit on the beach! There is absolutely no seating and it is located by one of the dirtiest part of the beach.
During breakfast there was horrible food that I would not recommend to even spend your money on. Even though we had already prepaid breakfast for our 8 rooms for our family, there was an issue at breakfast saying we were not covered. This hotel seems to be all over the place and needs to be reevaluated for their service and cleanliness. If I continued this review I could write an entire book of what went wrong here. Definitely don’t recommend this hotel! There are plenty of other better ones. Don’t bother wasting your money😐

Ramjan Khan housekeeping - He was very helpful and nice, helped us keep our room clean by changing towels, bedsheets, pillow covers etc. Reception was very helpful as well. Breakfast i will not recommend as fresh juices were powdered flavored drinks and table clean up was very slow. Bar service is ok but very few imported drinks were available, mostly local drinks were there.

This is probably the best resort in Cox's Bazar with all possible amenities and also right on the beach (the sea is less than a hundred meters away). The quality of service is good, rooms are tastefully done with extremely comfortable and luxurious furnishings. For food - go to the Fish and Grill which provides awesome choices. The bar has limited options on drinks. The Spa is excellent and offers wide range of services.
However, two things were much below expectations - the swimming pool was over crowded with people, men, women and children, who were not in swimming costume but with their regular clothes on - quite unheard of, thus, making the water extremely dirty and unhygienic. I could not use the pool during my three days stay. Second, the breakfast was very badly managed. A huge crowd of people, estimated 200/300 turned up at the buffet breakfast. Often we could not get a seat and have to wait someone to finish. There was competition among guests to grab a seat. The place of noisy and unwelcome. There was food and fruit juices on the floor. In short, the breakfast on all the days I stayed was messy and terribly managed.
Otherwise a great place to spend your weekends. Do not miss the the beach bike/jeep ride.
