We're really just confirming what many other reviewers have said: we would certainly choose to return to this hotel as a stopover after flying in to Catania, or as a base for more Mt Etna area visits. Turning off a busy road through a low archway you arrive suddenly and unexpectedly in a pretty courtyard. We received a warm welcome,...

Etna hotel is different from other hotels from Sicily, the hotel building is actually like a castle, with a stone gate and the architecture of the hotel is something unique, a verry beautiful place, it charms you, and this is only the building! The hotel have a lot of services and respect the standards of a 4 star hotel, maybe...

Hotel on nice grounds, but in a dreadfull and depressing environement. As if you're sleeping next to an highway. Poor housekeeping (dirt on floors and on cupboards), breakfast was nothing special. The're far nicer places tot stay near Etna, try Zafferano or Randazzo. The worst hotel experience we had in Sicily.

Just back from a week long stay at the Hotel Etna and missing it already. As other reviews have mentioned there is little else very close by and the hotel is like an oasis of peace and tranquility after driving through Giarre and passing through the entrance. Staff very welcoming, with varying degrees of English, still, all better than our...

Very beautiful place with pool, parking and very nice rooms. Everything is clean and well maintained. Receptionists are very very kind. They advise the best restaurant in the area. Soon to etna mountain or sea. Awesome.

If you are looking for something new to discover, for a little adventure, this place is the best to go! It is located in a small traditional Sicilian town about 40 mins away from Catania on one side and Taormona on the other, and great views of Etna. It is perfect place for whose who want to escape from the...

When we first arrived in Giarre where the hotel is we were surprised how a beautiful diamond like Etna Hotel could hide in such a small city. It's hidden between walls and trees, and when you arrive at the hotel it seems like an unique oasis like no other in Sicily. Then we arrived we met a young beautiful woman...

This Hotel set in an old building just off the main road is delightful. We were warmly greeted and our ground-floor room faced out onto the pool (there was a hedge for privacy) and beyond the pool to a view of Mt Etna. The room was adequate, but not 'flash'. The best things on our stay were: [a] the staff...

I hesitate to recommend this hotel if only to keep it a secret. The hotel is a wonderful peaceful oasis in the foothills of Etna, set among lemon groves. Perfect location for exploring the NE of Sicily. The opportunity to stay in a converted manor house is a terrific romantic bonus. Fabulous staff and a great pool.

This hotel is a wonderful little gem... But as mentioned before: be prepared for strange surroundings. Not really anything around - well, a flower shop and auto dealer - (and only 5 min to nearest pizzeria) - so you'll need a car. Giarre is not far away and has some nice restaurant and shopping. Don't bother going to the beach...
