We just spent three nights at Manicou River (were originally going to stay two but liked it so much), after also spending three nights at Crescent Moon Cabins (which we loved to pieces if people are looking to split time between locations). The Manicou River cabins are so clean and remarkably well-appointed - from the kitchens (loved all the supplies...

Image a treehouse with a postcard perfect view over the bay and sunset from bed or the hammock - could not be better! Plus a attentive management team. Be sure to rent a 4-wheel-drive to reacht the hotel. My favorite place on Dominica!!

My wife and I honeymooned here in November 2012. We spend 5 awesome days, 4 nights in the tree house. The place is a short drive down to a beautiful bay with beach and great snorkeling, a short trip to Portsmouth market and restaurants, the local school, fishermen selling fresh catch and easy access to the West Highway. Hide your...

Thanks for taking the time to write this review. Since taking over in April 2013 we have introduced many improvements including some hand-made wooden boxes for storing food and keeping it out of reach of those thieving birds! Kate and Patrick.

This is a truly amazing place to stay. Don't hesitate, book it! We had heard that Dominica is one of the last unspoilt places in the Caribbean and we knew we wanted to be somewhere remote and beautiful but I was a little bit apprehensive about whether Manicou would be too rugged, that wasn't the case. From the warm welcome...

My wife and I stayed at Manicou River for 10 days in the second half of July earlier this year. We had both been working so hard what we needed more than anything was a retreat from our work commitments and daily routine. We definitely made the right decision because I can't think of a time i've felt more relaxed...

Manicou River Resort was amazing – we stayed a week and loved our cottage and the island. The view from our cottage was spectacular! Every morning we’d awake to this breathtaking panorama over the bay and could hardly leave to explore the island. Our cottage was like camping in a tree house only in comfort! The cottages, which they call...

This is a magic place. We loved our cabin with a great view of the sea and the birds and the moon and stars at night. I slept like a baby. While we were there, wifi was installed so we could be connected if we wanted to be. The drive up through the property is like going through a botanical...

My husband and I spent 4 nights here during a week long trip to Dominica in March. The drive up the hill can be intimidating but it's completely worth it! The view from your room is stunning at any time of day (my jaw actually dropped!), the people that own it are friendly and helpful, and the room itself is...

Thanks so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. We do indeed now have solar power so a little bit of light (not too much) and a small fridge so you no longer have to use a cooler. We do hope you will come back. We are currently running an offer for returning guests. Book 2 nights...

We were one of the first guest after the take over by the new owners. They are very enthousiastic and sent us a good road description in advance. Be aware that there drive way is very steep so take a very low gear. The lodges are beautiful and the views magnificent. The new owners will improve the resort by installing...
